The Spoon, Puck and Me

Tut, tut, tut ..... I don't know  . You punch holes in them or put them in plastic folders, put them in lever arch files, and put them on a shelf ..... I thought you were going to say you had a baby elephant to find a home for :D

Sounds like a tricky day ..... you'll just have to make sure you have more meals but smaller meals. Sounds like you've got it all under control though ;) . Good luck with the swim .... I'll be watching that ticker lady!!!!

Look-a-that fishy gooooooooo... WEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee..........!

Another 150 lengths a-done! Think I managed it a little quicker as well. Well, quicker so long as we bar pit-stops :D Hey, I swim over the lunch period, a girl needs her lucazade power up!

*insert Power Rangers theme tune here*

In fact *plays Power Rangers theme song* It's on my "Best of" play list :D

Punch holes!? In my perfectly drawn frames? Sacrelige! And 600 sheets of paper doesn't quite fit into a folder. Believe me, I've tried :D And my shelves are already full of unplaceable crap, examples being Grey Bear teddies, glass pyramids, oil burners, baby elephants :p

What about origami animals, where would you put those? :p

That reminds me: Origami animals seek loving home.

Just had lunch, which has consisted of 2 clementines (gasp) an apple (gasp) and a wadge of cheese. Real cheese though, I need the energy for the next few hours; one of my far-too-energetic mates is coming to see me for the first time since February, going to grandma's (anyone want to swap?) Brownies straight from grandma's, then TC's straight from Brownies. IN OTHER NEWS, TC rang, he's home, he's alive!

Even though I'm desperatly not looking foward to going, there is some good in all of this; it'll be my first cooked meal in over a week. I like cooked meals :) I'll have to make myself a cooked something on a lunchtime. And once the cornflakes have all been used up, then I'll have to buy in some soups. I like soups as well :)

Thanks all!

Bronsk

Wow, that fish is flying now!! (um... didn't really think that metaphor through then :D ) You'll be in France before you know it!!

Ooops! I forgot that you were doing an artistic course ... is it animation or have I got my wires crossed? Plus when you say Grey Bears do you mean with little blue noses? Because they are sooooo cute, I love them. I have a couple plus I always buy the cards.

One hint for cooking meals that aren't too complicated, I do a veggie stirfry, add some beans and cooked microwave (wholegrain) rice, then add some soup, and warm it through. Its got carbs and protein, plus it can be different every time you have it. I put a spot of oil in the pan first, but then when it starts to stick I just add splashes of water from time to time. Plus using micro-rice means its a one pot meal, always handy!! ;)

Hope it all goes smoothly today, catch ya later!!

Yep, that's a flying fish right there *titter gaffaw*

And yep, it's animation. The art of breathing life into images and sculptures, creating lands and circumstance... one could say the art of playing God...

The grey bears are the ones with blue noses, yes! They're fab, I love them! I like Bobble the Little Blue Owl as well, he's really cute, and the story behind him is really sad :(

I like the recipe, that's really cool! You should post it on the recipe pages, I've been browsing through them recently. There's a fab recipe for spicy tuna burgers; I'm spreading the word!

Well, this evening went quite well. Dinner at grandma's was a Chicken Tonight meal with rice, carrots and peas. Then apple and custard (it was going to be apple crumble) for dessert. I felt so bloated afterwards, especially since I was in a rush, so I just wolfed it down. Literally hours on, I still felt like I had weighted hooks linked through my stomach lining...

Have told boyfriend about going to Camp America. He seemed OK about it, though telling him made me think how much I would miss him.

Just had a cup of chocolate soy milk. Maybe not the best thing in the world, and an Options hot chocolate would have been much smarter, but I was quite curious. I had it in one of my "portion control" cups (OK, a children's cup!) so probably no more than 200 ml. It was nice, though I wouldn't make a habit of it.

I was planning on a swim tomorrow, but since I need to pack for camping trip, I'll be doing washing et al for then. No matter, have done 300 lengths this week, which puts me way ahead of schedule, and wouldn't make me feel too bad about not swimming next week. Will get on the Stridder, as I would have planned if I wasn't going away, while the washing machine is going.

Night all!

Bronsk

I have bobble aswell, used to be a bauble then he came to life ... awwww! Sounds like yesterday went well, and I wouldn't worry about not swimming today ... you do the stridder and skipping aswell, so you have had plenty of exercise this week! I shall have to go ... finding it difficult .... to construct ... um ... you know, those things ... made up of words .... And I just overdid my porridge :p .

I'll be back  ... after work :D

Heehee, thanks twinmom! :D I love Finding Nemo, makes me cry though...

