The PAPrincess' Diary

Day # 618

Hi everyone. I had my weigh in last night. I lost a whopping (and I say that very sarcastically) 1.4 pounds. The counselor was very happy with that number. Of course she is, because the slower I lose weight the more potential money they can make off of me. I was expecting a higher number. I really stuck right on the diet plan and I walked nearly every day 3-4 miles at least. I was kind of upset about that low number. So, we adjusted my caloric intake. Instead of 1700 calories I'm now down to 1500 calories. When I was losing weight consistently on my own I was only taking in 1000-1200 a day. This could be the problem. I may start cutting out some of their "snacks" they suggest. Those add about 100-130 calories a day. I really don't need them. I told her I'm not ever hungry. Hunger isn't my problem. I eat because I'm bored or tired or happy or emotionally whatever...it's never from real hunger. Yes, it's a loss, but I'm bummed. For the price I'm paying, I would've expected a better return, like at least 3-4 pounds a week. The most frustrating part is all the effort I've been putting into exercising. I told myself I'd give it a full month and I will. I am beginning week three right now. So, at the end of the month if there isn't a major difference I will most likely just move along and return to doing it myself.... and saving some money in the process. Besides, I'm really getting tired of ditching everyone for meal's out. It's not that I eat out that much, but it's hard to have a date with no dinner involved. That's the staple of most dates. So far I've been successfully avoiding it, but that can only go on so long before they start questioning why. I'm not in the happiest or cheeriest of moods this a.m. because of this stagnant loss. I know 1.4 may be a great number to some, but truthfully, I'm used to pulling in such bigger numbers each week and it's frustrating that I'm paying a lot of money for such little return. I have a stressful week ahead of me, too. I have a ton of work to accomplish for the end of the semester. I've put off a few assignments too long and the deadlines are looming. The good news I've taken off this Friday, so that will allow me to get a good bit done if I haven't by then. I can't wait for May 3rd and to be finally done with this master's program. One good thing though - I finally finished my taxes. Just did the local ones today. I had to file twice because I moved. What a pain that was! Anyway, wishing you all a good day.

Day # 619

Hi Everyone... happy Sunny Wednesday. Doing ok today. I FINALLY got up early before work and got in a 2-mile walk. I went around the circle once with Teddy and Sadie and then the second time with Patsy and Sassy. I then did my ab machine and lifted some weights and hit the shower. I walked over the bridge from my car, so tonight I won't have to do any walking when I get home if I don't want. I will probably try to get the dogs around though, they do so much love the long walks. Breakfast was plain nasty. I had to eat the maple nut oatmeal. Now, I normally like oatmeal, but this stuff is just plain nasty. I will definitely make sure to NOT get that again, but then again, next week I am insisting that I be allowed to return to my smoothies for one week. Just to see if it makes a difference. Hey, every little penny I can save is worth it. Hopefully come Monday I'll have a bigger return on weight lost. That 1.4 sure was disheartening given all the extra walking I've been doing. I have a ton of work to get to, so I better get to it! Enjoy the day!

Day # 624

I need to get this email out early since I have such a busy day ahead of me. I have so much work to do. I sometimes wonder why I bother taking a day off. I just come back to a mess!

Anyway, did good all last week. I walked at least 4, if not 5, total miles each day. I stuck to the diet plan religiously. Friday I had the day off so I spent it doing a lot of yard work. My lawn is a lot more hilly than I thought, so that was a good workout. Plus, I weed-whacked the entire yard, it definitely needed it. I met my sister and once niece for lunch on Friday at McDonald's and I was glad that I did so well. I got a side salad and used the JC dressing I brought. I also got their fruit & walnut salad. I was pleasantly surprised that it was just the right size! I did have a low-fat frappucino when we went to the Starbucks at Target though. Jess and I figured it's probably only about 140 calories, I was pleasantly surprised it was only 110 according to their web site. So that's good to know.

