The Juice Project

Hi Starlillies,

I just watched Hungry for Change and before I've watched Sick, Fat and nearly Dead as well as Food Matters. I'm currently doing a cleanse and I've been considering doing a juice feast reboot.

My only struggle would be, I work and am gone for a majority of the day and I haven't figured out what I should do on the go. I have a centrifugal juicer which oxidizes the juice so it's not recommended to make juice for the day to be able to carry it with me.

What do you do?

ASmart Dogs and Smart Sausages are made by a company called Light Life.. their Italian style and Chorizo ones are very good in lots of differet things.. I make them as brats, or chop them up and put them in omlettes, quiche, pasta sauce, egg scramblers, etc. and Tofurkey makes a good one that mimics chorizo, I bought it but I haven't tried it yet so I can't give you a review. I just put them in a skillet with a tsp of canola and some onion and cook them like regular brats or make one of the other recipes.

Hey you guys!! I know I haven't been on in a while, but everything's going great. I just started working at a new place and have been getting situated. I also went in for an eye exam over the weekend and get this - my eyesight IMPROVED!!! That almost never happens! Must be the effects of all that raw carrot juice every day LOL awesome :)

Breakfast - Juice of carrot, apple, pear, celery, grapefruit, orange, cilantro, kale & flax (my boyfriend likes variety ;)

Lunch - Salad with tomato, celery, cucumber, kidney beans, onions, carrots

Dinner - herbed salmon with chick pea, tomato, zucchini saute

Twiist - Other than upgrading to a masticating juicer or finding a local raw juice bar (or health food store that serves juices) I'm really not sure what you can do. I'm fortunate to be working very close to home so I come home and make a pre-prepped juice or soup or salad.

Chelsea - thanks for the tip, sounds delicious! I wonder if my store carries them... I like the Garden Burger Spicy Black Bean patties. I either substitute them for a burger or chop them up and add to a salad. Love it

Sparked - Hey, thanks for checking in! I am excited about my new job as a web designer for a really cool company here and sticking to my diet. I finally broke 170!! Yay, haha.

I want to make time this weekend to stop by all your threads and see how it's going. I hope you're all having a great week!!

3 times around the lake - woo! Great exercise

Juice for breakfast - kale, carrot, spinach, orange, apple, celery

Lunch - 1/2 of blackened salmon wrap and salad with radish, tomato, celery, onion, carrot, kidney beans & 1 tbs parmesan dressing

Dinner Juice - radish, apple, tangerine, pineapple, celery

My boyfriend thinks he has a kidney stone so we'll be backing away from the leafy greens a bit. He also thinks it has to do with the hard water down here in the south. IDK

I'm just trying to stick to my diet and lose a couple more lbs before Nawlins. We plan on bringing the juicer so we don't have to rely on eating out the whole time.

Hope you all have a good week!

It depends. If they are calcium oxalate kidney stones, then he should stay away from things high in oxalate like green leafy veg and nuts.

But he has to be tested to know for sure.

I used to run/walk on the treadmill but it's SO much more enjoyable to be outside getting fresh air. I just power walk now and my legs are toning up nicely. :)

When it gets too hot for that, I plan on switching to swimming. LOVE swimming! Doesn't fee like a workout at all :D
