~~The Lollipopkid~~

Just another fun filled Friday night/early Saturday morning as it was 12:30am; I Just arrived home from work which is about an hour away from my house and I was ready for a relaxing night of playing on my computer and hitting the sack before I going back to work in 9 hours. Not exactly what happened...

I had been having issues with my water heater all week, and a random tip that I received was to check for ice build up around the vent so I went into my store room where I keep the water heater as well as where the water main ect is located and tried to follow where the vent led, sadly it was lost in the walls. I went upstairs to get ready for bed; took off my coat, put my wallet and keys away and realized that it was uncommonly cold in my house. I walked into the living room and was shocked to discover the wind had blown one of my windows open. I went to the thermostat that read 55 degrees and tried to kick it on but it would not. To confirm my suspicion that I was out of gas, I checked the stove pilots... nothing!

I journeyed out to my tank, I suppose still not wanting to believe it was out, but alas it was. I went back to the door and oops... I locked the door and my keys were upstairs on my counter. I made my way to the shed and grabbed my ladder and climbed into the second story window that was blown open. I was in!

I went to make a call to the local propane company to get some gas delivered; and by freak coincidence for the first time ever my phone service was down! I use a VOIP which is a telephone service through the broadband connection, which that was working, and I just paid the bill the week before so I figured it was something with the company, so I went to log into there site and sure as shit, the site was down too. Whatever! It cant get worse than this I said to myself... I went and picked up my room space heater and prepared for a cold nights sleep and I was just checking some emails when :pLOOOSHHHH: remember how I was checking the water heater before? Well I left that door open and my fat ass cat decided to check the strength of the water mains pipes and snapped a plastic pipe. I turned off the pump and shut the valve to that water main as my cat hid himself... At this point I knew I could not stay at the house, and I opened all the pipes to prevent them from freezing and I grabbed my cat, dried him off and made a normally 1 hour and 15 minute journey to my parents house but tonight it was in a snow storm and it took 2 hours and 15 minutes :p

So how has February for the rest of you :p .
