This Trucker Fights Back

Hiya. :)

It must be a pain re-passing numbers on the scales, when they are ones you have already gone past. I'm sure I'm going to hate it when I find out how much I have gained and have to redo.

It sounds like you are back on the path already though, and good for you. Good for us too. Losing weight and keeping it off can be a complicated thing. So easy one week, sooooo hard the next!! It still helps a lot to hear about you doing it right.

Congrats on beating the bus. :)

Losing weight and keeping it off can be a complicated thing.

True words and certainly uncharted territory for me. I've based my entire existence on the swings of good and evil so it's fair to say weight loss doesn't get 'exempt status' here. I would be lying if I didn't admit I miss certain foods, all I've gained to this point is knowing straight away the effects from resisting and engaging.

I did largely master resistance for said amount of time and the illogical step was to enter the 'land of forbiddens', you know, just to see what's going on in there. As near as I can tell not much has changed other than the guilt runs deeper and the weight (obviously) will be gained.

I adapted so much exercise ethic I felt this was my safeguard (foolishly) when in fact it was lack of self control and a weakness in store discipline.

Yesterday brought me another 26 mile ride and I think I reached my limit having to take a break on the way up AND on the way back. I have no explanation for it. I'm just maxed out and a break will be needed. I did ride my bike this morning to an appointment - 5 miles total. My plans are to mow the lawn later - hopefully the last mow of the year, if not, there can only be a chance for one more after today I would think.

I was pleased that Tina called me last night to see what my weekend plans were. It's kinda strange that we didn't really have a 'large time' our first date and I considered it to be a dead issue but maybe there was something that's got her wanting more time with me. Either way it's a reflection of a job well done for the last 19 months on my behalf.

You should feel good, your looking GREAT!! It's wonderful that your still biking, I wish I had biking time around here, but the only time I get is at the gym and well my bike goes NO WHERE, I'm still at the same place I started 45 minutes later, and that just SUCKS!! ahahha (aka stationary bike) :jump: I live out in the country off a long dirt/gravel road, and my ass would be flat on the ground if I even tried to attempt a ride up that thing, it's got a steep hill and well I've burned one before on gravel and it hurts like hell! It only takes once for me, I'm a fast learner. So many people ride on this website and I'm so jealous, I miss those days, maybe I can figure out a way to get my bike to the nearby lake and ride around that, but as we both know, it's all about "TIME" and it seems I don't have a lot of that to spare lately, why oh why does that happen as you get older....hmmmm maybe kids, family, friends, that could be it. Well, I hope your next date with Tina is a good one, and OF COURSE she enjoyed your company, why wouldn't she?? Take it and go with it and ENJOY every minute. HUGS!!!

Afternoon, Trucker! Just stopping by to say hello on a LOVELY Wednesday. Gosh it's gorgeous outside. I hope you are taking full advantage while some of us others are stuck inside. Enjoy the day!

Word to the muthafuckin streets. I 100% empathize. I just started food-diary-ing again because I'm such a lushy hedonistic glutton. Ah! I've exercised like a fiend but been living like a King (a king with tits who loves beer). We been on the discipline ride again and again--and we'll get back on and off. OH WELL! That's life for a Leo. Trust me.

Hugs & a kiss,
Valerie

I've said it 82 times, and believe me this isn't sarcasm nor a neener, but I do 'have it made' compared to the 'working world' and full time moms and whatnot. I do have ample time to work with it. I'm sure results would swell on here if many of you (collectively) had my agenda (or lack of).

It can be as much of curse as a blessing at times. Boredom can be a great evil. I have to really be careful with my overage of time.

I have a lil place I swing by from time to time to 'guy talk'. I stopped this morning and wow did I catch a raft of shit about Vickee, the girl I 'offed and on' June/July. My buds were pretty unkind to me about that episode and it kinda took me back a bit. I wasn't ready for the barrage let alone think they gave a flying fuck either way.

48 years old and I felt like I was 15 in high school chewin' on chick stories over a cigarette in the bathroom. I guess I'm one of those guys who sees people from the inside. I was never worried about Vickee turning into a bigtime relationship but it sure put some fear in my peeps. What's up with that ??

I doubt Tina will be much better in their eyes either. I should know that these women have been cycling through this game while I was a dormant fat man sitting at home for the last decade. I do fear STD's and not much else. I don't fear getting hurt emotionally over 'dating'. Funny no one had shit to say when it was 'on' :(

heh, the guilt trip, eh ?? didn't work, Nicole :p I had to practice my bike riding just in case I get a riding partner someday, yanno ?? :p

Some days I feel like I'm in a Rent-A-Body. This really isn't mine to keep unless I follow the 'contract' *sigh* to completion.

At least at 25 you pay attention to these things. I sure didn't way back when. Though you anguish, and that's sexy, you're way ahead of the game - still. So you like to party and yes, you know it has a price. It's not so wrong, Val.

