Great facts! ^ ^ ^

Hi T2.

I just wanted to wish you well in your battle with the smoking.

That's a tough one.

I hope you start to feel the advantages quickly.

Arg hope your patches are going better than mine, i lost my voucher card thing to take in to get them when moving things around the house. I was SOOO ready too as well! :(

Now im gonna have to ransack the house to find it.

OK Buddy,
You're fluffing up the post count of my diary...come in here and tell us how the patch and you are doing!

CONGRATS on quitting the ciggies!!

(My hubby quit cold-turkey AND went on a diet--all on January 1st....he is ciggie free and 33 pounds lighter! (He was grouchy for a coupla weeks  but he says he feels so much better now!)

I'm rootin' for ya!

Beth

I'm thinking about you... fighting your way through this to even more health, and strength - and big lungfuls of fresh spring air!

Hi kids, I got 10 miles in yesterday in one straight session :) and I'm off for whatever distance today - just waiting for the temps to warm up a bit to get started, I only have a small window to work with today.

I got to admit, the changes of not smoking are pretty immediate in way of feeling better and I'm really looking forward to the continued improvements.

Food has been super-diligent and I rely on my strength to keep me off the snacky path - it's not easy but I have what it takes to see me through this in every dimension. It all starts and stops at the grocery store. I've been tweaking my food choices for lower cholesterol foods. I did start a new med for my cholesterol in an attempt to go from 105 to 70. 105 sounds good to most people however a diabetic has to go lower as we plaque up easier than regular people do.

Yes, I posted my weight gain weight - first one in a year *shrugs* but don't look for it to stay there very long ;) There isn't a thing my life that can throw me off kilter.

Yes you do! And you're doing it!

Am I included in that small little group Randy? Sorry, don't mean to put you on the spot there. ;) :D

Congratulations; you're on your way to a doubly healthy life. I love that you're being a hardass with the snack thing...I'm going to take my cue from you and cut them out of my life. They've been slowly edging they're way back in.:(

WOW T!, great job on the walking and smoking fronts. Good for you on trying to get the cholesterol down. Sounds like you are doing great, keep it up.

I go to my new Doctor next week, my old one was useless and of no help, so hopefully I can start working on some of the medical issues that I am bound to need to address after 35 years of abusing my body.

Later Bro.

Funny you say this Fenster, my doc was the biggest piece of shit until I took action with myself. I guess his stance is he helps those who help themselves. I think I probably made him annoyed with all his test ordered and suggestion were all for not because all his efforts were cast aside due to my laziness and inability to do anything to improve my health, only to complain about it.

Him and I are on the same page now and I delegate better information to him which in turn narrows treatment paths. He'll be the first to admit any 'cures' I made were self-induced largely by myself. Tuesday he didn't let me leave without the 'proud of me' speak. It really makes me leave there wanting to go longer, harder and further to restoring my health - for years I use to leave pissed off or depressed because I was fat, sick and lazy. He had no cure for that.

Rock on Keystone Brother. I'm with ya on your way to restoration

That is great news!!!!!!!!!

A ten mile walk already - fantastic - especially with the weather not having been all that helpful recently. I bet today's walk is making you feel wonderful too. :)

I can definitely understand his point, unfortunatly mine was rather unresponsive even after I started making big changes. But no problem, the new Doc comes highly recommended and I like what I have heard so far. We will see next Wednesday.

congrats on the quitting smoking! That is my next goal...It would definatly help my exersizes if I could breathe! Its a real accomplishment and you should be so proud of your self controll! ;)

The last time I went to the doctor I was 65 pounds lighter than I am now and he told me I was too fat to get my black belt and I should try to lose 20 before I tested...I told him him he should try to lose 20 b4 he squeezed back into the pants he was wearing...shame shame...I leave pissed of every time!
Maybe when I start doing as good as you he and I can get along better!
