Tuesday is almost done, and I am overall very happy with the day.
You already heard about me getting my behind to the gym (woo hoo). In addition, I had made it my goal to do two yoga videos and one pushups/squats workout by Wednesday. Well, those are DONE! The yoga videos I like are short.... around 15 minutes each. Long enough to feel an effect but short enough for me to do a couple on a weeknight. Tonight I did one to stretch the neck and back, and one called "morning flow." Admittedly they were more calm and relaxing than usual, but my neck was crazy sore all day, and I also ran. My body wanted calm and relaxing.
Food for the day went like this:
Breakfast - Pumpkin pie smoothie. YUM.
Snack - 1 homemade chocolate graham cracker, 1 serving of store bought crackers from Trader Joe's
Lunch - Cottage cheese, dehydrated fruit, bell peppers. I'd guess roughly four oz of each.
Snack - KIND bar (200 calories)
Dinner - Black beans and rice
Dessert - 2 rolls of Smarties [update: see next post]
Pros: Everything was pretty natural/unprocessed. Except for the Smarties. I love my smoothie base. Plain greek yogurt, unsweetened soy milk, chia seeds, 1 banana, and oats. To this one I added pumpkin puree and lots of yummy spices.
Cons: I didn't give my body enough food early in the day. I had to fight hard not to eat junk for an afternoon snack, and my stomach was growling off and on all day. Also, I should have had a vegetable with dinner. And not just because it was way too spicy and I could have used something to cool my mouth off.
Tomorrow needs to be another running day in order to meet my 4 day goals. There has been no alcohol since Saturday, and no sneaky snacking since Saturday.