I don't do 'moderately drunk' very well and in turn, I don't moderately take care of my exercise business. A Leo trait ?? I think so.

SCREW YOU!!;) Time precious time. I have a million things to do and not enough time to do it!

Burning the candle at both ends. Twas my case in June when I won the SCM trail race (for women)--after drinking all night, on 4 hours of sleep, and driving from Oakland to Santa Cruz at 6 in the morning to make the 8am run.

Have a good night! Good luck on those last 10 lbs, they're a bitch! :D

I've just been nodding my way through all your comments, wishing I had time to respond more.

Whether your buddies would think she'd make you a good on-going partner or not, it is a buzz that Tina has been in touch. I hope you enjoy your time this weekend. :)

Just name the beautiful weekend you're available! Give me at least a day to get my tires inflated. The bike has been sitting dormant for far too long! But at least it's red and I look cute in red!

Enjoy the day!

All I can say is "BAH- RELATIONSHIPS" dating is something I never really mastered myself. I'm not real good at it, so I know what you mean. Your doing it right, just do what feels right to you, if things don't work out. SCREW EM! The guys have no idea what your gong through, your trying to figure out your new body as it is, why the pressure of women to go with it. UH OH, did i say that?? well true as it is, just take your time, and BE HAPPY!! lifes to short to workout out what we "women" are thinking, OR trying to get up to speed on what "dating" is anymore, I hated it before I got married, and I don't know how people do it anymore to be honest with you, it's HARD WORK! CHOW BABES!

This is one of may most fav WLF stories - ever. I have a weak spot for defiance with a happy ending.

This is based on the assumption I don't aim for 180 which I could easily compliment my body at completely. Will I ?? I got nothing else to do the next [X] years.

oh lordy, how I miss thee ?? I hope you have all the kiwi men 'chasing skirt' as we say here in select parts of the U.S.A. I'm more excited about your weekend than my own. Women will come and go but once-in-a-lifetime adventures, uniquely exciting. I can't wait for the full report !!

Ugh !! a dormant bike is a sin !! next weekend will be very near peak for foliage however I'll be at a race Friday and Saturday. Sunday is somewhat open but it's also the rain date for the race should it be needed.

This weekend would just stress you out probably and I'd hate to see you get short-changed of the less-than-spectacular colors right now. The weather however, is maximum 'let's do this'. Don't get me wrong, it's nice presently just not true peak.

The 20th and 21st are completely open for me but the risk of past-peak is possible and who knows what the weather will bring but then you live here in Pa. so you're never short on seeing fall as it happens.

It's really a coin flip. Tell me later what you're thinking :)

So true. These are married men not in the game anymore than I am in the 'relationship' deal. I think it was all character-based about Vickee (ie. tramp, ho etc...) but honestly she was fun to be with. The girl could party like a rockstar. It was an opportunity to test ride my new body and I have no qualms about the brief tango.

I already knew I'd aim higher. I'm not looking and yet I'm always looking. I think when I find 'her', it won't seem like a 'relationship', just a natural progression. Yeah, dating blows for sure.

Guys will talk shit regardless.... :hug2: don't let it get to you. Some people never grow a few pubes on their junk aka "grow up." What I have found out about most shit talkers is that they themselves have the damndest time getting laid, so they make it a point to talk about other's "personal life" so that they can later on jerk off to it. Ooops... am I getting too vulgar here? hahaaa Just wanted you to know you're in my thoughts..... Oh.. and I <3 Jillian... LMAO

I'm not so much worried about the foliage. You're right, I see it all the time. I do have a tentative trip out of town planned forthe weekend of the 20th to North Carolina, so that may not work out for me. I'm busy on the 13th, but free the morning/early afternoon of the 14th. I could always call in sick (cough, cough) any weekday ;-) That may be our best bet yet...you're what, 3 hours from me? Let me know in advance your thoughts. My bike is at my Momma's house. I'll have to bring it back to Pittsburgh with me!

I don't know that I'm on any bigger adventure than you really, but I love your encouragement to make the most of it.

I hope you're having a great weekend!!

that S&M shit was screwing me up!

Then it was done right ;)

I have no idea what those graphics mean....seriously!

That makes two of us.

Lemme know.

I don't know that I'm on any bigger adventure than you really, but I love your encouragement to make the most of it.

oh c'mon, surely you've had at least 3 National Lampoon Vacation-like moments so far. I totally encourage family satire :)

I hope you're having a great weekend!!

Friday, I finally mowed the lawn. Went out Friday night.

Saturday morning, rode 26 miles then got into a 2-day project with sanding, priming and painting both front doors and got 2-one hour walks in on Sunday.

Today I rode the trail again. More than likely the last of the 80 degree days will end today, certainly by Wednesday for sure. I'm enjoying life right now, the even keel-ness presently agrees with me. I'm not asking for much and I'm not looking for much. Just a content middle-of-the-road.

I did have to vacuum about 400 ladybugs out of here yesterday. They took over my place while I was napping *sigh* They stink, too.
