I really get a lot out of hearing about your biking successes, please make sure to post them on your methods website, as well. You are really frickin' inspirational sometimes. :D

Its a bit of a short story though.
Set a goal -> go for it. Helps if you invest money, because then it hurts emotionally to pull out :)

My races cost about $50 each. Like hell im gonna pull out of change my mind after forking out that much $. :D

Haha there are plenty of fitter younger skinnier people doing the race. I just want to kick my own ass.
if i can do it under 3 hours ill be most happy.
 
I never relised it cost to enter those things? Then again ive never looked into it. lol Good Luck for the race Wishes Cant wait to see how you do.
 
Just dropin in to say hey...so hey...LOL...Oh and what is this I walk in to read abt Wishes kinda doubting herself or second guessing or questioning her ablitity...Give me a break, you biking queen diva you...of course you will do this and do it well and if you want 2.5 hours Im sure you will achieve it...

Yeah thats where the prizes come from - that and sponsors.

Though you do get a pack of 'stuff' when you check in with all sorts of advertising freebies (energy bars and chocolate, magazines etc .. i give most of it to the kids .. NOT on the diet).
The reason i do em is because,
a) i have a goal to work for the next week or two or more
b) it burns a crapload of calories cycling hard for 3-4 hours
c) it burns more calories working up to it practicing :D

All the cycling i do and i never got around to doing that yet ... *sigh*

I wouldn't even consider a bike race at this point! How exciting for you! I wouldn't even care if I won, just being able to say I participated!

Depends on if your tyres have kevlar in them and are specialist tyres :)
