The Diary ;-)

WOW thats amazing news you must be so happy takes a huge weight of your shoulders knowing you have the job already

Congrats im so happy for you

thanx sweety! it has taken a lot of weight of my shoulder...a lot i didn't know existed. it just feels like i don't have to do half the stuff i neeed to do before!

x

Me too! lol. My mother has a HUGE sweet tooth. She used to eat chocolate religiously before she developed a peanut allergy and couldn't eat any of it because it was packaged near nuts.

aww that is horrible! i would hate to develop an allergy like that...i mean it has its pluses but they nowhere outweight the fact that a woman needs her chocolate!!!

I inherited it, I'm sure. I just cleaned out my pantry and it took SO MUCH strength for me to NOT dip into the chocolate candies. Not only do I *not* need them, I gave them up for Lent. I usually do okay if I don't *see* chocolate, but even if I know it's there...I'm itching to have it. I KNOW processed sugar played a HUGE part in my obesity. More than half of my excess weight was put on through cake, cookies and the like...

yeh same here! i was fine until i discovered vending machines in school. thats where my weight came from.
i admire you for giving up chocolate for lent. keep it up! i could never do it! it will be an amazing acomplishment. keep me updated onhow you go.

i know what you mean about seeing the chocolate. i know theirs loads in the cupboard but i'm not craving it, if someone offers it to me i wont say no!! must work on that...i can to crisps and sweets but not chocolate and cake. btw i didn't have too much of that cake i made and most of it is gone now. pretty sure it will have dissappeared by tomorrow!!

Now I only have them once or twice a week. To be honest, as long as I'm not giving them up COMPLETELY, I'm okay with it. I'm transitioning my sweet tooth to appreciate natural sugar like the fructose in fruit. It seems to be working. Slowly, but nevertheless, surely...

you know what i was like this...i used to think give up all the bad foods...eat healthy but that only used to lead me to binge and give up but now when i decided i wanted to lose weight and just cut calories rather than ban myself i'm doing ok...so far!

x

Congrats on the job offer!! That is so wonderful. You must be really excited! :) I'm hoping I'll be able to find a job at the end of the summer!

Also congrats on being in the 150's again!! Keep up the good work! :)

thanx hon!!! long time no see you around. have you started that diary yet??? i am excited...a huge weight off my shoulders! good luck with the job hunt. it has got be the worst thing...even worse than weight loss lol!

have a good week.

I can tell you for certian that I've been a really good girl and not dipped into the chocolate candies today. For Christmas, my family got these belgian chocolate truffles from Germany and they are by far the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Before Lent, I would eat them religiously, at least two to six a day. They're 40 cal a piece though so I could eat about 300 cal worth of them a day. I knew I was plateauing by scarfing them down, but I didn't care at the time. Come one morning when I realized I cleared out the first bag on my own, I thought "My gosh, what am I doing?" lol...

They're sitting in there now, unhindered and to my surprise, I don't care. Haha. I'm more in the mood for whole grains and veggies today. I just had some oatmeal but my tummy is saying it wants something else. I'm thinking peaches or something later...

I hope you're having a good night!! (((big hugs)))

good for you!!!! that is amazing!!! i used to eat chocolate like that while watching a film...and imagine having a tin of chocs through a 2 hour film...hmm...doesn't last.

just watched independence day again tonight for the 100th time!!! but it is one amazing film. but i didn't touch a piece of chocolate....mostly because it wasn't infront of me...but i didn't even ask for it lol!

your transition is most definitley working if you are craving veggies and whole grains...i need to give that a go! you are doing really well considering how much choolate you could get through and now you don't even go near it...well go near it but not put it in your mouth!!! way to go hon!

have a good night yourself!

Oh wow, I LOVE Independence Day!! Will Smith is lip-smacking eye candy in that movie. The whole concept of it fascinated me cause I'm a HUGE X-files fan. I find Sci-Fi intriguing because it has nothing to do with real life. LOL.

It certianly seems to be yes! My body is telling me I'm doing the right thing by craving healthier foods. This is a good thing. I mean, I still get the craving for sweets, but it's never anything too heavy, simply lite ice cream or the like. I really can't do heavy foods anymore. I don't know, maybe it's just too much weightage for my body to handle at one time. Like...I use to down four pieces of Meat Lover's pizza, now I can only do like..one...lol...

yeh sci-fi is amazing...actually i love any film that has absolutly nothing to do with reality. a bit of escapism lol. independence day has it all...very unreal but takes you through all the emotions.....and don't get me started on mr smith hehe!

never seen x files though...

i think your body has got used the amount of food it needs and is telling you now..before it was used to more than it needed so you could just down whatever you wanted and the body accepted it and stored it away for a rainy day. ;)

hey!! WOW you are doing so great!! By the way things are going with you are for sure going to make your goal!! COngrats!! Hope you have a good day!!
:waving:

haha i love that!! :smilielol5:

Are you laughing b/c you're not angelic? :D

i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...i will not go back into the 160s...

