The New Me, miracles of modern science...

There's just something about a man on a motorcycle....

My husband has a custom '77 Harley Sportster. It's been hard to find time to ride with 4 little girls now though.

Ok - warning. Sappy story to follow...
Years ago, shortly after getting his bike he started to have this re-occuring dream where he was sitting on his bike looking out over a lake watching a woman with long hair walk towards him along the shore. He could never see her face though. She comes up to him and reaches for a pair of chaps laying across the seat behind him. As she puts them on she says "We'd better get back honey - the kids will be worried about us." She climbs on behind him and wraps her arms around him. The way she hung on to him was 'unique'. He said he realized the woman was his wife, but he couldn't see her face. All he knew was she was tiny and had long hair. And the way she hung on when riding behind him was different.

Fast forward a few years. At the time he was dating my so called best friend. We found out about the same time that my current boyfriend was cheating on me with my best friend, his girlfriend. I was walking home from somewhere one afternoon and he drove up to me on his Harley. He asked me if I would be interested in getting a little revenge on the 2 of them by going out with him some time. I said sure and he asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. He tells everyone that the second I hopped on he knew that I was the woman in his dream and that some day I would be his wife because I hung on to him the exact same way she did.

Sorry for hijacking your thread!

Great story Tig. My husband said that the minute he saw me he recognized me as being the girl that he had seen in his head and knew that we would end up getting married despite the fact that we didn't speak the same language at the time. 27 years later we're as happy as ever.
Sorry for hijacking your thread!
Yep, me too :) You'll soon get used to us lot, we're always jumping about from thread to thread.

Anna - Beginning of December. And Jamaica is beautiful in some areas. The resort we stay at has a bit of a reputation for being "open minded"

Flumes - Jeeps are still about being topless right?

Ooh JJJay wow! My dad was a collector, and had a tremendous cllection of British iron for a while. BSA Goldstars and Lightnings, a few Velocettes, a Matchless, A 1970 Norton 750 Commando (Styled after a Manx when he was done with it), and his Crown Jewel, a 1951 Vincent Rapide. So yeah, I have a soft spot for them. I love the Thruxton, but I'm so tall that I can't ride one for any length of time with the rearset pegs.

Now ladies... as for the resort... Last year was the first ime we went there. Dropping your suit takes about 2-3 drinks the first time and about 30 seconds after you see the sign that says "Nude Beach - No Photography". Of course we have a picture of the sign... And the thing is, that after a little while, you end up not mentally taking note of people in the naked sense. Sure, you still look at them, and yes... of course you have pervy thoughts, but things likesize and shape and such make so little difference. TBH, I would say that anyone suffering from poor self image shouldgo there and they would walk away feeling completely different. One week there would beat years of therapy, and probably cost less besides!

Tig, and Ecky, please always feel free to hijack, any time you like. I welcome it actually and will probably do the same to yours someday... (btw, very cool story... I'll tell y'all about my meeting with my wife someday...)

I think there'd be a lot more snickering than perving going on!!!!

Oh...I'd definitely be perving!! I can find something pervable in most men!! I think it could almost be classed as a talent! See below for my love of all things "classic" and old hahah!

Nice set of work outs Cabbie - 13 miles spinning particularly! I got to get back on my bike!

What a fantastic collection of bikes your dad had - am massively jealous! I'd love to have a load of classic bikes and space to potter around tinkering with them. Its definitely on my list of things to save for - don't know whether a sailing boat is above or below the motorbike...we'll see when I get the cash together!

First, You and I would get along well I'm guessing :D

Dad gave up th ebikes though. He's getting on in years now and doesn't entirely feel like his skills are as sharp as they once were. So he switched to hot rods. His car is below.

Your dad's car is SO FREAKIN' COOL!!!! I love it!

As for the Jamaican nude beach - I suppose if everyone else were doing it, it would make you feel weird or out of place if you were the only one wearing a suit? I'm not sure 2 to 3 drinks would be enough to take the plunge the first time though.

I think it would definately be interesting to see real nude bodies though - not like what you see in professional photo shoots or porn. I'm sure there are those who have had help from a cosmetic surgeon, but I'm guessing most in those types of places don't? I'd also be curious to see examples of what the human body looks like as it ages, so I know what I have to look forward to (or to dread?).

Great job on the exercises! Weights and strength training aren't my strong suit. I'd much rather do cardio - especially running!

Although I sure as heck wouldn't do any running on a nude beach! :ack2:

Interesting perspective, because one of the things you realize first is that, there is no such thing as a perfect body. Period. Take off anything that covers or accents, and guess what? The perfect little size 4 has scars, or her boobs have been done, or... yeah there are no perfect ones. Another thing, the outside layer of defense is down, so people sort of become automatically nicer and more accepting if that makes any sense? This resort tends to be more open. It's not a "naturist" resort. It definitely leans towards partying, and the overtones are sensual and playful, although not generally in your face. So perviness is accepted... as long as it is done with a sense of humor and amongst consenting folks...

No running on the nude beach? Dammit...

