^5 backatya !! and thank you for the compliment

Oh hell yes nature !! save the treadmill for rainy days !! or snow which you never get. Actually, NO ONE in SoCal should be allowed to own a threadmill !!

Sore ya say ?? well get back out there and do it again today !!

No Weak Links in my diary !! - just kiddin'

In my defense...I'm up at 4:50 a.m. to spend my 30 minutes on the treadmill during the work week so I can get it in every morning before I leave for work(and adding resistance/strength training in the afternoons 3x week) but now that it's beautiful out...heading out of doors for one of those long endurance walks on Saturdays...believe me I was on the treadmill this morning! :) I'm fine as long as I keep moving--its getting back up after sitting at my desk that is killing me!!!:D

My Saturday walk worked up a blister on one of my toes...which I could still feel this morning. I really enjoyed being out on Saturday and can't wait to do it again! :)

No. He's not kidding!
;)

I gotta admit, I had (and still do) a walker inspirationalist on here too though she'll take no credit and say "but Randy, YOU'RE the one doing the walking !!"...snip... I probably would've never challenged myself to this extent with finding WLF and people like Debi.

That's about the nicest thing I've read about me Randy - but remember - you ARE the one doing it! You ARE the one that doesn't take no, stop, rest for an answer!

You could park your butt on the computer and give it up to catabolics ;)
You take the effort - and push yourself.

YOU are making the difference in YOUR life my friend,
And I'm very proud of you!

And YOU ARE the one that inspired me to move it and lose it :)

Now do a curtsey and go infect someone else :D

Beth - you never have to defend yourself in my diary. I realize not everyone has my cushy schedule  Cheers !!

Oh how I wish I had walking weather. Heres our forcast for today:

BLIZZARD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM ADT THIS AFTERNOON
Today...Snow and blowing snow. Visibility one quarter mile or less at Times. Snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. Highs in the upper 20s. Northwest wind 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

Yup, I could go snow shoeing, but public saftey warns against hiking in blizzards, they hate sending out the rescue crew when they are all cozied up by the fire sipping hot chocolate.

Hi T2!!! Hope you are stay away from the cigs!!! I also will be a walking fanatic once it gets warmer. I've gotten a few one hour ones in within the last week, however I'll never catch up to you!!

Not even close to 'Baked Alaska'

Then I better hush about it being 75 here today :(

Fighting it by the minute beckster  I was going nutzo here today just sitting so I went and washed the car, an hour of yardwork and some incline walking for 40 minutes <---- that REALLY reminded my why I need to keep cigs out of my life.

If I stay busy, I do much much much better with this smoking crave - the patch sure helps too but it isn't a cure-all :(

It's definitely not a cure all - there's a hand to mouth action that's become a habit.

You WILL replace that habit with better ones :)

A 40 minute incline walk, clean car and done yardwork is MUCH better!!

The incline walking was a first. Pretty freaky stuff, not sure this is something I should be doing but I had to test myself. I don't see this as a 'daily' for now. My rationalizing was trading effect for distance with the blister being present.

I know I need challenges and I forget I'm not a pup anymore kinda silly to try and act like one.

and oh geez, I did the BMI thing - 178 to the 'normal' range ?? I can't eeeeeeeven imagine...

BMI phooey!

You'll know where you want to be when you get there - some little chart (that is squewed) isn't going to tell you.

The clothes you want to be in, the way you feel on your walks, the inclines ;) Those charts give ranges and don't take into consideration muscle mass.

Amen Forum Sister - I think I weighed 178 in 5th grade. The doctors back then said being 'husky' was healthy *shrugs*

Forget about BMI -- that's a totally flawed measurement. I think it's much more reliable to go by body fat percentage. If you have a husky build anyway, the odds are that even with 14% body fat, your BMI would put you in the overweight category.

My "ideal" BMI would put me at 165 lbs. - I'd be nothing but flab and bones at that weight.

Ok...so we're not supposed to use the scale, we're not supposed to use the BMI, clothing sizes are unreliable at best.

I GIVE UP!

;)

Stick with it T2 :)
I went to work today to be confronted with a HUGE carrot cake (personal fav of mine, 500kcal a slice), smokers, and people heating yummy smelling pies for lunch
Lets just say, im still on the diet, and still quit smoking, but i went home an hour early :O
Its weird - even with the patches its hard to quit :/
