Cate, its going to be tough! We had nice big steaks for dinner last night and smelling G's wine made me really want some! But I was strong.

Q, what did South Texas do to you?? Jump back on here with me, I'd love the company!

Isn't is so exciting to have spring knocking on the door?! I'm so over the moon psyched that this winter is nearly done! Looking forward to the snow melting and getting outside to walk with the dogs and to just lounge outside soaking up some sun with my dragons. Spring has ALWAYS been my favorite season, but this one is especially exciting. What a long winter! Phew!

This has been a rough winter in New England, it's been especially brutal to Central and Eastern MA and Southern NH. I'm wringing my hands like a supervillain, laughing maniacally at the snow and ice melting away.

Glad to hear you're following through on the dry March, Oaks - I'm dry until March 21st, due to low-carbing it, on the 21st we're getting together with another couple to check out some local breweries. Looking forward to that particular light at the end of the tunnel!

Mandy, it was amazing how much melting happened already! I'm usually a really big fan of the winter but even this one really got to me.

LJ you're lucky you decided to laugh maniacally AFTER we started thawing out... otherwise I'd be wishing some bad things on you right about now!

LaMa and Mystic, not all days are tough but that one sure was :)

Monday recap:

Breakfast - Grape nuts and a banana
Lunch - Steak and roasted potatoes (leftovers)(and delicious)
Dinner - Homemade chicken chow mein
Snacks - Pineapple (afternoon) and a 140 calorie granola bar (evening)

It was a pretty solid day, although I had wanted to get out for a walk but work was crazy. I should have gone for a quick stroll after work but I was late leaving the office and G was waiting on me for dinner.

Tuesday workout - 2.3 miles on the treadmill in 24 minutes or so. I did a couple of hills and 4 sprints (40 seconds each). I was sweating like a pig. I was using that coaching app I have and was told to do my hills at an incline of 8 for three minutes. Yeah, that wasn't happening. I modified it by doing 1 minute at 4, 1 minute at 5, and 1 minute at 6.

Not drinking yesterday was easy. No temptations at all.

Great job on the not drinking. Not even being tempted is awesome! Also, almost every time I read your diary I think to myself..."I need to get Grape nuts at the store next time I go". Of course I never remember. lol. :)

I LOVE GRAPE NUTS! Is that a weird thing to love? They are so healthy and simple. Go get some, Jen!

Sounds like a good morning, Oaks, keep it up!!

Never understood the appeal of Grape Nuts... But they're still in business, so obviously more than you two like them!

Mandy, I won't tell you how delicious the roasted potatoes are because I know you miss potatoes. It was our first time cooking a sweet potato at home. My first time looking at a raw sweet potato actually.

(Let's see how many times I can say 'potato' in one paragraph, sheesh.)

LJ, I'm pretty sure I thought Grape Nuts were the weirdest thing when I was a kid. You gotta let them soak just the right amount of time. Not too hard, not too soft. Jussssst right.

Q, what did South Texas do to you?? Jump back on here with me, I'd love the company!

I don't want to talk about it. I have stayed on the wagon though. The first few days are always the hardest for me. Glad to see you kicking butt!

I had to google grape nuts... it's cereal? That you soak? Hmm, not sure I'm sold on that haha.

I loooove sweet potato at the moment, I grew up eating tonnes as my dad used to grow them in the garden and they would be insanely massive and just keep growing. I seem to be on a sweet potato kick now for whatever reason, it just appeals to me more than brown rice!

Lucy, it's got 7 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein and less than 1 gram of fat per serving! If that doesn't scream "tasty" I don't know what does ;) It's REALLY crunchy if you don't let it soak for a minute. Sometimes I throw them on my yogurt for a little texture.

I'm hoping we cook more sweet potatoes now that we've done it once. We tend to eat potatoes more in stews or other dishes like that, but it was definitely a nice side dish.

Tuesday recap:

Breakfast - Cottage cheese with pineapple
Lunch - Leftover chicken chow mein
Dinner - Roasted chicken with a side salad
Snacks - Dried peaches (morning), 2 girl scout cookies (afternoon), maybe 1/4 pint of ice cream (evening)

I gotta say I am proud of the amount of ice cream I had. Those stupid Ben & Jerry's pints with the cores.... You can't scoop out a serving when you have a delicious core. But it was one of the sweetest ice creams I've had, which actually is good for portion control. Somewhat sweet = need as much as possible. Overly sweet = makes me thirsty.

Never trust "food" that doesn´t contain the ingredients mentioned in the name... So no Ben&Jerry´s for me ;) Also no grape nuts.

Dry grape nuts are basically fiber-rich gravel, but maybe I'll re-open my mind to them!

Good job on not eating the entire pint!

Alright, let's take a vote - who's got more talent, me or Jen?

I ordered a coloring book which arrived earlier this week. While it did distract me for a bit, it wasn't nearly as fun as I had hoped. Perhaps if I had more creativity and didn't want to color everything "brown." And no, I won't be offended if you guys vote for Jen.
