This is the time

It always makes me happy to see that I can still eat out at my favorites restaurants. We had McDonalds yesterday for lunch and by making minor adjustments in our evening meal, we didn't go over our goals for anything. Well probably sodium.

Keep up the good work!!
As far as food goes, I genuinely prefer my own right now. I did enjoy sitting in the cafe with my happy daughter, watching the other shoppers do their thing - so I still like being able to work out how to combine acceptable food with sometimes eating out.

once it warms up where i am... i think i am going to go for walks. i think its awesome that you walk every-day!
Actually, I think it's awesome too. In a way I am still surprised that I'm doing it, after so long a time of not exercising. I do really enjoy it. Walking outside is so much pleasanter than walking on a treadmill - a bit trickier to time though. I am getting quite a sense of another world, talking to people like yourself who are locked away for the winter.

Hello! i hope today turns out great for you!!:)
Thanks bgs. It is not great yet, but might be after I go back to bed for a while! :)

Weigh day today. I am 88.6kg (194.92 lb), so that's a loss of 0.8 kg (1 3/4 lb) for the week. I have been feeling heavy the past couple of days so I am glad to still be seeing a loss.

I am so tired though, I couldn't even remember what the scale said between reading it and walking to a table 3 metres (yds) away to write it down. I had to get back on the scales. That is what 4.3 hrs sleep does to me. I can't handle this at all. Scratchy eyes, scratchy temper, waste time because I forget significant things. My head aches, my stomach feels queazy. It's like a bad hangover. I have done what I had to today and kids are at school with the right food. My son has packed his into his bag in an inappropriate way because between him not getting enough sleep and me not getting enough sleep there was not enough time to make him do it properly - only time for me to grumble at him that if I found it mouldering in the bottom of his bag he's dead meat.

Back to bed for me now.

i dont know what time it is where you are... but no matter what it is.. if you are up.. GO TO BED!!! you need to go to sleep! i will challenge you to get at least 7 hours of sleep for a week straight. And tell me how you feel.

OK. I had a good 2 hours asleep. If I have more now it will make me late for tonight. Sorry to complain about the tiredness. I was basically just recording how silly I am to let that happen. It's not like I didn't know - but I'm inclined to put the extent of it in my forgettory. It's pretty dumb to stay up late to make healthy food and then deliver it in a way that will make it less attractive, for example. Also, it is not like me to try and catch it up the way I did today. That is rarely possible - I usually try to ignore how bad I'm feeling till I become less conscious of it. However, conscious or not it still undercuts my ability to function properly. Today I let myself notice. To make sure tomorrow is ok...I need to start getting ready for it, sooon!

Earlier this evening the power flicked off and on and the computers turned off and now mine will not turn on again! I have pinched the one my husband normally uses and connected it to the net. It looks wrong - I did change the screen resolution but it's still a bit strange. That old machine has a lot of pics on it that I would just as soon keep. Well we will see. Sometimes being forced to make a change can be useful.

Well..one thing you could do is go to a store like staples, best buy, or the like and purchase an external hard drive enclosure for like 20/30 bucks and use the hard drive from the old computer as an external drive. You can go through and back up all the info on that drive unless it was shorted out. It could be the powersupply on the machine that could be fried... but then again..it could be anumber of things... Hope you get it sorted out! Thanks for all the support in my diary...event hough I couldn't get to most everyone elses... :(

I am about to do the same thing to this chunk of junk, as soon as I get out of school. I have another computer lined up and I am ready to just switch out the hard drive and call it "good enough". I want a computer with a working mic and the ability to successfully play a few decent graphics intensive games.
Not that I play many of them, but I still want to be ABLE to.

Well, this is a little embarrassing, but someone else asked me if it was plugged in. *clears throat*

I thought "Of course." It's plugged into a board - other things on that board lit up okay - cords and plugs are away from traffic areas. However I did also think that maybe there was problem with that part of the board - so I took it out plugged in elsewhere and it worked first go - yay - plugged back in where it used to be and it worked, still. I dunno - it didn't look loose. I did try to start it many times before gave up. I guess short answer is working is better than not working!!

Could also be that I should back up the bits I'm keen on.

Thanks a lot for the information SS and all for good wishes - who knows maybe the positive vibe flowed right on through and did the job!

Qjay. I understand where you're coming from about upgrading. I don't play any of those sorts of game, but I would like the rest of my family to be able to install and play whatever's going without coming back to me in tears.

Today I did not get my walk. I didn’t go first thing. (I know I always say I should – to be safe – but I haven’t started yet.) I started getting a simple dinner really early, yet somehow I have not been able to walk (not even briefly) and it is 9:18 and I am just eating dinner now. Oh well, live and learn I suppose. Tomorrow I will go for a walk in the park at Carine on my way back from taking my son to school. ( That will be too late for a hot day – but tomorrow should be OK. It’s instantly become more important to do it earlier. Over the holidays I had somehow forgotten about fitting homework into the same window as cooking and eating the evening meal. Also, I am going to turn into a stricter, naggier mum I think.

Lookin good as always...its been awhile since Ive shown my face in here...so here I am, lol...sorry to hear abt no walk that really aggrivates me when I cant get my exercise in but sometimes that is just life and family and life and such gets in the way from time to time

I've just been reading Saturday Saint's thread in the Harsh Truth section. The responses he got were very interesting I thought. There are a links to a couple of articles discussing research showing how eating healthier types of foods (rather than straightforward calorie counting) can help people lose weight faster. I find some of the discussions in that section a little hard to follow but this bit wasn't.

I was interested in the list of at home exercises one of them put in M2M's thread too. I don't know what most of them are though so I will have to do a little research before I try adding anything to what I do. In some ways I can't imagine doing much of that sort of exercise because I'm such a scaredy cat when it comes to pushing my joints, and because I know how weak my tummy muscles are. On the other hand, when I've had a day on my feet, like today, exercise that you can do without standing up sounds kind of appealing! Anyway I will have a look. Basically because these guys sound like they have good reasons for what they say, which is that a weight loss program is more effective if it has some resistance training in it. Also, it might be something I can fit in more easily than extra walking, both now, because I'm not as fast as I want, and also when the days are shorter and there's less daylight to move around in.

Depending how much work I get I might see about joining a gym later - but I would rather do things that take no money, and that I can do when it suits me. I had some great success with a gym program years ago, but it totally fell in a hole when the place went bankrupt! Since then I've had a couple more attempts but pretty much did my dough when I found them hard to get to.

Walking can be a real hassle to go do, especially if it is too cold or too warm. I much prefer the exercise involved in throwing my computer for distance, or perhaps just driving with the A/C on. Sadly, neither of those exercises really does much to help, but they are still better for you than jumping to conclusions, or dishing out the latest gossip, right? ;)

I'm sure you're right about that. I think it would be easier for me to accept if I truly couldn't see a way of exercising because of things beyond my control. I do get frustrated though when I realize that I would have been able to if I had managed things differently. Like today. :D

Yeah. I love my walks but for a while I was sort of thinking that they were the only thing I could consistently manage - and now I'm wondering what I could add that would help. I still have my "Sit up straight sign" on my computer BTW!

Do you have a problem with the latest gossip? :D

I say do what works for you. I pay a lot to go to the gym. So when I am able, my butt is there and working! You are doing great right now! Have a great day!:)
