The Motorcycle Diary

No lie. Over the past three weeks I have had three dreams where I eat something that's way off my diet and worry about how I'm going to enter the calories into my Food Log. :willy_nilly:

how strange i was thinking about dreams just now as i started to read this!!

noticed on another thread you mentioned you were a veggie...me too (although i admit i'm a naughty one who eats fish...as long as it has no eyes or head on it...denial is awondeful thing) anyway...do you ever have a dream where you think you've eaten meat & wake up convinced you have??!! or is it just me??

new develpoment lately...is that i wake up from a dream about george clooney...convinced me & george have just been getting busy hahaha...yeah in my dreams only...damn!!! in my defence its been a while...;)

(notice how to make a dirty joke using a pun on 'meat eating' would have been so easy?? but not me i'm a lady...anyway its sunday...gods day & he may not approve!! :newangel:)

ps do you have quorn in the US?? great for stirfrys/spagbol etc. plus quorn sausages are yummy...sorry back to 'meat' again...its mushroom based...the quorn i mean not meat...oki i'll stop now before i put anymore drivel on your diary page!! have a nice sunday...

lol, you're a trip.

Yes, I have had dreams where I eat meat and wake up disappointed in myself. I had similar dreams when I quit smoking, when I temporarily quit drinking, every time I'm trying to lose weight, etc. I also have the "didn't study for a test" dream every time I procrastinate. George Clooney though? That's one dream I can say I have not had. :D

As for Quorn, I just looked it up and apparently my grocery store sells some of their products, though I can't recall ever seeing them. I also just read something about controversy over describing their food as a mushroom based product, when it's really made from a non-mushroom fungus. It also looks like some of their products use battery eggs. Further research is required :)

Thanks Cinderelly, and nope, I can't taste the spinach. The sweetness of the fruit and berries over powers the bitterness of the veggies.

So I woke up highly motivated this morning with big plans of starting my cardio program. I did some early morning grocery shopping, took my dog to the park, made some lunch, and then ... fell asleep, lol. :banghead: It was a long nap too! Oh well, nothing to beat myself up over.

I'm thinking of purchasing a new upright exercise bike. I used to love them back when I was exercising regularly. I might do a little window shopping tomorrow, even though it's so embarrassing to try out exercise equipment at this weight!

You gotta start someone Hun:)Never be embarrassed by the fact that you are working on improving your life style and getting healthier:D!!!

I have a recumbrant bike and I love it but the uprights hurt my ass, LOL!!!

Your dog is a beauty:)But im in love with that bike, hahahaha...(Earlier, I was gonna say it is the type of bike ya wanna lay naked on and be made sweeet love to:reddevil:LOL

Ive always been into Harleys BUT that one is enough to open one's eyes a bit!!!

Hhhmmm ive never had dreams like that but...ya know your just restarting right, maybe it is your fear of failure kicking in ya know, your unknown sabatoge...

Your here your doing it and you will do it:)

Well if that isn't motivation to get back in motorcycle shape I don't know what is! lol. Perhaps the ladies about town will share your perspective :coolgleamA:

In update news, today was a very good day. I took my dog to the park twice, morning and evening, and tossed the Frisbee for her until my arm couldn't take it anymore. I almost worked up the energy to hop on my bike or treadmill around noon but I wussed out for some reason. Fortunately I had an evening surge of energy and didn't waste any time making use of it.

I ended up hopping on my recumbent stationary bike and doing one of the preset programs for 30 min after a 5 min warm up. The bike tells me I burned 60 calories, but the bike doesn't know how out of shape I am and how hard I had to work for that 30 min!!! :ack2: I can already tell that my butt is going to be too sore to ride again tomorrow, so I'm going to plan on using the treadmill tomorrow after work. From there on out I'll alternate between the two for awhile taking one day off per week. If I can keep this up through Friday I'll cross out Goal #8! Woot!

Edit: Just for the record I did terrible on my water this weekend. Yesterday I think I had one glass of water, one cup of coffee and a diet soda by dinner time. Terrible! It's easy to get enough water during the work week because I make it part of my daily routine. My weekends are kind of all over the place so I just don't think about it.

By the way, tomorrow I'll be going to a restaurant for the first time since starting this new program a little over two weeks ago. We're going to Ruth's Chris, which is a steak house in case you've never heard of it.

Seeing as how I'm a vegetarian I've already checked out the menu out online and determined that there's only one entree I can eat... "Marinated Portobello mushrooms on our garlic mashed potatoes, with grilled asparagus, broccoli, tomatoes and sizzling lemon butter." Sounds delicious, but I think I'll make do without the butter.

Being the nerd that I am what bothers me most is that I won’t be able to accurately log my meal! Oh well, the experience will probably be good for me.

:)Well as for the bike comment, LOL:smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:

And the recumbrant it is a bitch of a bike, I rode mine last night for 1hr and 45mins...the longest yet...12.25 miles...i could hardly walk when i got off it...I was watching tv so good distraction.

Water is a hard one...just keep truckin with that one, I use to be good with it when i worked but not other times. Now it is all i pretty much drink lately anyway.

a trip?? i like that...never been called that before though someone did call me a pistol once. WTF?? me??! i'm very shy & retiring...a wallflower in fact...though i'm also a bit of a drama queen & could lie for england :newangel:

as for quorn...battery eggs??!! no say it ain't so!!!

hey, just touching base here and chiming in. go! go! go! Good job at hitting the bike today. DOnt' let that calorie count on the machines bother you. But even if you only burned 60 cals, it 60 calorie more loss than would have been. and its all going to a new you. I wish the weather hear was better, i could definitely go for a few hours of tennis. good core workout and INSANE cardio. Spring can't come soon enough..... I highly recommend finding a sport to play, it helps you burn without the boredom and hassle. the best part is that you look forward to it! I am all about tennis and bowling.

re quorn...

no alls well...thank goodness!!

i checked on a packet of quorn i have...

ingredients: mycoprotein 88%/free range eggs/roasted barley malt extract.

That's good to hear. I'll have to look for some of that stuff the next time I hit the grocery store.

So yeah, I just got back from my night at the restaurant and I'd say I did very well under the circumstances. I had the marinated portabella mushrooms with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes. Excellent! The colleague I was dining with insisted I have desert so I choose the best option of the bunch, a sorbet. The crème brulee was pretty tempting though!

I was a little disappointed not to get any exercise in today. I made plans to run on the treadmill after work, but between taking my dog to the park and getting ready for the evening there just wasn't enough time. No worries though, there's always tomorrow.

HI there!!!

hmmmm....portobello mushrooms :drool5:!!! You dinner sounds YUMMY!!! Keep up the good cooking!!! :)

Yummy indeed, Alta! I wish I could cook like that at home.

Another great day for me. When I arrived home from work (and after taking my pup to the park) the last thing I wanted to do was workout, but I forced myself to lace up those tennis shoes and get moving.

I ended up doing 30 minutes on my exercise bike and 10 hard minutes pounding away on my heavy bag. :boxing: Heavy bag is excellent for stress relief btw. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to spend some time on my treadmill but I think I'm just too damn fat because the tread would stick for the very briefest of moments each time I landed a step. lol. Seeing as how I'm saving up for a new motorcycle I really don't have the money to invest in a new treadmill at the moment so I guess I'll make due with the bike and boxing for now. Hopefully when I lose some weight the treadmill will become usable again.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Hey bud, hows it going, haven't posted here for a bit... Hmm, Lemme see, how could I tell that Cerella would be in here? oh, yeah, the motorcycle... :D
