The Last 6lbs!

As the title suggests, I'm now into the last 6 pounds of what will be a continuous journey into fitness. Decided to start a new journal while I'm feeling super enthusiastic and in the mood to do so. I'm 126 lbs right now (actually, I may be a little less; decided not to weigh myself to prevent... erm... breakdowns) and, well, short. I think another 6lbs would get me looking the way I want to! :coolgleamA:

Not gonna start calorie counting until Monday, which means the journal may not be touched until then. I'm not on a specific diet because I'm looking to maintain my weight and keep looking fit even when I've reached my goal; I don't wanna put the pounds back on if I decide to eat differently! I just wanna be healthy, which means treating myself, too. (I'm looking at a weekly meal or snack or something along those lines to keep me on track.)

Right now, I use the gym twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday and have a treadmill at home for the other days. Oh, and I little ab sit-up type bar thingy. I wanna see how much I can get done in a week, so will be very strict for these next seven days but I'm not hoping to lose any more than 2lbs at a push, really. I've got a little get-together next weekend. (It was going to be this weekend but moved, thank God! I have another chance to get something done.)

So here's to the starting point of another goal. GO GO GO!

:waving:

Good luck reaching your last six .

Are you going to keep the diary a bit longer to record your maintenance for a while. It would be a good idea. There are other people doing that here too.

Thanks!

And, yes, I might do that. If not, I'll definitely continue to check in on the forum. Those who have lost weight and have successfully reached their goal need to stay on and encourage those who haven't yet and advise them. :D

I've eaten...

2 weetabix and honey. (aprox. 150 cals)
Grapes (aprox. 80 cals)
Tuna and sweetcorn pasta (300 cals)
Dried apricots (I... have no idea.)
Beans on toast with cheese. (400 cals)
Mango sorbet (96 cals)
TOTAL: 1100 (rounded up; estimated the apricots)

No exercise today; got caught in traffic on my way to go food shopping and came back just in time to eat but, since I have a gap between exercising and eating, it's now too late. Erg. Nevermind, there's always tomorrow!

No More Deadline

Okay, so this event I've been trying to lose weight for has been put off again and again and now I'm not entirely sure it'll be happening at all. I'm not even disappointed! All the STRESS and the worry about losing enough in time. The truth is, slow losing is the key to maintaining that weight, right? Okay, so maybe I do wanna be a little speedy about this weight loss, but only because I can't wait to adore my body and myself. It'd do wonders for my confidence and make me more prepared to participate in new things. For example, I've always wanted to learn karate or some form of martial arts and I like dancing... even though I can't. (Proven in my recent attempt at Zumba. No worries; try and try again.) I actually really enjoy exercising and eating healthily so these last 6lbs should be the most fun to get rid of.

I've eaten::

Breakfast; 2 weetabix with 3/4 of a banana and a tiny squirt of golden syrup.
Lunch; About 4 oz of chicken, carrots, peas, low fat onion gravy and a low fat stuffing ball. (370 cals)
Dinner; Yet to be eaten, actually. Not sure about that yet as I lack hunggerr.
Other; WW frozen yoghurt, Mini Milk and 1/4 of a doughnut. (I really wanted one but wasn't prepared to consume 350 cals worth of the whole thing.)

I did the Zumba starter DVD early this morning. My God, I just cannot dance. I ended up doing one of those jumpy hissy-fit things and turned the DVD player off by throwing the remote at a chair in anger... I was then left standing sheepishly in the middle of the living room. If at first you don't succeed, hide all evidence.

I wouldn't worry about not being able to dance, as long as you're moving around and getting the exercise you need. (And if you have anyone living with you making fun of you- as my family would if I lived with them- tell 'em to piss off from me)

I suppose so. I'm probably burning more calories than the instructors; I must've tripped at least 5 times and pushed myself back up. Nuh-uh, I keep the family locked away upstairs while I do it. I'm very self conscious, but they have no problem with staying out of the way if I'm actually doing it. :D

May 22nd

Okay, so maybe I took advantage of the 'having no dealine' thing. It's nothing too bad but I've had two cookies this weekend... and a few tiny scraps of, well, crap. crap as in junk food, I don't make a habit of consuming turds. I'm not too disappointed in myself because I know I can work hard during this week.

I've eaten::
Breakfast; Large bowl of cherry and blueberry musili. Not too proud of that. The bowl was... fairly huge.
Lunch; Mushroom and ham stir fry with a bit of chilli sauce. Exactly what I had for dinner yesterday.
Dinner; Low fat cumberland pie.
Other; WW fro yo, Mini Milk, white chocolate and macadamia (I know I've spelled that wrong) cookie. Sorry.

Nothing as far at exercise goes, but I've been watching a whole lot of work out programmes, especially the Last 10lbs Bootcamp and I'm feeling pretty motivated, open to try new things and to push myself harder. I will gather the courage to attempt Zumba again... someday.

Ahem. Uh. Booyah! I've lost 2 1/2 lbs. Seems as if I've totally smashed that plateau.

Gonna start using this thread just for victories. Super proud of myself, honestly. You wouldn't believe; I haven't lost anything for so long so this is incredible.

Boo. Yah.

Great job so far! I like your ham and mushroom stir fry idea, do you use sliced ham or dice thick-cut ham? Thanks a lot for your encouraging comment on my Diary! With all these negative news stories about fat & lazy America, it's great to know we are not alone in working to make a positive change on our health and appearance!