On Saturday I had dog obedience and I ran around the parking lot a bunch of times with the dogs for two hours. Then I went shopping with Mom and sis and ended the night with a 2.2 mile walk around mom's circle with all four dogs. I figure that's a bit of a workout in it's own - holding on to all four dogs. Sassy is definitely a tugger.

Yesterday was my niece's first communion. She looked so adorable. There was SO much good food at her party after church. Bread dip.. uh, yum! Loaded with sour cream and mayo, what's not to love? Taco dip..DOUBLE YUM!!! I love taco dip. There was a vat of cookies. There was potato salad and fruit dip and breads and cake... and rigatoni, OH MY! I avoided it all. I brought a salad from home with my JC dressing and my little rigatoni meal I was supposed to have for lunch. I camouflaged my good eating pretty well among all the goodies and loaded up on the fresh fruit they had. There was a HUGE cake. My sister got a piece and I took a small sliver of a fork's worth from her. It was pretty tasty, but not good enough to warrant eating an entire piece. I was proud of myself for stopping at that one fork's worth. I didn't get in a walk yesterday, but even God took one day off, right? ;-) The day just flew by. I did manage some cleaning last night so vacuuming and bending over to pick up things has to count for something, right?

Today I weighed in on my own scale when I woke up. I haven't used my own scale in months. It lies, you know. Well, according to my own scale at home, I am down 11 pounds from the JC scale at the office. But, consider that when I weighed in last Monday it was in the evening after a whole day of eating and walking and this was first thing in the morning. Plus, two different scales. In any event, I was very thrilled with the number I saw on my home scale this morning. It is less than any of the numbers I ever saw in the past few months. Not once while on WW did I weigh this number. I'm hoping I'm not at this number for long, but for this morning, it was a great number! I walked over the bridge to work and I have another walk planned this afternoon and again when I get home. I'm hoping to hit at least 5 miles today.

Have a great day! I'm so busy, I better get back to work!

Day # 625

Thanks Jameson and Trucker!! :)

Hello everyone! I have to make this quick as I'm really swamped today and out of the office with filming most of the day. I weighed in last night. According to their scale, I lost 4 pounds. Suffice it to say, I like my scale that has me weighing in at -11 a lot better!! I told the JC rep her scale lies and is wrong. She just laughed. But, I wasn't kidding. That is a huge difference. In fact it's 7.6 pounds different actually. I did weight in first thing at home, so that may have a little to do with it, but not 7.6. UGH. But, hey, I'll take a four. Four is good. So, last night when I got home I walked 3 miles. That put me at about 5 miles for the day. Go me!

The big news of the week? I am back on the smoothies as of this morning! I told her it was too expensive for me to keep buying the breakfast foods when I really didn't care for them anyway. Not eating the breakfasts is saving me about $22 a week. YAY!! I'm all for saving! So, this morning I make a chocolate-soy-banana-peanut-butter smoothie. It was SO yummy and I'm so happy to be back on my smoothies. They make breakfast in the car so easy! Yum yum yum!

I walked to work today from the car and I'll walk back again after work. And, hopefully get in 3 miles again tonight. I do have to work on a paper, too. Today is flying by with my outside project, so I'm not getting much computer time. I am working too close to deadline this time...yikes!!

Enjoy the day!

Day # 627

Hey everyone. Had a busy couple of days here. I'm trying to wrap up the final semester of my grad program. I did get my one paper written and posted to the professor yesterday. I got 100%, thank you very much! Now I just have to finish my portfolio for my internship. Most of the pieces are near completion. I just have to finish formatting one manual and then write the other...I have parts of it done, just need to finish pulling it together. I'm not at panic mode quite yet. Technically grades aren't due for a week, so I could have a little more time to get it in. I just really wanted to have it done for tomorrow. We'll see. Anyway, I got in 3 miles yesterday. It rained in the evening, so I couldn't get back out. Today I tried to wake up early to walk, but to no avail. I think it's just a lost cause to even try the early mornings anymore. Today I only got in about 2 miles on the walk to and from the car. I was going to walk tonight, but I got caught up in lawn care hell. I hit a root of an old tree I didn't notice and bent the blade terribly. I had to run to Home Depot to get a new blade. I made it back and finished mowing just as it turned dark. So, I really didn't get a chance to walk. Rats!! I've been sticking to the diet really well. Had my smoothie again this morning for breakfast, yummo!! Chocolate-peanut-butter-banana. YUM. Hopefully I'll have a good weigh in on Monday.

