yeah most of the pain is when im laying down so bedtime. if im up and about and walking im not to shabby. And the pain isnt caused by the scar/cut at all its the air inside me.
I look pregnant, its kind amusing because i know its not fat.
So im supposed to go out and meet a friend tonight at a bar. I cant drink booze, cant drink fizzy, and cant eat much. So i guess im nursing a cup of milk uncomfortably ? :D
 
heh i just got contacted by the morning TV program sunrise. They saw my twitter and blog and wanted to do something about my weight loss and kidney donation. Ill find out more monday
 
So glad to her you are both doing so well! Hope recovery goes as quickly! When is the air supposed to be gone? Sounds so uncomfortable! Hope it goes soon!
 
blaerg sore tummy, and the runs, and that stupid stomach gas shit
Im not liking this. I rang hospital earlier but nobody is available. Bit worried by blood in my runny poop. Sticking to water more for today to see if it helps

Feeling majorly depressed atm and tired, possibly because im not sleeping so well?

I'm sorry to hear you have some issues - no good that you couldn't get through to anyone useful ... In your place I'd be checking up too. I hope you get a better answer today. ((hugs))
 
Hmm I hope you can get some answers soon!

The depression might be quite normal anti-climatic stuff going on, it was a huge build up and now it is all done..you are bound to be feeling a little flat, not to mention the actual discomfort from the op etc.

You are a star though Liz, so keep on shining and hang in there!

I hope your story gets told in countless places. It's a story worth telling on all accounts. The world could use a shit ton more Lizs'.

No doubt all this wasn't going to happen from beginning to end without some shitty days (no pun intended) and for that I'm sorry you have to endure it. After all, as you damn well know, all heroic acts come with some form of sacrifice. You're still the most awesome person I've ever come in contact with, Liz.

I hope you both mend up nicely.
 
turns out i was just overtired, Good nights sleep and im fab now. I even weighed myself and i hadnt gained/lost - though im still swollen
Stomach is finally getting better sized. Still having trouble sleeping though.
 
yesterday i did 15 mins on the eliptical at a nice easy pace. Also strided up and down the mall a good many times to help releave the pressure from the wind/gas trapped.
I slept much better last night, with a lot less pain in the morning which was great.

Feeling heaps more energetic and im able to eat larger meals now also i notice. Cant wait to go home to be with family tomorrow!!! i miss them terribly! :/
 
Glad you are feeling better! :D and I bet you do miss them, they will all be so happy to see you too!!!

Wow ive been lax updating this diary lately lol.

Okay got home friday, surprised husband. Eating is decent now. Still small amounts but i have intentionally taken advantage of this and let my stomach shrink :)
Now im eating normal amounts of food a day and not doing what i used to do which is stretching my stomach so im hungry the rest of the day.
I finally weighed in this morning at 73kg which is probably the lowest ive been in a bit. Thats about 4lb loss since surgery 10 days ago. Would like to get to 70 still, but right now im more concerned with being able to friggen lie on my left side or back.
I can lie on my stomach, on the scar no less, with no problems. I can lie on my right side. But not my back or left. Which after a while gets very uncomfy at night time!
They did the surgery with me on my right side and stitched me up that way so i presume its just pulling when im on my left or back. So ill give it another couple weeks to heal more before complaining majorly at the hospital.
I did make the Dr aware of the problem at the sign off visit on friday, and he was mildly concerned but said keep an eye on it (as i am).

You can see my belly was pretty swollen after surgery in the scar pics vs the laying on the hospital bed pretending to be dead ones (which were taken the day before surgery)
 
Yeah that's a LOT of swelling. No wonder it was feeling bad - but it must have been weird too - to suddenly have your tummy pop out so much. It's good to hear that things are getting back to normal. Tidy scar too - looks like they used plastic surgery style stitches - and it seems to be healing fast.

Yeah, you can tell that you were very swollen, compared with the before's! When I had my C section to deliver my kid I found that the whole area they had worked on was totally numb.. couldn't feel a thing.. it still slightly is years and years later...do you have anything like that going on?
 
:waving:Glad to hear you're on the mend! Do keep paying attn to the hematochezia, and keeping the doc in the loop.

I had wicked gas after my c-sections! Very uncomfortable. You surely have my sympathies! My scar is also somewhat numb, 10 yrs after the sections.

I had that with my C-sectinon. Dont think this one has that as much, though the cut doesnt hurt at all.
BTW, if a person spams 6 times, dont give them a warning, just ban em :)

Well as it turns out its not just gas ... its still going on and it got worse yesterday evening for a bit. It got me worried so i google the symptoms and guess what comes up every single time.
Spleen enlarged. Causes pain under left ribs, pressure on stomach so unable to eat much!
I went to Drs who did tests, and tried to get in contact with the hosp with no luck. Waiting on a callback.
I think im ok, clearly it was worse right after the surgery because i can eat more now than i could before. I think its just in the wrong place and probably been beaten up with the surgery. Im feeling fine and active apart from that so yeah, i think its all fine anyway :)
Ill make the most of it and hopefully loose the last couple of lb at the same time :D
