This Trucker Fights Back

Hi T2!!! I had trouble logging on like everyone else, otherwise I would have stopped by!! I do not plan on overdoing it over the holidays...just got through Thanksgiving, a wedding, and two birthdays, I've had it with not having "my food" all the time!!! I even passed by my favorite very dark 70% chocolate bar in the market. I allow myself a small amount every few weeks, but did the right thing today. How are you feeling these days? Is your diabetes under control???

Sorry for the diary neglect. I really intended a couple times to sit down and tap out a few replies and always got side-tracked.

As Korrie pointed out, I did break the 150 mark when I weighed in at Mom and Dad's today. I suspected I was still on a lose due to this recent bout I've having with infection, but I did feel sluggish and a bit puffy for awhile and assumed I might be losing the upper-hand on things lately *shrugs*

Wishy stopped by on my MSN and suggested I give myself more calories to give the antibiotics something to work with. I really up'd my fresh fruit intake so even though I'm eating more, I think what I'm eating hasn't caused any collateral damage by way of gaining weight. I'm also thinking breaks in exercise are helpful too, maybe more isn't always better - perhaps timely consistency brings greater results.

I look at that number and I do awe a bit but what's even better is looking at myself with pride and accomplishment. Trust me, I really am lost for words about all this at the moment.

Well now isn't the time to gloat and get all bragadocious, there's still work to be done.

I hope you all (continue to) get a chance to feel this way someday. Maybe you'll understand a little bit more about why I come across the way I do. I know I better understand a lot of you now in your accomplishments, it really is a hard thing to keep quiet about internally.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pat yourself on the back and keep on truckin'!
Your positivity and success has inspired me (and I'm feeling pretty inspired!).
Like yourself, there is work to be done here too.
Great job man! Keep it up!

Thanks man, after reading your diary it seems you need very little by way of outside inspiration but thank you all the same. You have what it takes to do this. No weak links !!

Thanks Miss K :) You definitely have some nice records going your way and it's just a matter of time before you break through. I go back and re-visit my first page on my diary to get myself uprighted or re-inspired when need be.

One thing about, you have never given up and that's more than a lot of people can say about losing weight ;)

You can do this.

I gots ta go !!

Hey! Awesome job on passing the 150 mark! That's great!

I wish it was sunny here... but sadly no, we Washingtonians get used to never seeing the sun during the winter. :D Have fun on your walk! :)

Bummer xorie, such a beautiful state too. I use to get a lot of loads out to Washington and always looked forward to every trip, especially if I had to come across Snoqualmie Pass and pick up frozen french fries in Moses Lake.

Washington is like Pennsylvania on steroids !!

I just got done walking 90 minutes View attachment 2037 That's 4.2 miles and a great start to the week. Forecast looks like I should get a decent amount of walking in *fingers crossed*

:D That's funny! Moses Lake is beautiful, and so is pretty much everything else in Western Washington (I've only ever flown over eastern) But in the winter, the sky is usually grey, making everything else just blah... Spring and Fall are my two favorite seasons, escpecially fall, just because of the explosion of colors!!

4.2 miles! That's great! keep it up!

Heya's T2,

I am and I do ;) No worries here. I'm a big boy ;)

Hey T, long time no talkie! So, this year is the first for you in a long time that you havn't been in the running for playing santa...you officially no longer qualify for the part...sorry...your being cut from the show...permanently.
On a better note, we have a few elf parts that need auditioning for...j/k!
150 lbs, thats a whole person T. You lost a whole person! If you want to "feel" how much you lost you can ask an average person to get on your back and take them for a four mile walk.
you never fail to inspire. *swoons*
HUGS! I MISS YOU!!

Thanks M2M :)

I do pick up a few calories here and there with sugarless gums and mints but usually limit those to 50 - 70 cals a day.

I give a lot of credit to my stomach size too, i really fill up so much faster now and my replenishment doesn't seem to be as dire as it was in my 'eating like a pig' days.

I'll also admit today is a rather lean day too. I'm getting ready to do a run on meats this week to pump up my protein a bit since I'm an everyday walker.

I know I caught hell for using processed food but sometimes you have to use what you know you like to keep on the diet trail but here's one of my staples I use:

Stouffer's Meatloafs.

6 loaves per box and since I live alone, I'll eat 2 loaves for 3 straight nights which can be a lil boring but I don't like to waste my food so I put up with it. I don't think it's safe to re-freeze this stuff or shelf it in the fridge for more than 3 days.

I'll eat a can of peas or beets with these 2 loaves and will be belly-busting full and stay well under 600 cals for my dinners for 3 nights. I will eat my usual 200 to 300 cal day meals and my catabolic snacks. ;)

Again..was nice to talk to you earlier man... question...I see you're staying down by 600 cals and I must not be following. Why are you staying so low on the cal intake? Just curious :)

I am proud of you !! I think our chats are paying off nicely. I can't wait to see you through this ordeal. Once you get use to changing to a healthy menu it's not so bad. There will always be difficult days with food choices but that doesn't mean you have to give into them. You just have to shoulder up that food choices have to last a lifetime so get use to making good ones consistently - it really is the secret to stay to keeping weight off.

Last night was ok View attachment 2044

In re: to the 600 you quoted, that was 600 for the entire supper, not for the day. Each meatloaf was 225 and the peas are 140 cals making a 590 cal supper.

I experimented with different ranges of daily calorie levels and this is a good place for me to tell you I never add my catabolic calorie totals to my list because after all, they are 'free'' foods and usually create a deficit.

Summer time it was easy to maintain 800 cals a day (not counting my catabolic foods), lately I've been in the 1200 to 1500 cals a day since the seasons have changed (which is causing me mild concern but not anally freaked over it).

Shorter days, less exercise ops, more idle time etc. these are thing are things I'm currently evaluating and adjusting with. I'm still working with a shrunken stomach and my desire for core meals hasn't increased (yet) however I have noticed my 'picking' has increased.

I'm also upset that 'snacking' groups like white grapes and strawberries have gone out of sight price-wise and have been dropped from the list. I'm trying to stay with apples and bananas mainly but I haven't won ever battle recently with snacks.

My success over the winter will mainly come down to what I carry out of the store. As far as eating out or breaking my fast food fast, I'm safe there - the desire still hasn't rekindled.