Day # 632

Hi everyone. Sorry to have been a stranger for a few days. I had a busy weekend. I spent most of Saturday with my nieces. I stopped and picked them up donuts at Dunkin'. The kind with chocolate and strawberry frosting and sprinkles. I had a heck of a time resisting the temptation of buying myself an apple fritter...yummy goodness. But, I resisted. We then went to dog classes together and then to my mom's. At mom's I mowed most of her 1-acre yard with a push mower. Let me tell you I basically had to mow it twice the grass was THAT high! I ate well on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday I didn't do too much, but did manage to lift 10 40-pound sacks of top soil out of the store into the cart, out of the cart into the car, and out of the car into the garage. I think that counts as a good workout, don't you? Yesterday I called off sick due to massive migraine. I didn't exercise at all. I did drag myself to my JC meeting. With the addition of the smoothies back into my diet I lost 5.6 pounds since last Monday. YAY! That brings my total weight loss on JC to 20 point something. I can't remember the exact amount...but let's just say 20 pounds in just four weeks. I'm pretty glad for that. I hope I can keep that up. I had a different counselor than I usually do. This girl yesterday is very young and I don't really care for her. She was very annoyed that I don't buy their breakfasts and use the smoothies. She asked my why and I said because I need to save some money. Their foods are pretty pricey and I don't like the breakfast choices anyway. Then she went on and on about how if I stop consistently losing weight using the smoothies, I should switch back to breakfasts. I said if that time came, I'd give it some thought. But honestly, 5.6 pounds in one week is pretty good, don't you think? And, I love the taste of the smoothies. They are just pushing their product. Also, I'm hoping to start swimming soon, so that will help with activity level. Plus, I'll continue walking. It's easier to lose or at the very least maintain weight for me in the summer months. I'm always outside. I need to go south for the winter perhaps? ;-) Have a good day!

Day # 633

Hi everyone! I had a late night last night shopping. I didn't even find what I really wanted to get at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but oh well. Such is life. I did manage to waste a good bit of time in Target though. I made it home with enough daylight to get all the topsoil deposited into one of the big holes. It took 10 40-pound bags to fill. Wow. Lots of heavy lifting. Then I managed to crawl around the block twice with the dogs. So, I got in about 4 miles yesterday.

This morning I dragged myself out of bed early so I could get my walk in before work since it's my late day. I want to mow the lawn tonight, so I knew I wouldn't be able to get it in then. I got in three miles before work and then approx. one mile from my car to work. So, today I should get in darn close to 5 miles. Yay me. Plus, then I'll mow and weed whack...it's a lot hillier than I thought, so that counts, too!

Had my PB-Chocolate-Soy-Banana smoothie for breakfast. Yum! And, some frozen grapes. You should give them a try. Just freeze grapes and they are so yummy. The best icy texture. For lunch I have a JC southwestern burrito. They are pretty good. I also have yogurt and fruit and a cheesestick. Should hold me over until this evening. I hope the rain holds off so I can get the mowing done!

Hope you're having a good day.

Day # 639

Sorry I haven't posted in a few. I was so busy last week and the weekend. I had graduation and then my niece's first communion. Just been overwhelmed with activity! I didn't eat so great on Sunday. I actually allowed myself to cheat a bit too much because it was a big celebration weekend. I had cake, lots of it - it was yummy! Jess made it. And, I had bread dips and taco dips and cheeses...OH MY! Not the best of choices, but I permitted myself to splurge.

