man im not entirely sure i like this ticker. I used the hammer because it was the most surgical looking tool they had. They can hammer the damned kidney out if they must :D

But everytime i see it i get a sinking feeling deep down in my tummy :O
 
totally gutted. Doctor rang today and said that the geneticist my son saw the other day thinks both my son and I and probably half the family have Nail Patella syndrome.
Its not a major, means that we MAY have kidney problems or eye problems later in life, but probably not.
However, its probably the cause of my brothers kidney problems. And it also means i wont be a viable donor because my kidney will no doubt be abnormal.

They are testing my brother on thursday and ill hear that night if its going ahead or not.
 
ok so raiding the gingernut cookies was a bad idea last night.
Having fun with allergies right now as well which isnt helping. Related to some berries of which im not sure what. Sitting in the shower for 30 mins this morning helped out heaps with the face. Back on the good diet of meat and veges and fruit again. Though husband slipped up and gave me a normal mocha instead of trim this morning. I drank it anyway because it was from a particularly expensive fancy place rather than the usual crap cafe.

God today has gone slow, in fact i cant wait to finish this job. Im counting down the hours lol. I have 2 weeks 2 days to go.

Oh man, that kidney thing is such a ... there is no word for it... other than shit! I mean he has been waiting for so long, and now, 20 days prior they decide to test for the genetic disorder?? Stupid ass Dr.s!
When are they going to finish testing you? If you end up having the genetic disease, other than your kidney being in bad shape and not transplantable, it would also be a risk for you, because if 5 years down the line you do develop kidney failure in 1 kidney, you want to have a second one to hold up! But I am very very sorry for your bro, and hope that testing does not confirm these suspicions.

Hes been on one for nearly 5 years now already.
There is about a 7-10 year waiting list. Not enough live donors and the only about 20 dead ones a year.

Ive been tested. Thats why i had a date for the surgery. for the new genetics thing its not something they test for because its so rare, to find out definitivly if i have it or not basicly we do DNA tests which take months.
They are inspecting my brother today. if he has sure signs of the disorder then the operation is a no-go. its all called off.
Even if he has only a smither of signs of the disorder its a no-go.
 
oh, well, fuck it.
My brother looks set to be on dialasys until he dies or finds somebody to die for him.
Apparently he MUST have NPS because he bites his nails. Whats a fucken load of poppycock, bullshit, fuck knuckle, assface, crack smoking, jizz sucking, cunt banging, complete and utter BULLSHIT.

2 years of diet and exercise, 6 months of rigourous tests and time off work, just to be denied less than 3 weeks before the fucking surgery because a doctor decides we 'probably' have some rare syndrome that we have none of the symptoms of. But "OOOOO ISNT IT EXCITING THAT IVE FINALLY FOUND SOMEBODY WITH THIS RARE GENTIC DISORDER! "
 
Wishes, I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. It is such a blow for your whole family!

ok well i ended up with a cheesecake last night, though since ive been on fairly restricted calories, though good foods lately its no major really.
Today was better, some emails came through from experts whom i sent nail photos too. They said in no way were my nails ridged at all and agreed that i had no symptoms of the syndrome.
So this validates that this Doctor is a dickhead more interested in furthering his career rather than caring about his patients welfare. The fight will go on :)

I took a mental health day off work - being a friday and all. Jogged 40 mins to my friends house, spent few hours relaxing and then jogged back in 45 mins. Pretty hilly terrain and so i was pleased with my efforts. I wasnt even really tired and didnt have to stop at all. And it was great to think things through and clear the head.

Second and third options are a good thing... good for you for keeping up the fight
 
so i said last week i started taking some fat burners which were basicly caps of chilli and green tea and other such stimulants.
Dunno if they helped me loose any weight at all, i think possibly its a gimmick to make you work harder since you paid all that money to loose weight.
I did notice i havnt been sleeping, however i dunno if its related to the pills or not. Im stopping them for now anyway since you are only sposed to take them 5 days in a row and i forgot to take them one day and then forgot when i started it, and i suspect ive taken em too long by a day or two.

Anyway ill stay off them for now.
Ive lost 10lb in about 2 weeks approximatly. Been a bit busy to take notice exactly. Ive had a few blowouts so it could have been more if id wanted to be.
Basicly on the eating meat and vegetables diet only which always seems to work well. Plus a month gym membership on the exercycle and treadmills and stuff.

So now im sitting at home with a cyclone bearing down on me, though a mild one , however we live in a very open space on top of a hill. Heres hopeing the tree next to the house falls down, its protected so we cant cut it and it blocks tons of the view!
Ive brought all objects that can blow around inside, pre-cooked dinner, cat is inside.
Looks like it could be fun! Should be a fast and hard cyclone though which is good. Over quickly.
I told my sons work that he wouldnt be working as a driver tonight and they were dumb enough to ask "why?" .
