The Greenetuckian Files

Long day today. Got up at 5:30 this morning and drove to Indy. Had a long day watching training videos. Been a bit crazy this evening. I left several thing back at Linton so I had to go out and buy them.

I did get in some workout here at the Amerisuites fitness room. Not a great Fitness room but better than nothing. Especially with the temp in the 90s outside. I had to use their Universal Gym so I doubt the numbers are on and I had to do a bit of searching to get the weights half way right.

Universal Gym
BP....................135x10, 2@180x8, 180x4
Standing Curl...3@70x8
LPD................3@100x8
Leg Ext...........2@90x8
Leg Curl..............50x8

The room was 60 degrees and too cold to suit me. I am also very tired from two night of not going to sleep then having to get up at 5:30. Hopefully I can make that up tonight.

Boy did I eat today. I had Burger King for lunch 1240 kcal and Wendy's for supper 1080 and that does not include breakfast and snacks. I guess around 4000. Oh well it was still hot but I took a jaunt over to the Monon trail while I am still here in Indy. After seeing this thing I am realy kicking myself in the ass for forgeting my inlines. I did walk the trail though, I parked at 91st St. and walked to a mile south of 86th St. I went about a mile and half out then back for about an hour walk. My knee hurt I think because I am not used to walking and I was wearing cheap shoes. I believe l'll be back next week so I will be sure and have them then. It is amazing to go so far with no stop signs and no damn teenagers in cars about to run you down.

I am really off my routine. We did try a game on skates Sun. You through a frisby like disk at a net while someone tries to block you. Hell we could not hit the net without anyone trying to block. Kegan, Ash and I went for a long skate afterwards.

Got out on the Monon last eve. Did 9mi. in a little over an hour. I seen lots of other skaters but could not keep up with most. I guess I am too use to skating with a 5yo. Perhaps I can get back to lifting next week.

Tried going north on the Monon last eve. I parked at 96th St. and skated away toward Carmel. I ran into construction as I entered Carmel and the trail detoured. It wound way out and around, was rough and often rocky and dirty. I did not see many people on that section and you won't see me on it again. I ended up with about and hour and twenty min. skating. I have a bruise on my right ankle where the skate has rubbed.

Skated the Monon again tonight from 96th St. (mile marker 0) to MM6 and back in an hour and twenty min. Not too bad a time with all of the street xings. By mile 9 I was pretty winded but I kept going.

Tattoo, Ash and Kegan are supposed to come up tomorrow but there is a 50/50 chance of rain or showers so they may have to wait until Fri. We'll see I guess.

You know someone named tattoo?

Sorry for not posting but I did no organized exercise since Thu. Oh Junkfood bad, Tattoo is what we sometimes call Sheri (She47441). Tonight I am in Indy one last time so I hit the Monon even though the temp is in the 90's with a heat index of 105. I made right at fourteen and a half miles in an hour and thirty six min.

Perhaps I can get some lifting in yet this week but who knows?

The new job and ongoing commitments have really taken a toll on my fitness program. I find I need a lot of time for relaxation to bust off the stress too. Kegan, Ash and I did get out and skate this morning for awhile. We also worked at pulling a bunch of chain link fence posts this evening at Pam and Wayne's. They gave us the fence they are removing and it is nice.

I really like the new job with Xerox but I did not get my direct deposit yesterday. They owe me damn near $2500 and my bank account has now dwindled to less than $150. I can transfer $90 to try and make it through this week. I will have to get on the horn Mon. morn to try and get this straightened out. At least we have a lot of food stockpiled so at least we won't go hungry.

I've got 17 tattoos, so I'm nicknamed Tattoo by Greene. Actually it's Tattooed Lady here on the forum in the women diary.

Besides your not much taller than Hervé Villechaize

The new job with Xerox is really eating my time and stressing me out. I am not getting much exercise at all. My weight is way up because of the lack of exercise and eating junk all day long. I am looking to getting back in the groove and may start this morning yet.

Sheri bought me some new BF measuring scales and they weigh me 4 lbs heavier than the old ones do. Even on the old ones I was up to 168. I can tell my pants are getting tighter also. I will need to get a routine going again and also quit smoking again. The stress has just been too much. Hopefully soon things will calm down and I can get back in the swing.

*****Update 8/12*****

I decided to see how much strength I had lost since my last lifting session was on July 18th. I did one set of the 8 -10 rep workout I had performed on 7/10 (my notation is sets@weight x reps (gain/loss))

7/10/06
Standing Curl......2@80x8
Bench Press.......2@160x9
Dead Lift..............2@204x8
LPD to waist........2@102x9

I went with one set because I am afraid of getting too sore. Acctually I did much better than I thought I would.

8/12/06
Standing Curl......1@80x8 (0)
Bench Press.......1@160x8 (-1)
Dead Lift..............1@204x8 (0)
LPD to waist........1@102x9 (0)

If all goes according to plan I will do two sets of the same Monday.

Back is much better today. Kegan and I went out for close to an hour on the skates. Pretty hot and I have lost some. When we got back I took Ash out for another 25 min. run. She is slow but I made her skate mostly on her own. We went up to the school where she just started kindergarten. Now I need to get Sheri out with us sometimes.

Thanks for the encouragement Tony but I don't know how much I can do. My darn back hurts so bad sometimes. It is not like a muscle ache is in a place that I really have never had pain in before. It is much more like an ache. It hurts worse when I lie down at night. I pretty much have to sleep on my back. If I roll on my stomach it will give me a really sharp pain. I wake up with it hurting like this morning. Since it did not hurt before I started this new job I think it may be realated to driving so much (over 100 miles a day) in the little Geo or pulling on the copiers. On carpet you have to give the heavy suckers a pretty good tug to get them moving. I also do a lot of bending, stooping and getting up and down off the floor. I have to lean, twist and get in all kind of positions to reach or see in the copiers. The stress is also a lot higher than before which is having an effect.

I have gotten my diet in better order eating a protien bar for breakfast instead of dougnuts and eliminating chips. My weight is on it's way back down so far. Often though my eating schedule is way off, yesterday I did not finish my breakfast bar till afternoon and did not eat lunch until 3:00. I probably won't lift today but maybe tomorrow.

Go to a chiropractor, they should be able to help. I try to go as often as I can just to make sure Im aligned. They're not that expensive either.