Yesterday I got right back on the wagon. I had my smoothie for breakfast, a salad and pizza for lunch and then the fettuccini for dinner. Biggest deal yesterday is that I allowed my friend to strong-arm me into joining the YMCA. (You know who you are, Peg!) I thought I would start swimming. But, the exercise Nazi talked me into doing 2 miles on the treadmill first. I HATE the treadmill, but I did it. Off she went to spinning class and off I went to the pool. I swam more than 40 laps. I kind of lost track, but I know for sure I did 40. Correct me if I'm wrong former swim team members reading this...but isn't that 1000 meters? It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't push myself to swim really fast either. I just took my time and got in the laps. Walking across the bridge to my car I felt SO tired. If someone had tried to mug me I would've gladly given up whatever I had - I was that pooped!

After that workout I headed to JC for my weekly weigh in. I fully anticipated being up on the scale because of my Sunday foodfest and because I had walked three miles and swam 1000 meters right before weighing in. I was definitely waterlogged. I was happily surprised to find I was minus 1.4 pounds. The rep was more than thrilled with that number. But after weeks of 8 and 5 pound losses, I wasn't as thrilled. I know that the real weight loss number is probably a little higher because I had just done all that activity and spent 45 minutes in the pool. So, I'm fairly pleased with that number. Hopefully next week's weigh in will be a little more. I need to find a time to go to JC sometime first thing in the morning before any activity..it's just so hard to get there in the morning and fight traffic back to work.

Should be able to keep up the activity level this week. I'm hoping to head off to the gym at least 4 nights this week. I think I'll take Friday night off. I definitely need to clean sometime this week! Tonight I'm hoping to get the grass mowed after the gym. Hopefully I'll have enough daylight left. Wish me luck!

Have a good day.

Day # 640

Been a busy couple of days here at work. Not with work, but with meetings that keep taking me out of the office. Anyway, yesterday I did food good. I worked out at the YMCA after. The Nazi made me lift weights. I do not like it. I think I actually, dare I say it, prefer the treadmill to it. So after that little session I headed off to the pool. Now the pool I like. I did at least 46 laps. I kind of lost count again. So, we'll mark it down as another 1000 meter day for sure. Today I got up early (but not early enough) and got in a one-mile walk with one of the dogs before work. I wanted to get in two miles, but I hit the snooze button too long. I could've eeked out another mile, but it would have been cutting it dangerously close to getting ready on time to leave for work. So, I'll shoot for mile # 2 at home tonight. I also walk to and from the car, so by day's end I should have a good 4 miles in. I'm also going to go swim tonight. And, then hopefully if there is time get my mowing done. I hope the rain holds off! It's looking pretty gloomy out! I had my smoothie for breakfast and then we had a lunch today for a meeting I was at. I had a sliver of a piece of carrot cake, so I really should get in extra exercise because of that. It was SO yummy.

Day # 641 On the Good Ship Lollipop

Burn, there IS a Pittsburgh triathalon? Do you have details?

Hey all... I forced myself to swim last night. I pulled in 1000 meters. I had to share a lane with some guy who I swear was on the Olympic team. He kept buzzing by me. I tried to keep up. He pushed me to swim without breaks, so I was in and out of the pool in just about 30 minutes. Normally I putz along for about 45. I then did some shopping on the way home, so that sucked all my time up for mowing or walking. Today I won't get a chance either. I didn't walk to work because it was pouring rain. It's still raining now.

Tonight we are going on a Cruise for our staff. It's a Hawaiian theme, so I'm wearing a white sundress with some flowers. And, I have my hair super curly. I look like an old woman trying to channel a young Shirley Temple or something. I do look mighty cute in my new dress. And, it's a size 16, woohoo. I probably could've squeezed into a 14 and should have gotten the smaller size. But, oh well, mom will just have to take it in when the time comes. Today is a foodfest. We were fed lunch again at a meeting. I had a big salad and a sliver of an apple dessert. I actually shared it with another counselor. And, tonight on the boat I'm sure they'll have only healthy low-cal, low-fat choices. (Yeah, right!) I'll just try to do my best. I probably will get absolutely no exercise in today. SO today will be my Sunday (the day I normally take off.) Rats. That means Sunday I will have to do something! YUCK.