So I'm struggling with my calculus class. I'm taking a few classes to finish up my degree, but dammti it's been so long since I've done real engineering math. Sigh... all I need to do is make it through the semester with a passing grade and move on, since this is the last level of math I need to take. Plenty of other applied math courses related to the specific aspects of engineering I'm working towards, but most of them are not as complex.

On the other hand, I did get 15.9 miles of spinning in today. My current total of spinning miles over the last 5 1/2 weeks is 430, so about 78 miles per week average. During the summer months those would be outdoor miles on a real bike but during the school year and colder weather time and environment force me indoors.

Six more weeks until I go on vacation...

This could be highly dangerous to myself and people standing nearby. Wouldn't want anyone to be knocked out, and I wouldn't want to trip over the boobage and fall on my face. So unless I have on at least 2 sports bras, running is NOT a good idea.

Guess I could always do what I do when I have to run for some reason and find myself without a sports bra on.... Grab one in each hand and hold on to them as I run!

Oh dear...

I'm getting a chuckle out of the image though :smilielol5:

tried to hit the gym this morning after work, but before class. Well, it turns out the football team has an organized workout on mondays and wednesdays, so I got one set of squats in and 20 people descended upon the free weight room... I knew I wasn't going to get any bench time so I decided to drop the resistance work out today and do it tomorrow instead. Did 17.3 miles of spinning instead.

The class went okay... I'm still feeling like I'm barely above water in this class. I hate calculus. All I want to do is pass it and move on, GPA doesn't matter, I'll never use it again but... I need it for my degree, so, I'm stuck.

Went home slept, woke up this afternoon and felt drained... Like maybe I'm coming down with something... Head's stuffy, feels like I'm in a fog and have to work all night...

Okay done complaining now....

ooh. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Nothing more frustrating too when you want a workout and the whole place fills up (especially with football players!! Although I'm not sure I'd be complaining, personally!!).

I havent' been to the gym in months...I've been enjoying running outdoors so much that I'm now worried that I'll get bored in a gym without all this stuff to look at as I run by! Ironic considering I didn't run outside for ages becuase I didn't think I'd be able to stick it without a tv to distract me!! First frost of the season yesterday though (-4 as I left at 6.30am) so I'm going to have to "go inside" for exercise soon!

Calculus is a bit of a mind fuddle - I remember having to do it for a-level maths.

LOL I thought that I was the only one that did that. When we went away for the weekend my husband and myself were the only ones in the hotel gym and I forgot to put 2 bras on and that was exactly what I did for my run. It made us laugh as we thought that there might be a whole bunch of people watching me on the security camera and thinking that I was a weird person.

Nope, you aren't the only one!

Cabbie - I know what you mean about the calc class. I HATED it in high school and college. And because I didn't like it, it was like I had some sort of mental block about the whole thing which made it even worse! I may have gotten good grades in all my math classes, but I detested every minute of it. I thought most of it was a waste of time because I could see no purpose to doing 30 problems/exercises that were all the same. Either you knew how to do it or you didn't. It's not like practicing makes a bit of difference. I never understood that part. I think math instructors just like to torture their students!

Actually, a friend of mine married a college math professor and I asked him one time why they assign so many problems of the same type. His answer? He loves math and thinks it's fun to do problems. He assumed everyone else got the same enjoyment out of it that he did. It was more like a hobby to him, and it was something he enjoyed spending time doing.

I told him he should get a life! :coolgleamA:

Here you girls go, hijacking my thread with talk about holding breasts and such... any time you'd like ladies... :)

I am feeling better. The stuffy thing might have been allergies yesterday, and I think I had a sugar reaction to something I ate last night which threw me off. My system doesn't process sugar quite like it used to and occasionally I have a reaction. Anyhow, I'm much better today.

Thursday workout:
Squats - 5x5x185 (+5) I was up 5 last time and now again

Bench - 5x5x120 This was a big deal to me. It took me years to build up to a decent weight prior to my surgery, and just a couple months to lose it afterwards. I'm finally seeing the numbers going in the right direction here.

Inverted Rows - 3XF 8/7/6

Reverse crunches - 3x20

Pushups - 3XF 6/6/5 yay! + 2 reps

Cardio - 11.5 miles spinning. Jumped on one bike the same time as a student got on the other one. He asked me if I wanted to race. We started the same time, went for 25 minutes, I beat him by just under a mile. I rock! showin' up kids half my age...

LOL!!!! This really made me chuckle as its exactly how I feel about tax! OMG I am such a geek. But to have a problem, have to take it apart, fiddle with all the bits and put it back together again to get a solution, well...what can I say...its FUN!

Cabbie - YAY for beating the young guy!!!! Haha I bet he was suprised! Good for you!

We have to hold our boobs otherwise it hurts!! Running downstairs without a bra is literally the worst thing ever. Apart from running out of crumpets.

Well done on beating the young guy! Glad you're feeling better too--I'm still hacking up a lung.

Yeah, I think most "larger" women have done the "impromptu run for the bus holding both bosums in hands!!!!"
