The mind is the enemy

I get into those moods sometimes. Just being like, oh one more day of poor eating isn't going to hurt. But a week later and still eating bad and it will!
Hope you're able to get back on track and think more in the now!

Tuesday Recap:

Breakfast: Steel cut oats, sweetened with maple syrup and brown sugar
Snack: Almonds and fig newtons
Lunch: Smoothie
Snack: Homemade zucchini muffin
Dinner: Pasta Bolognese
Snack: 2 Oreos and 1 serving of chips

Exercise: Day 9 - 1.5 miles in 16:49. Did my pushups... I'm using an app that gradually increases your number each time, but I can't do standard pushups so I do them at an inline using my bureau. Hopefully if I can stick with it I can work my way up to a few real ones eventually! Also, I started my day with a short yoga video that was mostly easy stretching.

The snacking was a bit heavy yesterday. I don't even really like fig newtons, so it's silly that I eat them. Lunch should have included some leftover pork but I was barely excited about it on Monday, it certainly didn't make me excited on Tuesday. And the oreos and chips..... well, I have no explanation for those.

Oh, I keep forgetting to thank a couple of you for a product recommendation. I believe it was LaMa and LJ (correct me if I'm wrong) who said they've used those roll-up puzzle mats to put away jigsaw puzzles in between sessions. Well, I had been eyeing one for a while so I finally ordered it and it's working out great. Since I do anything from 500 to 3000 pieces I got a GIANT one, but I'm only doing 1000 right now. It seems like overkill at the moment but I'll appreciate it later!

Yay for puzzle mats! And for push ups, incline or no. You can always reduce the inclination with time and that´ll get you to the floor in no time.

Wednesday Recap:

Breakfast: Grape nuts along with grapes and cherries
Lunch: Restaurant salad - honey chicken with angel hair pasta, plus bread with butter
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Tuna wrap with cheese and mayo
Snack: One glass of pomegranate lemonade

Exercise: Day 10 - 3.28 miles in 35:49.

No evening snacking! Except the lemonade, but I'm not counting that. I wanted ice cream but I waited too long and suddenly it was bed time. The salad at lunch was NOT healthy at all, who knows what kind of dressing was on it but it was delicious. Two of my co-workers wanted to run after work but one of them ended up being too busy to get out on time. I hadn't run with the other one in two years when she was much slower than me and always sounded like she was one step away from passing out. Well, last night was a different story! She kept me going when I wanted to take a walk break, and when I told her we had gone three miles she was so surprised because she felt so good. She hasn't even been running, but she's been doing kickboxing a couple of times a week. I need to find some buddies to do some classes with, I guess!

Mystic, since I'm doing the run streak and 'have' to do at least a mile every day it's much easier to get myself to do at least a few minutes of exercise on those short days. I neglect everything but cardio typically, so hopefully I build up to longer sessions of otter stuff.

LaMa, my next step with pushups might be my stairs. I can start at a higher stair and work my way down. Or I can start a set at a lower stair until I can't do them anymore and then finish the set at a higher stair. But here I go thinking about too many future details again!!

Oaks, I love fitness classes of almost any kind. It's really nice to do something as a group (also, to have someone up there telling you what to do). It makes it so that an hour and 500 calories can go by really quickly without you even noticing.

Thursday Recap:

Breakfast: Smoothie
Lunch: Southwest chicken salad + 2 homemade PB rice crispy treats
Snack: Beef jerky (110 caps)
Dinner: Soboro Don (rice with ground pork and egg)
Snack: 2 mochis (200 cals)

Exercise: Day 11 - 1.5 miles in 16.06

Today is Friday. I had made myself a few short term goals on Tuesday that I'm happy to say I totally met. They were:

-Post everything that I eat or drink.
-Avoid alcohol of any kind.
-Do pushups one day.
-Listen to my body with running.

Now I need a new set of goals for the weekend, Friday to Sunday.

-Make an attempt at P90X yoga
-Do pushups one day
-Only alcohol allowed is a lychee juice with vodka to go with our planned sushi dinner on Saturday
-Run a total of 9 miles, in any combination I choose

Thanks, LaMa! Little goals are the way to go, I think.

As someone who goes out on Thursdays somewhat regularly for adult beverages, I am happy to say that this Friday work day is absolutely flying by. Being well rested and hydrated is a good thing.

Jeez your running is impressive!!! Cardio is absolutely my weak spot, I love to lift and stretch, but cardio...? I'll walk outside for an hour, and I'll push myself through 1 high intensity class probably once a fortnight... lol.

It's so funny how different everyone is, Lucy. Lots of people find what I do mind-numbingly boring (you just run? Slowly? For like an hour?!?!) But I love it. Just don't ask me to do a push up! I get so excited when I see my legs toning up but I've yet to EVER have the pleasure of that feeling in life about my arms or abs.

Hana! Thanks, I'm getting into the groove with this running thing :)

Day 12 - 1 mile in 10:42
Day 13 - 5.75 miles in 1 hr 12 mins

Today's run was slow because I opted for a trail run. It was cloudy and had rained in the morning and it was absolutely gorgeous in the woods. Bonus - I found a rock to hide behind to pee! The quick ups and downs are going to hurt tomorrow, but I felt so energized after. I'll definitely get back there for more long runs.

Nice run! That's not slow for a trail run for sure. The woods look very serene. Going to the bathroom in the woods is an occupational hazard for me. One becomes resourceful and efficient over the years.

Scandalous night here in my 'hood! One half of the couple who lived downstairs moved out last week, and a new car pulled into the driveway tonight with its owner carrying way too many bags to just be staying for a couple of hours.

[In full disclosure, I'm a pot calling a kettle black because G and I became an item before my ex officially moved out. But there was no overlap with official relationships at all.]

:) I´m sure tonguewagging burns calories! And if not: it´s good fun as long as you don´t do it with people who take it seriously.