Hope it's not as rainy where you are!

Day # 654

Greetings all! Long time, no type! I had a busy couple of weeks. I was away in New York for a long weekend and just am now getting back in the swing of things. I ate ok in NYC. I didn't limit myself and I did have desserts when we went out (they were usually included in our dinners.) But, we walked everywhere. I made my girlfriend and I walk to the Serendipity shop (from the movie) to get the dessert. It was several avenues over and many blocks... it took forever. But, I felt good about it because we were pre-burning calories. I also forced myself awake at 6 a.m. each morning and went the fitness center for an hour. I felt really good about it all............ then I went to JC on Monday evening at 7:20 to weigh in. The scale said I GAINED four pounds. That is insane! Eating like a "normal" person for just a few days made me GAIN weight? That's nuts given all the exercise I did. I was really ticked. I told her that four pounds is simply not accurate. I may have gained one or even two, but not four. I had just worked out before I arrived and it was the evening after a full-day's activity. So, my plan next week is go first thing on Tuesday morning early and weigh in before work. That simply is ridiculous...four pounds. I don't believe it! Not at all! Not after all those 6 a.m. workouts!

So, I'm back in my normal routine. Smoothies for breakfast and the JC food for lunch and dinner. Yesterday I worked out after work at the Y and swam 1000 meters and walked the treadmill. I also did some exercises at home as well. I'll do the same tonight, too. Although last night I was trying to get done in an hour, tonight I'll have more time to swim longer. Hopefully I'll kick this bogus four pounds off in no time. I do have a cute wedding outfit to fit into by August 30th. If I can lose even 10 pounds a month, I can definitely fit into it! Wish me luck!

Day # 661

Hey everyone. Sorry to have not written for a week or so. I got pretty busy with things. A few highlights of the week.... I have been hitting the YMCA as much as possible. I normally walk 2 miles on the treadmill and then move to the recumbent bike for another 3. Then, I hit the swimming pool for about 45 minutes. According to one web site that tells me I burn about 320 calories in the pool alone, plus the 250-300 I burned on the treadmill and bike. (I love that the Y machines tell you that number!) As for the pool, it's really a guesstimate. Another web site tells me:

Burning Calories
When you swim breaststroke or backstroke, you burn about the same number of calories as you would by walking fast or jogging slowly. More vigorous swimming will, obviously, burn more calories. For the average woman, doing the front crawl vigorously for 30 minutes will burn about 350 calories.

So, I'm going to go with about 325 calories burned for the swimming. I was thinking of cutting out the swimming because of the number it's doing to my acrylic nails and hair (highlights) but holy bejeezus! I better keep it up! That burns an incredible amount of calories.

This past weekend was so-so. I went into it ok. Went to see a movie on Saturday night with my good friend and baby sis. Then on to Eat 'n Park where I got a salad and low-fat no sugar ice cream. I was proud to resist temptations! On Sunday I went on a 12-mile bike ride. Not bad for the first time out this season. I didn't die, always a good thing! Monday I went to my sister's house for a picnic and against my best judgement ate crap I shouldn't have. I knew it as I was putting it into my mouth, but I did it anyway. I really have to work on my self control! I had to eat out a bunch of lunches and dinners over the past week, so I figured when I went in to weigh in last night (after a 2-hour workout and swim) I would be up or at least the same as last week's weight. To my momentous surprise, I was DOWN SEVEN POUNDS! Glory, glory hallelujah! So, had I not eaten all that crap on Monday, I might have been down another pound or two! That is outstandingly brilliant! So, I will definitely keep up the swimming. I am at my lowest as far as JC is concerned. I have lost just shy of 24 pounds since I started their plan about 7½ weeks ago. It would be less, but I took that long weekend of eating right off when I went to NYC. But, for this week, given the smilie cookies and taco dip I inhaled on Monday, I am very happy with the 7-pound loss. I think I need to consider going to a therapist to figure out why I have such a true love affair with food. When I'm good, I'm SO good, but when I'm bad........lock up the fridge because there's no stopping me! Today though, I'm good. :) Had my smoothie breakfast, my JC lunch and I'll have my JC dinner. Should be a no-brainer kind of day when it comes to food. But, I won't get in any exercise. I have plans after work and probably won't get home in time to go on more than a 2-mile walk with the dogs. But, hey, 2 miles is 2 miles, right? Better than no miles!

