This is the time

yeah that lizard is kinda scarey looking :D

I deal with some of the largest parrots in my bird club, but thats just scarey looking:D

How cool that you have found a 2 piece swimsuit ready for summer! I love to use the pool to exercise, though it's a bit fiddly for every day.

I had a good Sunday thanks. I hope yours, which is probably starting now as I think about sleep, is good too - rejuvenating before work starts again.

wishes
LOL. I bet your parrots are interesting. New Zealand has really large ground parrots doesn't it? I would be scared to get close to them I think, but love to see them.

I have probably given you and Cerella the wrong idea about those lizards now. They do that hissy thing only as a defence, mostly they don't do anything much. They are as slow as turtles. People here are only scared of them if they notice that they have almost put their hands on them without noticing (like my dad did once, weeding in the garden), and then they are only scared because they look like snakes. I have been wondering if we have any snakes here that aren't dangerous because thinking back, I have only ever seen poisonous ones.

We were by the beach all afternoon having a bbq picnic. The children swam. I probably would have but accidentally left my clothes at home. It was a bit of an issue thinking whether I might swim or not, and what to wear… hopefully by next summer it will be less of one. Sitting around for hours with food happening off and on was probably not a great encouragement towards eating well but I had lots of snackable salad so it was ok. I really did want to have an icecream when I saw my kids eating them today. I bet if I had swum I wouldn’t have been bothered. Being outside so long always makes me feel a bit tired afterwards as though I’ve been active, even when I wasn’t.

Breakfast ~ 9:00 2 weetbix, 1/3 C diced peaches. 1C lowfat soy milk. 1 boiled egg. 1 slice wholemeal toast with minimal margarine and strawberry jam. ½ glass tomato juice. 1 C White coffee ~ 40 ml Hilo milk

Lunch 1:00 2 slices of wholemaeal bread. 1 bbq chicken thigh. Salad inc. 2 cherry tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, sugar snap peas, carrot, capsicum. ~ 1/3 cup black seedless grapes.

Snack 3:30 Carrots, sugar snap peas, a very little low fat French onion dip. ~ 1/3 C black grapes. A cup of black tea.

Exercise 2:30 ~ 20 min slow walk on the beach.
5:45 2x 20 min low impact aerobics. 20 min stretches.

I’m not doing as well as I was but it was ok. A bit sore towards the end but otherwise ok. So I should be able to keep on with it – I just need time for it. Maybe tomorrow morning as there are no kids here tonight.

8:00 Noodle soup from Perth Noodle Wok. Combination soup. Egg noodles, chinese greens, carrots, onion, chicken, meat, prawns. Tub of diet apricot yoghurt. 1/3 C tinned peaches.

I have had other noodle soups from there before but in my memory they had more vegetables and less noodles in them. I tried something I hadn't had before because I had decided on a soup from there and when I came to order I realized it had coconut in it. So I don’t know if they used to be better or I didn’t notice. No way did I want so much noodles so I just ate the top bit. Hopefully the amount I had was about right.

It wasn’t really satisfying by itself even though I think it was enough food. I really wanted dessert – thinking about icecream again. So I had yoghurt, still planning to have also have a nectarine but  I hadn’t bought them. I was feeling a bit panicky but remembered preserved peaches.

I would say that I have a niggling craving for icecream right now. So my plan is to say upfront that it is there. It is not massive, but it is definite. Therefore it is my enemy and I am ready to fight it. I am hoping that defining like this will put me in control of it. Thinking about it like this did make me feel better.

Water: 2000 ml Yesterday’s Bedtime: 12:30

I've just updated my signature and corrected the mistakes I found in it at the same time! One mistake was my current weight. I had left off 0.6 so when I came to update I wondered if I must have had a 0.3 gain instead of a 0.3 loss!! I am more appreciative of my 0.3 down than I was before!! :D

I had another phone call about work today. The woman who was desperate for me to work in the 6-7 class has found someone who can fit in better with the days they need on the first week, and “hopes this won’t put me off working there in future”. Hmm. Massive apology. Well I hadn’t had a chance to start lesson plans, but I had knocked back other work – maybe it was for days where I was working elsewhere though. I don’t think she dealt well with me but I’m sure she’s doing the best thing for the kids now and it might turn out to be better for me too. :)

Breakfast ~ 9:00 2 weetbix, 1/3 C diced peaches. 1C lowfat soy milk. 1 boiled egg. 1 slice wholemeal toast with minimal margarine and strawberry jam. ½ glass tomato juice. 1 C White coffee ~ 40 ml Hilo milk

Exercise 10:30 2x 20 min low impact aerobics. 20 min stretches.

