The long road

Thanks for your support guys, it's much appreciated!

Just got back from the gym. I did about a 30min of cardio on the bike tonight after work, I was pretty tired when I got home from work and almost didn't go tonight. I told myself...well, I'll go tomorrow because there's no sense in leaving the house again this late at night...then a few min later I told myself to get my fat ass into the car and get down there lol :)

If you change nothing, nothing changes. That's my new motto ;) Thanks again.

Hehe I like that, sweet and simple :) Dont worry about the scales acting up, was probably just your body hanging onto some excess water or something. Well done on the gym membership!

The books are right. Weight DOES fluctuate daily due to a number of factors. It could have been water weight or a result of excess sodium inteake or a lack of bowel movements, etc. My weight fluctuates up to 4 pounds some days! Don't let it get you down- go with how you feel!

Well it looks like the stationary bike and I are going to become good friends for awhile anyway. I've been using a hill program that takes my heart rate upto about 180s and then down to 160s then up and down, it's pretty taxing by the end of the 30-45min session but it's good.

The only thing I'm really finding annoying is this weight fulx business. One day I'll be 5lbs heavier, then next I'll be 7lbs lighter...very strange.

Just got home from the gym. I did another 30min working on the mag bike this morning.

5min warm up of stepping resistance
20min of interval min / max resistance
5min cool down

Ugh, those interval sessions are killer. The bike goes from very little resistance to quite a lot of resistance, and it's distance based, not time based so if you slow down...well it just lasts longer lol. It's good though, heart rate fluctuates from 174-193 on the intervels toward the end it tends to stay in the upper 180s and by that time I'm really breathing hard, and well you know the drill.

Anyway, -2lbs when I weighed myself this..well yesterday morning so I'm pretty happy about that, and I had to buy a new belt as I ran out of notches on the old one. I think I'll keep the old one just to remind me of what I'm moving away from.

Cheers all