Have a great day!

Day # 667

I've been so busy the past week. So, here are the highlights...

Friday - Started feeling really sick - terrible sore throat.

Saturday - forced myself to do yardwork...got really dizzy, took a rest, went to see a movie, got a migraine, couldn't eat dinner (so unusual) but did force down low-fat ice cream. Ice cream always makes it better!

Sunday - Didn't feel great, but did force myself to the bike trail with a friend. We biked 20 miles. Not bad for a sick girl. I did take a few stops though. Ate hunk of bread at Panera's for lunch, but figured some of the 20 miiles enabled me to do so guilt-free. They stopped selling my favorite tomato soup - I am not happy with them.

Monday - Worked out hard despite the fact I am still not well. Did 2 miles on the treadmill at 1.0 incline and set at 4.2 speed. Then, did 3 miles on the bike. And, followed with 1000 meter swim.

Headed off to JC and weighed in. I am down 5.2 pounds in the last week. GO ME! That puts me down 29 pounds exactly since I started the program (minus my smoothie breakfasts).

Did well today so far... not able to work out tonight though.

Gotta keep this short, sorry...

Day # 682

Hi Gang... been super busy for a few weeks now. Been doing ok, exercisewise. I've been biking a few times and getting in lots of YMCA time. I lost 2 pounds at last week's weigh in and was down 31 pounds overall. I weighed in this morning and I'm up 1.2 pounds. This after a 17-mile bike ride on Monday and an hour plus treadmill and swim last night. Makes no sense other than it's my time of the month. So, she said to expect some water weight gain. That kind of ticks me off - dumb female stuff. I also officially hate their scale. It is a good 7 pounds higher than mine is at home. I am going by my home number. I like it. It's lower.

I've been doing ok for food, too. I splurged a little at my sister's party on Sunday, but am right back on track. Smoothies for breakfast and lunch this past week and then the JC dinners for the most part. So, I know I lost weight. Dumb scale. It lies!

I'm busy at work..so I better get back to it... have a good one! I probably won't get to write again until next week. I'm off on Friday and Monday and that throws off my email capabilities.

Day # 695

It occurred to me that I haven't written in a few weeks. I just got so busy. Busy with work, busy with being off a few days a week, busy with summer fun, just busy. I've been doing so-so on the diet. With all the time off and dinners out I've been having lately it's hard to stay completely on track. Other than last Saturday's trip to the amusement park, I've been keeping pretty good with calories. But, I did cheat a good bit on Saturday. Ice cream anyone?? Loads of yummy potato salad? YUMMMMEEEE! Also, being off at least one day a week has thrown my work out schedule into a tizzy. I did force myself to work out last night for 2½ hours at the gym. I did 3 miles on the bike, 3 miles on the treadmill and then swam 1000 meters. I am heading out to (guess where?) dinner with a friend tonight, so I won't get any exercise in. So far today I've had a smoothie for breakfast, some fruit and a JC carbonara pasta for lunch. Oh, and some yogurt. Not too too bad. We're heading Red Robin for dinner. I'm certain I can just get a salad. I should be ok. So that's my diet life in a nut shell. (mmm, nuts!) Oh, yesterday my friend and I saw the best car ever! It was a little hot pink Dunkin Donuts car, about the size of a mini cooper. And, it had this HUGE cup of java on the back of it. Oh, how I do love the donuts. I heard they are moving one into Market Square, which is dangerously close to our office. I.............MUST..............AVOID.......................THE....................DONUTS!!! Wish me luck!