It felt better than yesterday. I think probably I needed to keep going with at least some of it on the days when I walked or swam
.
Lunch 12:30 2 Salad crackers. 100 gm cottage cheese. 1 tomato. 1 pear.

Snack 5:30 ½ Salada cracker. 1 stalk celery.

7:00 1 carrot. Spaghetti Bol. ¾ C spaghetti. 120 gm lean minced beef, ½ lean part of bacon rasher. ½ onion, capsiscum, celery, mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, carrot. 1 black olive. ~ 4 green olives.
Salad 2 C –bean sprouts, sugar snap peas, cucumber, capsicum. A little light Italian dressing.

I had to hunt down some better fruit and vege this weekend and I did this afternoon. Yum. It really puts me in the mood to eat well.

Tonight’s was a nice tasting salad combo – a bit different to what I normally have.

I put extra olives in the spaghetti sauce again and didn’t take them out of my section, again. I will find a better way to deal with this next time because I don’t like knowing that I’m repeating something that I do basically see as a mistake for myself.

I had a good weekend thanx - as for work I think everything happens for a reason - ya know the saying when a door closes a window opens - It will all figure itself out I am sure but that sucks that oyu turned down other jobs and that she dealt wit you in a cowish way - Hope your day is going well

Thanks Cerella. I did have a good day and certainly feel more relaxed knowing I'm not going to be making the massive rushed effort that job would have taken.

I'm not too cranky about the woman. It would have been nice if she had shown a little more concern for me! However, I mostly think that just reflects on her - I'm still having a nice time without her having better manners. There was only one job I have missed for sure. I don't remember which days the other ones would have been for.

Hello! Ia m dropping in to say. The weekend was rushed for me. Had lots going on and didn't hardly get on the computer and not on the forum at all!! Glad you have a good attitude towards work!! That makes life easier when you aren't so up tight!! I wish i was better about that!! Have agreat day!!:)

Well, it would have been nice if she hadn't been a twit about it, but there's not much to be done now; at least you didn't have a lot of effort into it!

I like seeing all those grapes you're eating, I'm working on a 2 kg bucket of them this week, too. ;)

Don't stress about the olives! They are GOOD FOR YOU, even if they do have a bit of fat in them. Olive oil is good stuff, if you want to make sure that you aren't "eating too many" then just remove a little bit of the oil you use when you make the sauce or do the pasta without any oil in the water. It's not a perfect solution, but it isn't a bad one, either.

Hi Felici,
just popping in to say HI!! I hope you not melting in this heat! Can you believe it 42 degrees today   and tomorrow!! Aaarrggghhh- Outa Control!!! What is that in Farenheit?? Do you know??

Anyway it's great to see your going so well! Keep up the good work!

Hey! I hope I don't sound too awfully stupid, but what are weetbix and what is white coffee? I just had to ask!

Sometimes I have a good attitude, sometimes not! LOL I have had all nice classes so far and lots of calls about work in the last week, so that helps me be relaxed.

I don't think I stress about the olives - I pretty much agree with you that olives are good food - the old mediterranean diet protecting your heart and all that.

Only having a lot at once doesn't strictly fit into the plan I have, and as I eat them most days I don't actually want to change the plan in case it adds up into something that matters.

Also I suppose I like to write down whether something fits or not. If the not fitting is just a little and not too often I don't stress - but at least if I write it and highlight it, I feel safe that I won't somehow go over to the dark side without noticing. :D
Hey you're doing great with your weight loss and posting all your food. Great work!
Thanks. My weight loss is slow but I feel it is slowly amounting to something.

