TheDarwinFish - Phase 2

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and offer of support. This forum does kick some serious ass.

I've definitely been thrown off my health game plan... getting next to no sleep, barely able to cram food into my mouth, too much caffeine and no exercise other than pulling my hair out. :D

I've actually lost about 4-5 lbs so far since Sunday. Clearly, that's unhealthy and it's not good weight loss so I really need to try and get my shit together to at least maintain what I was doing if I can't progress.

On the plus side I've had a shitload of support offered by family and friends so as shitty as it all is, I've good people around me.

Still haven't signed up for the Santa Shuffle... I want to do it and I'm sure it'd be a great way to get my mind off this shit, it's just like eating right now. I don't want to do it. I'm not in the mood. Y'know?

Anyway, got a shit tonne of work to do. Just thought I would say hi and thanks to everyone who has dropped by here and/or PM'd me. You guys fucking rock.
 
Hey, your appetite will return--ride that muthafucker out! Glad you have a great support network to get you through this difficult time. I am no where NEAR being married AT ALL, but divorce is definitely in the worst nightmare for me category--props to you for keeping a level head. There will always be more Santa Shuffles. This past week has been pretty eff'd. I haven't done shit. Diet is asstastic. Not eating bad food (not SUPER food, but not bad) but I'm not eating nearly enough. I'm kind of couch-surfing at the moment which is partly why my food has suffered. Hard to make lunch for work at someone else's place. So I have been eating a shit ton of Subway, grabbing fruits and nuts and whatnot at the grocery store. Whatever I can get my hands on.

Hope that I'll be ready to move into my cousin's place in a couple weeks. That should allow me to settle in a bit and get back to running and eating right.

Hope everyone has a great week. I am going to try and get another hour of sleep!
 
Hey, Brad, if you are able to maintain with all this chaos going on in your life, well, that's a sure sign that you have succeeded in making this a life change. Keep strong, brother. :seeya:

Still, I think your situation is very awful--I'd hate to be going through what you're going through, and the fact that you're even on here telling us that you're still trying to maintain discipline?!?! :eek2: I commend you! :hurray: If I lived nearby I'd let you sleep on MY couch :D. Hell, I'd take you out for a good time! You like Dubstep? :)

Hello!!!!!!! I'm f'n back!

It's been a shitty month and a half in just about every way... bad diet, no exercise, other obvious shittiness. However, I'm back and committed to getting everything on track again. I'd say I ended up adding about 3-4 lbs back on. Shitty.

Last night was my first run (or exercise of any kind) since leaving my old place. It went surprisingly well. It was a little less than 2 miles. I need to modify my route a bit to hit that 2 mile marker. Some of it is uphill which is a nice 'obstacle' added to the new route.

I'd planned on started running last week but there's no way in hell I'm running in -32 celsius temps!

So I'm excited. I'm starting to get my diet back on track, I'm going to make sure I'm getting out at least 3 nights a week. Tonight I think I'm going skating. But yeah, it's back on and I can't wait to get back to where I was and continue where I left off.

Thanks to EVERYONE who IMd me and who stopped in to see how I was doing. You are all rockstars!
 
Brad, glad to see you back. I got a cold weather Under Armour shirt, and I highly recommend it. Not -32, but at -7 it was more then fine.
 
WOW -32 :eek2: What does that even FEEL like? Does your breath freeze over your face?

Glad you sound better and are logging on! Don't forget to weight train ;)
 
Good to see you around Fish!! You'll bounce back quick in more ways than one!! -32 DAMN that's cold... I was bitching last week when it hit -8!!! Skating is a great alternative to running as well, so you'll have two nights in this week, and it's only Tuesday! :cheers2:
 
Curvie -32 actually feels wonderful :) It happens so rarely that you've just got to appreciate it! I find the cold doesn't PERMEATE your body as much, but funny things start to happen (i.e. coughing when you breathe in because it's so cold, your hair freezing when you breathe on it, etc)

Just some Ontario insight for you :)
