The Great Labor Day Goal Challenge

Hi everyone,

Since we're getting to the midpoint of summer (between Memorial Day and Labor Day) I thought it might be fun if we each listed a fitness goal we want to achieve before Labor Day. Weightwise I'd like to get securely under 250lbs, and liftingwise, I'd like to improve the biceps concentration curl past 2x12@25lbs. Anyone else care to join? Thanks in advance for replies.

Edited to add: and for cardio: raise at least one level (to lvl 7) or two (to lvl 8) on the programs.

#1 I want to be solidly free from tobacco and hope to see Sheri (she47441) completely away from it also.

#2 I would like to add at least an inch of muscle to my upper arm, chest and leg. I think that would be a gain 5 -10 lbs. of muscle while not increasing my BF% any higher than it is now.

#3 Increase my 1RM for BP to 245 and DL to 350lbs.

Sounds like a good idea - erm, can someone tell an ignorant Brit when labor day is so I can come up with some realistic goals?! :D

Labor Day this year is September 4th (a Monday). It typically marks the unofficial close of summer in the US.

In that case, I'll aim to hit 10%BF by then. I'd also like to be totally off tobacco like some others here (damn my addiction!! )

Being a millionaire would also be nice but, unless my lotto numbers come up....

I love a challange. Actually I got a gift certificate to bodybuilding.com that I haven't used yet for 25 bucks. I throw that up on the table to however wins this challange. Winner to be decided by poll voting at the end maybe? Sound fun, something different?

Didn't realize so many of us had to kick the habit. Me as well.

added-

Increase Endurance, get leaner. This balancing strength gaining and fat loss isn't working so great. So I am going to get lean as hell and then bulk over fall/winter for my strength wants. I'm wasted to much time trying to have my cake and eat it too...well not really eating it cause you know. So got to lose at least 8 pounds of fat. Its doable, but I will have to push it and not cut any corners. Running and circuit training look to be my new best friends.

I'd like to be well and securely in the First XV this season - September 2 we play a team containing 5 of my old teachers - all of whom told me I'd never make it to anything in this sport, I want to be in that side that day.

No fitness goal really, just keep as normal, but I want to be in the team that day :D

My goal for 4th Sep:

1. Recover from this nagging shoulder injury I had nearly 5 weeks ago and go back to weights room.

2. Lose 3 inches off the waist to go back to 32 inches trousers.

I want to get certified to teach step and have a few classes that I alone teach on a weekly basis.

Also I would like to start riding again, and jumping again(horses)... I miss it sooo bad

Can I join? My goals are:

-to lose 5 lbs
-to experiment until I discover which foods help me stabilize my energy all day. I already do the 5 meal a day plan, but I still get tired during the afternoon, comes from reading and sitting at a desk all day...I hate depending on caffeine...
-to be able to do pull ups and push ups on my own

Those are just my short term goals!

Sure ya can - just remember we're looking for goals that are challenging in the time frame - that is, Sept 4th. Good luck :)

Hows everybody doing? Updates, STAY ON TRACK!!!

You beat me to the punch lol - Labor Day's just over a month away, so keep going towards your goals. I need a new strength goal since I'm not doing the concentration curls in my new workout. The cardio goal is pretty much achieved - but weight isn't yet.

alright this might be just what i need , im definately up for it...
for now 30 lbs to lose.