OMG!!!!!!!! It is 107.6 in the old scale!! (Fahrenheit still means more to me than Celsius). I wish I hadn't looked that up!! (and did you see it was 47 in Geraldton??? (116.6 F)

I wasn't feeling all that bad, just wishing my husband would stop complaining about the heat!! LOL.

Oooo. I hope tomorrow's school has air conditioning. Today's little building was great! I can't really blame Mr Fel for drooping, he was out in it the whole day and no doubt not looking forward to tomorrow either.

Melly - you have 1.6 kg to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wooot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!View attachment 2773

That is so wonderful. *runs off to look if there are more pictures* Well it's wonderful even without pictures.

Hey! I hope I don't sound too awfully stupid, but what are weetbix and what is white coffee? I just had to ask!
Why should you know? I'm not stupid but I bet you know about a heap of things I don't also. : D

Weetbix are a whole grain cereal. Rolled wheat flakes smooshed together into little rectangles. After you put milk and peaches on them they are very comfort food. Yet wholegrain healthy with no added sugar.:D

White coffee is just coffee with milk in it - as opposed to black coffee. I hadn't noticed that this was an expression you folk wouldn't be used to. :D Well now I know that! Thanks. : D

you don't sound stupid to me... i have no idea either! :)
:D ^^

Breakfast ~ 9:00 2 weetbix, 1/3 C diced peaches. 1C lowfat soy milk. 1 boiled egg. 1 slice wholemeal toast with minimal margarine and strawberry jam. ½ glass tomato juice. 1 C coffee with 40 ml Hilo milk

Lunch 12:30 2 slices wholemeal bread, ½ grilled chicken thigh. 1 big laetitia plum.

Gorgeous plum. I really paid too much for it to scoff it as fast as I had to. I forgot my vege juice. *Goes and gets vege juice and puts it in school bag* * Tops up emergency crackers and almonds*

My assistant hurt her ankle and had to leave. I got another helper but it was a busy day!

Snack Forgot snack. Didn’t feel weird though.

Dinner 7:15 ~150 gm tinned red salmon. 100 gm tinned 4 bean mix. 10 (?) gm tinned corn. 2 slices beetroot. 3 cherry tomatoes. Celery carrot broccoli mushroom capsicum pieces.

Exercise 7:35 pm Walked the dog at a moderate pace. I did more stretches than usual first but did them in the park. Then I thought that if my daughter’s enemy had been looking down the street from her house I would have been dead meat, because I was doing shoulder rolls and “dead rows” and such from my DVD and it really was too weird. I must remember to stretch at home. It’s nicer outside tonight though. Anyway I considered working hard because my leg was good enough – but I had just eaten dinner, and it was pretty hot still. I decided tonight was sort of look-after-your-heart and keep-up-your-commitment type exercise rather than lose-weight type exercise.

Water: ? A lot. I remembered to have a glass of water every time there was a space in the day and managed 5 before I went home. Plenty since. Yesterday’s Bedtime: ~1:30

On plan:96 days. Achieved food target: 79 days. Exercised: 80 days. All goals: 7 days.

Happy moment for today.

Walking towards a window at work and seeing someone slimmer than me walking towards it!! It was me!!

I do see myself in the mirror a lot because there’s a full length one usually open on the other side of my bedroom as I walk in. However I am quite often wearing giant shorts two or three sizes too big and a giant tshirt three or four sizes too big.

But today I was wearing a shirt about the right size and I found out that walking shows up that I am smaller than my shirt! When I compare myself to my before picture I stand still and the difference is less obvious.

Oh and I stood on the scales they had in the classroom and they weigh 1.5 kg lighter than the ones I use. :D Well that’s not a loss but it’s still nice. :D

Breakfast ~ 9:00 2 weetbix, 1/3 C diced peaches. 1C lowfat soy milk. 1 boiled egg. 1 slice wholemeal toast with minimal margarine and strawberry jam. ½ glass tomato juice. 1 C coffee with 40 ml Hilo milk

Snack 10:30 1 nectarine. Coffee with Hilo milk.

