What about a gift card...lol...thats my old stand by, get them what they want most, by letting them buy it themselves.

and on the cold feet, give your mind time to process all the possibilites even if they scare the shit outta you. The more you think about it and talk about it the more you desensitize yourself to the situation. It works for me.

Hey Wishes,

I guess I missed the part about you having surgery. Whats wrong? I've only had one operation until now, but my dad's been under the knife more times than I can remember. Its natural to have concerns about something like this even if the odds are more than in your favour. Hope you have a nice day:)
PS: that pooltrip sounds great, and you know splashing about in one also adds to your excercise, maybe not the hardcore one you would do in a gym, but you are moving:)

see!see! it gets harder the less you weigh
but you are doing so mint wishes - dont go lapping me though okay cos that will make me mad :p

Can you suprise him with a night away somewhere?? I also think the ring idea is a good one!! As far as your operation goes, you are right to have concerns. However, the docs won't even clear you if they note anything about your health that would put you at a greater risk. Now there's always risk when someone has surgery. You get cleared not only by the surgeon, but the anesthesiology department as well. Be sure to voice your any of your concerns to the docs. They want you to be comfortable with the decision to go ahead.

You certainly do need to feel sure that this is something you are doing after proper evaluation. Even recovering afterwards in hospital, can be scary.

However, you might like to compare the risk of you dying there to the risk of you dying doing a heap of other things that you already do repeatedly (thus increasing your total risk). You probably already do a heap of things that have an element of risk attached, and don't even think about it.

Maybe once you have made your decision it would be okay to treat the operation the same way if you can.

Jewellery sounds like a nice option for your husband.

I love the idea of an inscribed ring....I'm not big on jewelry for myself, but if the someone I loved had it engraved, I'd love it!

Howdy Wishes,
I keep seeing surgery to and I am not certain what your going in for?I am sure everything will work out great! I think the ring sounds great senimenal and meaningful plus a nice romantic dinner to get all dressed up and then desert when ya guy's get home:p !
We usually have us a babysitter go have a nice dinner maybe a movie then we have a mini party so the kids can get involved they like singing H-B-DAY abd cake so we do that on the side.Have fun and goodluck with the planning Tammy:)

I found this one i really like, though its a bit costly!
Its a bit cheesey though lol.

Donating a kidney to my brother whos on dialysis.

Thanks to everyone who replied - im guessing the worrying did me some good because i lost another couple lb :O

The DVD writer is awesome so far, worth its weight in gold.
Was a plesent surprised to see the scale gone down again in such a short time (only been 2 days or so).

Anyway now im off to the local school to dig bark for the day.

you're doin great as ever

You're doing the right thing by being honest and open about your feelings.
You are on one incredible journey.

Yikes, digging bark is a MESSY DUSTY job :/
Went for a swim afterwards to remove the dust clogging our eyes, ears, nose, throat, everything!
Re-applying sunscreen turned into mud on the arms. Breathing was impossible, at times you had to walk away to catch a breath.

Mind you, between that, the swimming, and the house cleaning i burnt over 900kcal today. Yesterday i only ate 800ish kcal so today i ate a little extra for both the extra work done and to make up some from yesterday.
Ended up probably over the usual upper limit for kcal, but a good portion of that was veges, no junk food so im sweet with that.
Nothing better than an extra serving lean lamb chop at dinner time :D
Oh i lie, i did eat some chippies earlier. doh - not to bad though , compared to having a total melt down wanting to eat the lot which is what i really wanted to do. Havnt had that much struggle to stick to the diet in a while - i think it was nicotine craving anyway more than anything. Quitting smoking and dieting just dont mix, the cravings of ciggs amplify any cravings for food from 'i can deal with it' to 'out of control'

Anyway we have my brother and sister in law up for the night tonight (the ones that got married a couple weeks ago). SO i better go be social :D

wow, i'm sure quitting smoking and dieting is really hard, but your doing a HUGE favor to yourself down the road!! I worked as an stna for 5 yrs (quit when I was preg.) But I can not tell you just how very badly smoking effects you in your old age. I'm proud of you for giving it up Wishes!! You'll thank yourself some day!

i love that ring you found! i don't think it's cheesy.. i think it's great!! :)

i had no idea about your surgery, and let me just say that i think you are such a great person for doing that! you and your brother are in my thoughts!!

Hey Wishes,

I think its, as someone said, a good think to talk to the doctor, if nothing new then to be reassured. I went to the doc this week too (and that's a big accomplishment for me) anyway, all my worries turned out to be nothings and just to put my mind (and not to mention my parents' mind) to rest, really lifted a stone of my chest...
I like your gift-idea, that will make his ring even more special to him:) and congrats on the loss, way to go:)

well hes not so keen on the ring, as for the doctor, i dont think i need that - its all very much sore muscles :)

I never realized how much you use those back/side muscles until they were sore lol.
Mental note: must work them out at the gym to keep them in shape!
Second Mental Note: Must go to the gym again :/

Been to long between workouts and gym and anything. To many long days and nights, lack of sleep and too much work is an ass.

Anyway, now the finger is better but the back is sore i havnt been riding lol. Tomorrow i might be ok to ride to work presuming the weather is good. I really miss going on the bike. Its easier than dealing with the traffic for a start! I get to skip all the silly cues that cars have to deal with :D
Also it burns an extra 600-800 kcal a day, which is half a kg a week :D

I hope you can get back to your riding and some better working/sleeping hours soon now.

*wishes good riding weather for wishes* :D

Do you feel like you've been worrying more while you've been kept away from your normal routine? Are you still feeling anxious about the operation?

Did your husband have any ideas of his own about his birthday present?

I hope you have a good day tomorrow. :)

heh its raining today - no riding !
Anyway im probably a bit sore. No im not overly anxious about not doing exercise, ill probably go to the gym tonight unless something major comes up.

I DO however have a new addiction!
Google Image Labeler
my god is that addictive and fun. but also frustrating when i get assigned a partner that sucks! lol
You just get paired up to a partner at random, and you have to give as many tags of a picture shown, when you use a tag that your partner uses then its 100pts and you move to the next picture.
Key tips:
- type as many words as you can of things in the picture (ie man, blue ,water, etc) then hit enter.
- Hit Zoom as soon as the first page loads - the pictures are a bit small otherwise
- type fast!
