The Journey

Hi. :seeya:

I have been putting off starting a journal for a couple of weeks. I have been lurking forever. I wanted a snazzy catchy journal name. That didn't happen. I'm not feeling very creative right now.

I am inspired though. I began my latest lifestyle improvement on October 12. It's a work in progress. I know what works for me. Counting calories and fat grams. I have been going to fitday daily and keeping track of my progress. I am very happy with my numbers so far. I have had a few bad days but I am trying to keep those to a minimum. I also added some exercise into the mix. For right now it's walking and working on my batwings. :driving: I want to get a mat so I can do some floor exercises. I will see from there. I have one of those weight station things.....it has weights and you can do legs as well. I need to really get going on that. I digress. One thing at a time. If it's too complicated all at once I will most likely not do it.

I hope everyone has a great day. ;)

My weight was the same this morning. I expected it since I didn't go to bed until after 3am and was up by 8. My arms were a little sore from my workout last night. I thought they would be so I can live with it.

My food yesterday was great. I exercised. I even got in a little cleaning. Today is laundry day. Back to work tomorrow. I hope I start having weekends off again soon. I miss them.

I need to figure out something for dinner. If I don't plan my meals it comes out bad.

My adult daughter who lives with me came to me yesterday. She finally decided she wanted to help me make Thanksgiving dinner. She thought it was time she learned. She cooks basic things and wouldn't starve if I didn't cook. She was upset when I told her I wanted to make a lower fat version of Thanksgiving dinner. She is now put off by the whole thing and doesn't want to take part in the cooking process. Oh well! I will try to talk her into it. It would be good for her to learn that there are healthier alternatives to the usual fat and calorie laden holiday foods.

Hey, congrats on starting a journal :) I did the same thing yesterday and I'm hoping it'll be very helpful :p.

I have the same problem with dinner, I usually need to plan ahead otherwise I end up screwing up or eating whatever I can find.

I'm sorry about your daughter, I hope you can talk her into it! Lower fat doesn't necessarily mean it won't be as yummy :p and I think it's great that you want to make Thanksgiving dinner healthier, it's really easy to use that day as an excuse to over-indulge and ruin your diet so you should be really proud of your decision. I'll try to do the same thing for the upcoming holidays.
Have a great day! Bye :)