Lunch 12:00 2 Salada crackers. 50 gm (?) hard low fat cheese. Coffee with Hilo milk.

Snack 5:30 ½ Salada cracker
6:00 6 almonds (I wasn’t extra hungry, I had the almonds to try and do this thing of spreading my food out a bit.)

Exercise 7:45 pm 35 mins hard work walk! I’m proud of it.

So felici will you tell us how much you exercised today “ 35 minutes walk”. “No no, felici. Write an essay. We want to hear about every exciting minute.” “Oh if you insist….”

I was lucky at work today. It was not hard and not draining. I had no recess duty and no lunch duty and the airconditioning worked. My, it was hot outside. After the kids left I locked myself out and had to walk the length of 4 classrooms to get back in. I was sweating after 2 classrooms. LOL.

So anyway I had energy left afterwards to do housework, make phone calls, and drive kids around, and still feel ok. As it was impossible to exercise outside at dance time, and my girl wanted to go early – giving me more time at home - I reckoned I could get 1 ½ hours in exercising in front of the TV – except the boy asked for help to study for his science test. Now that is an offer I am never going to refuse – it isn’t even for tomorrow – it’s for Friday.

But I was left with no TV time and the dog needing a walk. I feel like I’m not doing what I need for weight loss if I don’t have a fair percentage of my exercise feeling effortful. What I really like (afterwards), is to feel like I am pushing some barriers. I’m not sure that a get a good weight loss type heart rate otherwise. (Says she, with no proper study of this subject and yet some faith in her understanding of the ones who have studied it.)

Yeah. So I walked. I remembered not to have dinner. I warmed up on the back patio. I walked nicely to the park and then I walked my 10 seconds fast, 10 seconds hard – with the hard ones really, really hard the whole way – through the first park zig zags, round the school, round the oval, and then a cool down walk back from the oval. This was definitely the most effort I have made so far. It was 30 minutes constant hard puffing. I don’t know if I walked faster than before, because it was still about 30 degrees (high 80s), so the fact that my face felt so hot it was stinging like a bad sunburn when I got inside probably isn’t a good guide!!

Anyway thanks to Damien on The (Australian) Biggest Loser, and to wishes, because I started walking fast tonight and I was thinking this isn’t fast enough, my shins aren’t burning, it’s not enough I need more - and who should I think of… yes ! Wishes!! And magic speed came. LOL.

Hehe. I sure can rave on eh.

Oh. I use the shin burn as my guide because that’s what I remember getting when I first started pushing my speed. If anyone is reading this and knows that shin burn is what you get before you snap something essential, I wouldn’t mind hearing about it. :)

And I will not be up late hanging clothes up to dry for tomorrow because I have done it. I have no appetite though! I better go and eat. All those veges will take a fair bit of munching.

Dinner 10:00 ~100 gm tinned red salmon. 100 gm tinned corn. 2 slices beetroot. Celery carrot broccoli mushroom capsicum pieces and sugar snap peas.

It looks a bit boring but I really don’t feel like anything that’s not cold and simple anyway.

I see now that it sounds like a variety - like black tea, green tea. Or maybe like "white chocolate". Hehe. It's just what people say here.

Thanks. I'm really having a hard time fitting my exercise in tonight. I was thinking about your abchair earlier when my feet were aching too!!

I still remember my boobs growing UP to a C. In my mind it always seemed biggish. LOL. I did get way past that but these days at least my boob size is a constant. I just need to get the body to match, and I can be nice and normal(ish).

Yeah 47 in Geraldton and after I posted I heard Carnarvon was hotter - 47.8, an equal record in Australia, but I hear other places are hotter. It seems like your skin would just cook. Thank goodness today was heaps better.

I do relief teaching. I have my name down at a pretty much every school from Gwelup to Kingsley and North Beach to Mirrabooka. I get more work from Carine than anywhere. I don't always make it to assembly though because most of my work is with Kindy and Pre-Primaries.

Are you the Giant Pineapple's friend - like those women who interpretted for Humphrey Bear? :D
