It all started on January 1st, I made a new years resolution, which was to give my full effort to lose weight and stick to it so that I can look good when I go to university. I was 260 pounds and 6'1 at that time. Today I am a healthy 179 pounds and 6'3 tall. Im really new to the forum but I just wanted to share my success with people and inspire those who want to lose weight. Alright here is the before and after pic, enjoy :)

Good job, man.

I am shorter than you, but I also started out looking just like your before pic and am now looking like your after pic. I am 5'10" and weighed 238 lbs before. This morning, I weighed in at 163.3 lbs. This total amount of weight loss has taken 1.5 years, but 95% of it happened in the last 5 months. You lost 81 lbs, I lost 75 lbs - comparable results, physically.

EDIT: I still need to lose more 9 lbs to reach the same BMI as you (22.4)

I didn't start at new years, but made my real decision during the middle of summer. The thing that prompted me was my Madonna look-alike ex-girlfriend. She was tall, thin, cultured, and incredibly good looking, but a really nasty person inside. She didn't care at all that I was fat, hell she even told me not to lose weight (she was/is a classic narcissist). I decided to lose weight anyway, because I knew things were going south with her and once I had had a taste of that good looking of a woman, I couldn't easily settle for less. Sure enough, as the kilos started coming off, the women started coming on ;-) Since a few months ago, I got a beautiful new girlfriend with a tall, thin, rockin' body and, get this, she is also an upstanding citizen!

do you have any loose skin?

The human integumentary system (skin) is not a passive layer of tissue that remains stretched out like an empty plastic bag after losing large amounts of bodyweight. The argument of the woman above about the cause of loose skin is a myth. Rather, skin is a living organ, actively adapting to the body's internal and external environments. People on extended fasts consuming nothing more than water have demonstrated that the skin can lose 20% or more of its size.

The skin is usually thickest on the soles of the feet, and thinnest on the eyelids. As a typical example of your skin's thickness, pinch the skin on the back of your hand. If it were true, as this woman claims, that the folds of skin hanging off her body had absolutely no fat left underneath to diet away, every inch of this skin would hang in sheets as thin as fold of paper.

However, common observation of the folds of skin in such examples reveals this is not usually the case. Measuring the thickness of these hanging folds of skin provides evidence that there is still a substantial amount of body fat underneath the skin. The skin is not so much "loose" as it is flabby due to excess body fat. Even if some areas have completely thinned out, excess body fat is likely to be stored in adjacent areas that contribute to the overall flabby condition.