Yep, that's Bobble Mrs B! Dude, no wonder you were lagging, up at 4 AM o_O Erk! Sorry about the over done porridge *offers soggy cornflakes*

Haven't quite planned my day yet, but so far I'm thinking...

**Finish TC's present (yes I am that sad, but this is the first time I've had proper inspiration)
**Start sorting out washing that needs to be done
**Once that's in the machine skip and go on the Stridder
**have lunch A
**sort out washing if done/pack other gaff
**Strid again
**lunch B
**More packing if nessesary
**clean out guinea-pigs
**SHOWER (for the last time in four days :p)

Right, better get started!

See you later, thanks everyone!

Bronsk

Sounds like a full day ;) !!! I wish I was artistic in some way, my grandma did paintings but unfortunately I did not get that gene. What are you making TC (can't help but think your dating Top Cat :D )?

Hahaha, I thought of that when I put TC down for the first time :D I haven't actually made Top Cat :)D) anything, just printed something for the present I've got him. In short, he's always wanted a sapphire. I'm not sure why, but he's said about it a few times. I think it's because it's his birthstone... So I've got him 4 different kinds of sapphire; a blue one, a purple one, a green one and a star one. The star sapphire has a smooth-cut surface, and when you shine a strong light on the surface, a star-shaped reflection appears!

I did some reading up on sapphire, and during my research, I found out that sapphires are stones associated with love (and money and power) and are the stones of the star signs Aquarius and Virgo. And guess who's an Aquarius... (me) And guess who's a Virgo... (Top Cat) How well does that work out!?

I've packed them all up in a box with a small printed strip about sapphire, just to justify why I got him 4 different coloured stones, and an Amynathist (my birthstone - sorry about the poor spelling!)

OK, everything done except the cleaning out of guinea-pigs. Lack of sawdust prevented me from doing so.

Eats wise (I'm going to surprise you all here...)

lunch A - 2 clementines (gasp) an apple (double gasp) and ... (wait for it...) a slice of low fat cheese! Oh, and a small grasp of cashew nuts (total: 300)

lunch B - chinese chicken sandwich, frozen Angel Delight, cup of juice (total: 550)

Tea will be cornflakes (huuuuge gasp!) (total: 110)

And by using my magic noodle, I've even worked out how much I've had kcal wise! In total, that includes breakfast, I've had 1070 kcals today.

Exercise wise, I've done 150 skips, and broke a new personal record with 47 skips in a row! Woo!! And then did x2 20 minute sessions on the exercise machine. Woo!!!

Just spoken to boyfriend, and this weekend food-wise sounds a little... unhealthy. Just a tad, with full fry-up breakfast and stuff. Good thing I don't eat pigs! Have a whole box of cornflakes in my bag. And apples. And Options hot chocolate! May try living off just that for a week, see where that gets me!

On the artist front, I'm sure you can be artistic, Mrs B! Ever tried origami? Fun for everyone, and very creative!

By the way, destructive game for everyone: It's fantastic, you break cars with a wrecking ball!

OK, I'll do the rounds, then log off. I'm going to watch my new The Rescuers DVD tonight!

*hugs* all,

Bronsk

That prezzie sounds fab, and its always nice to give something with a personal touch :) . Your as bad as me for eating the same things all the time, but I think it makes it easier to stick to a routine, and especially when you are counting calories ..... you could almost do it in your sleep (wouldn't recommend it though :D )

47 skips in a row is fab!!!! I have a jump rope, and I think I may have to swallow my pride and get out in the garden doing some. I think my first target will probably be 5 in a row  ... do you find you get a stitch?

I did origami when I was younger and I did enjoy it, maybe I'll have to give it another whirl. Oh, and one artistic thing I can do is make novelty cakes. I have done a wine bottle, a roulette wheel, a pint of guinness, two dice and a lime wedge .... shame I shouldn't really be baking anymore .... maybe I can make them out of tofu :D

I'll give that link a go aswell (good for that aggression release I was talking about :D )

Enjoy your film, get a goooood nights sleep tonight (under the stars tomorrow :D ) and if I don't manage to drop by before you go tomorrow, have a great time, don't worry about being too strict, and farewell ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) (thats 4 days worth!! :D )

Miss you already :( ;)

I passeth my good news here as well as the FSD! I've lost 900g, nearly a whole kilogram (just over 2 lbs) which I'm really pleased with, considering I didn't think I'd lose any! Thank you all for staying supportive and for all the hugs :)

Glad you like Top Cat's pressie, Mrs B, hopefully he'll like it as well when I give it to him on Sunday *really hopes he likes it* I know he's wanted one for a while. Well, now he gets 4, in assorted colours and types!

I'm going to sound so autistic here, but I do find it easier to eat the same things at the same time, almost like taking medication. You're right, it's easier to stick to. I'm going to have a panic attack this weekend when everything gets thrown out of routine!

