Hey Trucker "T"
Just stopping by to wave hi and to say when ya coming
to walk the floodwall with me and Winston lol?
I been meaning to ask ya what other ab workout's are there besides
crunshes/situps? I need something different in that department!
Thanks Tammy
Any and all exercise is good for weight loss per se but to target a specific area is more difficult in our heavy stages. I have found countless articles that write crunches will not burn fat from the lower ab region because the fat literally hovers above the muscle group and never burn the fat into muscle. The actual crunches with define your abs and it can be rock hard but the belly above it will hide the work you put forth as far as appearance goes.
Two ways to lose the 'pouch' below the belly button is lypo and/or dieting. Personally, I know this is going to be my last area of accomplishment, while it sucks to look at right now, I have to be patient and just keep reducing my weight and it will go away eventually. Right now just exercise to your limits and often, pick specifics later when you will see the results. Who wouldn't lose interest in crunches if they still had 40 lbs of jelly above it and couldn't see that rock ab underneath it ??
oooh, that article made me drool T2...alas I havn't had fast food in ages so I can't blame my weight problem on them. We don't have a single FF joint on our island. Call us contry bumpkins but we just don't want them here! Sorry you had a hard time falling asleep last night. I started an insomniacs cafe thread in the club...we're waiting for you...
I wish I could've blamed FF alone but that wasn't always the case either. I just made bad choices and made them often and certainly without much thought being involved. Changing lifestyles was as much about awareness as anything - part of that mindset required to pull off this project. We have them (FF joints) here still, the only thing that's changed is I don't go to them.
Nice article - you're right about the comparison factor, but even at the bottom when it was comparing the DQ Banana Split to the Baskin Robin's Banana Split, it did say that the DQ one was 30% smaller or so...
Sometimes just knowing what you CAN order and how many calories you're shooting by going in, is good info to have.
My daughter has been calling those places Fat Food Restaraunts

I just love that
hehe, you know I have a penchant for the uncanny.
Your daughter is wise for her age, must be that upbringing
That's awesome. I should teach my son that LOL.
Hey there T2,
howz it going??? Lookin good. When's your next weigh in?
Sept 30th - I don't look for much loss tho. It's time to accept the long slow road for awhile. No big surprises, I'm still doing my eating pretty well, just the exercise has lessened and I'm coming off a big plateau. My evaluation of my body size is leaving me feeling ok and no worries. The next 60 might take a year or longer, I'm ok with that.
Consider that stolen! I'm going to start using this!! Tell the little one I said thanks!
Watch out for those Copyright lawyers !!!
gnarly article, some things I just don't want to know
hehe, my diary is chock full of stuff in the TMI dept.
Yowza! That's pretty enlightening right there. I have no idea where the fast food joints are in this town, and now I'm glad I don't... though despite the numbers I did find myself wanting a nice crispy chicken sandwich... okay no more bad thoughts! Have a wonderful evening!Sifen
No reason not enjoy a cripsy chicken sandwich every ten years is there ??

Have great day tomorrow
Speaking of Walmart, I heard on the news that they were not going to allow LayAway anymore. I dont use layaway, but I work with alot of families that depend on LayAway for Christmas and such.. I think it is horrible for people with fixed incomes and low wage jobs not to be able to utilize layaway anymore. PFT... Where is the sense of community?!
Hey, I want your venison chili recipe.
I couldn't agree more with the layaway thing. I wish I could count how many Christmas' were made possible in our house both when I lived with my parents and later in life as a parent.
These decisions usually come down to beancounters crunching numbers and saying we spend X amount dollars on return to stock cost and Walmart looks for the fast turnaround on their dollar instead of it sitting in a back room nothing being available for sale. I know room is always a problem in Walmarts too. I use to haul out of our regional distribution center and I was all amazed how they found room for all that stuff, literally up to their necks in boxes every single night.
Ugh !! never ask an Italian for a 'recipe'. Its all hand and eye and pinches of this, that and the other thing
I brown up a few pounds of cubed up flanks or a roast. Put in a 12 qt pot with:
2 big cans of crushed tomatoes
1 half green pepper finely diced
3 cans of spicy chili beans
2 cans of Campbell's tomato soup
1 can of tomato paste
2 small cans of chicken broth and another can or two to keep adding over the course othe day a lil at a time.
chili powder
cumin - a must
salt (if needed) and pepper to season
boil hard for 15 to 20 mins then simmer on low to warm-low for 4-6 hours.
cook wagonwheels on the side and add 10 mins before serving and make sure you have enough liquid so that the wagonwheels don't suck up the chili completely dry.