Day # 715

It has been a very long time since I updated, July 1st, in fact. I just got so busy. I've been off work every Friday and a few Mondays and when I get back in I'm just so busy getting caught up that I can't write. And, I try not to do too much computer work at home. I've had a lot of side projects going on as well. Plus, it's summer. Anyway, craziness aside I thought I'd catch up for a few minutes.

In a nutshell I haven't been doing so hot. The past few weeks have been so crazy and I've been eating so badly. Eating that includes, but is not limited to, donuts, ice cream, and late-night trips to Eat'n'Park to gab and stuff face with sisters. I must stop. I am putting a halt to it starting today! It also didn't help that I haven't weighed in at JC for three weeks due to my crazy schedule. I went yesterday, but was so afraid to step on the scale, I told her next week. I am going to do much much better starting today. I'm off to a good start. I had a chocolate smoothie for breakfast and a cup of frozen grapes in the car. I'm working on a diet soda now because I have a headache and I thought the caffeine would help. Sometimes it does. For lunch I have fruit, yogurt, and a southwestern bean/rice micro dinner. And, snack is a nectarine and cheese stick. I have dinner plans out tonight. That's also been doing me in. Everyone wanted to meet for dinner last week. It has been so crazy ... I've been eating out way too much!

I haven't been going to the gym as much as I should. See above reason. I've been going out to dinner to catch up with friends I haven't seen in ages and justifying that as a reason to miss the gym. And, forget about waking up early to work out. I have tried. I NEVER works out. The last time I was at the gym was LAST Monday. UGH. I did go on a 10-mile bike ride on Friday and then another 20 miles on Saturday. So, at least I got that in. I would've went further on Friday, but I had my nieces with me and their little legs simply couldn't go that far. I also discovered this morning a new on-ramp to the Montour Trail which is a lot closer to my house. So that's a good thing. I can start riding there instead of driving out to Robinson to meet up with a friend. I brought my gym gear with me tonight. I'll be hitting the gym at 4:30 and then going to dinner after. I figure if I at least force myself to work out, I can justify the dinners out, right?

Hope everyone has a good day. Mine started off quite hectic and because of being late due to the hecticity (not a word, I know) I will not be able to take a lunch and I have to stay 30 minutes late today. I'm so annoyed as the weather looks gorgeous outside. Maybe I can sneak out for a few minutes of sunshine and fresh air. Happy Monday!

Day # 717

I keep getting bogged down with actual work at work...if you can believe that? The nerve! Doing well this week. Had dinner out on Monday evening and ate more pasta than I should have, but it was yummy and I did work out prior to, so I pre-burned it. Right? That's how it works, right? ;-) Yesterday I followed the diet perfectly. Had my smoothie for breakfast and two JC meals for lunch and dinner. I worked out last night at the YMCA. 3 miles on the bike, 3 miles on the treadmill and 1000 meters in the pool. And, I'm proud to say that today I dragged my butt out of bed EARLY to walk. I did three miles with various dogs. Two miles were with 3 # weights. And, I did my smoothie and smart lunch and snack today as well. I'm heading to the gym very shortly to work out again. I'll probably only get in 2 miles treadmill, 3 miles bike and 1000 meters pool. But, then I will walk the bridge to the car, which is an additional mile. So by day's end I'll have a good 5 miles of walking in. WOOHOO. I'm sure I can manage to eat sensibly when I get home. Now, let's see if I can keep up this morning walking routine. I guess it's not really a routine yet since it was only one day. How many days does it take to become a routine? In any event I hope to be up early tomorrow and walk again prior to work. The dogs really love it.

Have a good night!