I don't get stitches when skipping but legs go dead easily :p And even just a few skips ends up leaving me completely out of breath! Hopefully that'll change over time. Definitely give it a go! It brings out the child in you, and it does some real good to your legs and butt; I swear my keester's getting smaller!

I love doing origami, I got myself a whole load of advanced books recently, with things like horses and sheep and stuff with just one piece of paper! And three headed dragons!! It's fantastic! And when craving's hit, it's a good, clean hobby to do that makes use of your hands. One of the reasons I took up origami again was because I'd read on this other weight loss site that taking up a craft-based hobby helps to take minds off food.

Wow, your cakes sound fab! You could make the cakes and sell them to people on bun stalls! Or you could make them out of vegatable pulp, I've seen iguana owners do that for their lizard! Oo! You could make one for Buster out of crushed locusts! :D Tasty!

The game is really good for aggressive release, when you first you needed one that was the first thing I thought about! It's so much fun, I love it!

The Rescuers was great, I haven't seen it since I was about 7/8. I just wanted to cry all the way through, some bits are so sad. But I think it's become one of my new favourite films. Boyfriend's taking his portable DVD player with him (how very camping like ) so I'm forcing it onto him :p

Thanks Mrs B, and thanks for always dropping by. ******great big 4 day hugs, with extra just in case****** Have a brilliant weekend and monday and tuesday. I'll miss you loads, I'll be having withdrawl symptoms halfway to Leeds :D

Stay cool,

Bronsk

Atleast I wouldn't be tempted to lick the bowl out :D

Okay, My plan is to make sure that next time I speak to you, I have atleast given skipping a go ... and thats a promise! ;)

Congrats again on the fab weight loss this week!!! Have a really great time camping and I will speak to you on Tuesday. (((hugs))) ... sniff ... sniff ...

Mrs Bear :(

(Edited to change see you Wed, to see you Tues)

Hey Bronsk, I thought I'd drop by to leave you a welcome home message!! I hope you had a great time and I am really looking forward to hearing about it. But for now I will let you go grab a shower ..... phew!!! :D .

Great to have you back, Duckie!!! Chat to you soon ;)

Hey missus, thanks for the welcome back! Have you tried your hand at skipping? Hope you've enjoyed it!

The weekend was fantastic! Cub Camp was fun, I swear, 9 year old boys just ooze fun and character! I even got to lead a song with them, and it ended up being camp favourite! Top Cat got me a unicorn necklace (holds special connotations :) ) and he loved his sapphires!

We stayed just the two of us in the Dales, at this fab campsite (which did have a shower - by the time we got there, neither of us had showered for 3/4 days *yuk!* We were so thankful for the shower!) We ate out twice at a local pub, went to the Wenslydale cheese factory (and sampled all the cheese!) lounged by and paddled in the stream, and free-climbed the white scar cliff face. Absolutely amazing!

OK, confessional time...

Friday night: had sandwich at Top Cat's, then chicken curry at camp

Saturday: as well as cornflakes, I had a fried egg and a bacon butty. I don't even *eat* bacon, and it was so salty and rank, but I ate it anyway! Lunch was cheese, potatos, bread, starch starch starch. Tea I had peas, just peas... then two pancakes with lemon and sugar.

Sunday: cornflakes, no added grease, yorkshire ouds with peas and turkey mince, then duck with orange sauce, with new potatos.

Monday: cornflakes, far too many cheese samples, massive tuna sandwich, far far *far* too many midget gems and duck with orange sauce again, but with chips (there were no new potatos.)

Today: midget gems, veggie sausage sandwich and two apples.

Also littered among the days were apples. Lotsalotsa apples! I like apples :p

So as you can see... Bron did pretty crappy. Although I didn't actually order any desert whilst I was out... though I did pinch quite a bit of Top Cat's Sticky Toffee pudding whilst we were at the pub :D It was extremely nice though!

And I suppose the free-climb counts for something, and I probably cold-sweated most of the week off out of sheer terror up there! Tell you what, I've never been so grateful for Top Cat ever, he really helped me, especially when I ended up getting stuck about 3 metres off the ground...

This week isn't going to be too hot either; I'm working again for the rest of the week, so I won't get chance to go swimming in the day, and the area isn't that nice, so I'd rather not go at night. What I will do is walk to/from work, as it's about 2 miles from there to home. Saves bus fare as well!

Cereal diet starts again tomorrow. Would have started today but with breakfast and lunch kind of merging into one, it's not quite working. What I may do is have some cereal now, then have vegatable soup later on, about 7/8 ish.

Sees you later,

Bronsk

Oooops!! I forgot about the skipping, and I promised too!! I will get to it at some point, but it has just been so hot, hasn't it.