LOL! Good for you. :D

thats amazing! haha trust you to like the college students...they are a good age to teach actually...mature but not mature enough hehe! the 12-142 are a headache. i was a headache at that age!!!

I used to go out partying with my college students..lol It was ok over there--and encouraged by my boss to keep them in the classroom. One of them even tried to put the moves on me--twice. :biggrinjester: That was very flattering, as he was 8yrs younger than I, and very cute.

i am ahtinking of going abroad. to get a bit of experience and what not. looked at Korea yesterday. mom was saying its a good place as well. i'm going to seriously consider it. i was also thinking of spain. any idea about spain?
x

I think teaching in Spain would be a lot of fun. I wanted to do it in Europe, but with the EU, work visas are no longer needed, so they want to hire within Europe--makes it very hard for Yanks to get hired over there these days. :( Now that you have your job offer, though, I guess teaching overseas is no longer in consideration. :) Congrats on the job offer!! That is great! :hurray::hurray:

Like Rae, I gave up chocolate for Lent once, too. I'm not Catholic, but some of my friends were, so I joined in on the fun..hahaha. Oh, and I might add that this took place while I was studying in Belgium--so Belgian chocolate was EVERYWHERE--and God knows I love the stuff...so let's just say that it was a long 6 weeks!! haha. The 2 days before Lent began, I bought a bunch of chocolate and ate nothing but yummy Belgian chocolate for 2 days. I was sick of it when Lent started--very sick of it..lol. So the first few weeks were pretty easy. Luckily, I could still drink yummy Belgian beer. :cheers2:

the big news is i have been offered a job for next year...i've done loads of work experience at the school and it is awsome!! the kids are great and everything. they are also giving me a choice of which year i want to teach (4(7-8yr olds) or 6(10-11 yr olds))...they must have been impressed lol! i have pretty much taken it..just need to get the whole contract business sorted...so still abit iffy but hopefully this should be it for next year...can't wait!

It is brilliant news about the job offer. I know that my niece is hoping that she will be offered a job at one of the schools that she has done her teaching practise in. It means that you have already sussed out the school and know what you are letting yourself in for. They certainly must have been impressed with you when you were there.

my weight is down to 157

I am pleased that your weight has returned to where it had been a few days earlier. My weight often goes up by a few pounds - especially at certain times of the month. You will be down to eleven stone before you know it. I just wish that my measurements were as impressive as yours.

Well done for getting back into the routine of doing the exercise. It always seems to be very beneficial.

You should feel very proud of yourself.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Congrats on the job offer. When do you start and which age group are you leaning toward teaching?

What region are you in? My sister was living in the north by Hull until last year. I visited her there a few years ago. I know its not known as the nicest place in England, but I liked the area.

Are you laughing b/c you're not angelic? :D

yeah those certain times of the year are back now so hopefully by next week i should have lost 2lbs of water weight and be down to a new low. i am hoping... can't wait to be under 11..haven't been there for a long long time!

Well done for getting back into the routine of doing the exercise. It always seems to be very beneficial.

it feels great!!!! and it helps with inch loss particularly. my whole posture changes once i've had a couple of sessions and automatically looks like i've lost lbs even though i haven't!

have a great day!!! Congrats on the 150s :hurray:

Congrats on the job offer. When do you start and which age group are you leaning toward teaching?

i start in september. finish this course in June (20th) and then i'llhave a few months break before i start in sept. looking at the older kids actually (10-11 yr olds) they are a bit of arowdy group but i think i should be able to calm them down. it'll be a challenge!

What region are you in? My sister was living in the north by Hull until last year. I visited her there a few years ago. I know its not known as the nicest place in England, but I liked the area.

i'm in the midlands. east midlands. its a nice small quiet place. i used to know people in hull. random lol! where is your sister now?

x

156 on the scales today!!! over 2 more lbs to lose before the end of the month!!! should be able to do it.

went to a pe training course. did over an hours worth of excercise. it was really good. learnt new skills on how to teach as well so a worthwhile session.

am going to start swimming as well - once a week!!! on sundays. i am terrified of the water and can just about do a brest stroke for 3-4 meters but am hoping to improve and be able to swim a length atleast by the end of the year.

need to start doing some uni work - essays and what not!!! Grrr!! but will get on with it maybe tomorrow.

have a good day people

;-)

Hello my Angelic One, :biggrinjester:

thanx...i want to do my 1 year of NQT in england and then i'm going to look into going abroad if i can. don't want to get stucjk in a job either.

Well, if you want more info about teaching in Korea, just PM me. There are some shady employers over there, so you want the help of an insider, trust me...lol.

wow thats one way to go about it. eat all you can before you can't...that would certainley put you off for a while. did you do it for the 40 days?

It was 14yrs ago, but yes, I believe I did. After awhile, I just kind of forgot about chocolate--but not for long..lmao.

I'm liking this race to 11st between you and Margaret. :biggrinjester: A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. :)