Although you have had a lot of nice food this weekend, I still think you did well. Sounds like your only snacks were apples and a few sweets, and with meals I always think, well you have to eat don't you!

I'm not sure if you heard, but David Walliams has just swum the channel!! It took him 10.5 hours. I think I would be too freaked out thinking of all the fish and mammals swimming underneath me to do that, even if I was fit enough :D

Its great to have you back, Bronsk, and I know you are going to be really committed and do great this week.

Toodles Duckie!!

Hey Mrs B, thanks for all the support *big hugs*! It means a lot to me :)

No worries about the skipping! I think if I was at home I wouldn't have done a lot of skipping or stridding. I'm almost tempted to just take the bus tomorrow if it's really warm. Got to walk though, and it'll be easier to sweat everything off!

Looking back on what I've eaten, it doesn't seem that bad, but then I think about how I'd planned it all out then it just feels like I've not kept my word. It's hard when you're out and about though (that's no excuse though) and if someone's cooked a meal for you... My real regret is that bacon butty. Ick, that was nasty!

I'd heard about Walliams swimming the channel! The b@stard, I've nearly done 10 hours worth and I'm not even halfway there! Hopefully speed will come with training. Talking about swimming again, I really want to go tomorrow. Not going to have chance with Brownies as well. No matter, I have all next week as well. I may go every day if I get the chance.

Right, I'm going to find some water and watch LOST. Night night, *big hugs* and thank you so much :)

Bronsk

Hey, Bronsk.

With regards to Walliams and the channel, just remember, he was probably going with the tide for a lot of that, plus he was probably cold and that spurred him on to get over asap .... plus I heard reports that he may or may not have been being chased by a shark :D . Now how are you going to compete with that

It is very frustrating when other plans get in the way of exercise. Once again I am cramming in the overtime this week ..... they dangled that gold coloured carrot infront of me and like a mule I chased it .... and it does mean that I will not be able to do as much exercise. But I will try to do some, and like you say, make up next week when I haven't got as much on ;)

I watched the first series of Lost, but after they left the series without explaining anything to us I have 'lost' (teeheehee) my interest in it :p

Cheers, Duckie ;)

Hahaha! Chased by sharks! That's fab, I may have to get Top Cat to dress up with a shark fin and chase me up and down the pool :D

On the exercise front, I don't think I've done too badly. I walked to work, then to Top Cat's, then walked the long way home. Admittedly, I thought it was a short cut! So in all, about 6 miles, not including the walk around campus at work... I guess that makes up for not swimming!

I realised this afternoon that swimming may be postponed again because next week will be TOTM - joy. I don't feel comfortable swimming then. Either way, Top Cat's free all next week, so it means I get to see him more. We may also be going on a road trip, beacuse he needs his passport updating for Belgium in 3/4 weeks time. So I think a journey to the passport office in Leeds may be required.

So far food wise has been as follows:

cereal - 100
tuna & sweetcorn sanwich - 500
cheeeeeeeeeeeese - 100
2 apples - 160

then tea will be cereal (yay) - 100

So today, not including fruit juices, will be 960 kcals. So I don't feel too bad about only drinking fruit juices this evening. We have no bottled water, and I don't like tap (snob alert!)

Once cereal's finished, I'm going to try weaning onto soups. I normally have a whole tin, but will start having half. Or start having the weightwatchers variety, then I may actually be able to have some bread with it.

*hugs* Mrs B!

Bronsk

Hey Bronsk!! Great going on the walking, it definitely makes up for not swimming today. I don't blame you for not going next week, I don't like swimming when I have my TOTM either, and luckily you have a lot of strings to your bow.

You've done great with your cals today, plus the fruit juice you drink will take your total up to a decent amount. I hate tap water too - yick :p - tastes of chemicals. I always drink more water when I'm drinking bottled water.

And on the subject of soup, I do a veggie stir fry and add microrice and a third to a half of a tub of fresh soup (fresh soups have less salt ;) ) and it is delicious. Normally calories are 200 cals for half a bag of wholegrain microrice, I use 1 tsp oil (50 cals) and then just add water to stop it sticking after that, and the soup can be as low as 80-100 cals. So without veg, it is under 350 cals, and it is very substantial. Maybe you'll give it a go? :)

Well, congrats on a great day, and I'm glad you'll be able to spend lots of time with Top Cat (teeheehee :D) next week. I'll have to start calling you Dibble!!:D

Cheers Duckie ;)

PS - nearly forgot ... (((hugs))) ... its good to have you back!

Hey Bronsk, aren't you a sweetie, swinging by my diary, before you've had chance to update your own.

Just popped in to see how your day is going ..... toodles ;)
