Hi Angel

There is nothing wrong with you aiming to lose as much weight as possible - in fact this is what I do. I just did not want to have unrealistic expectations and feel a failure if they did not come about.

The body seems only willing to ever give up so much fat.

If you look at my entries regarding the month end of November you will see quite how hard I worked to achieve my November weight loss.

july 15th

yeah i know i'm trying my bet but if i don't lose more than a lb i don't mind because i've got roughly 30 weeks till my birthday and that should b ok. If i lose more than that it's a plus. I always set myself unrealistic goals. i remember once i tried to lose a stone in amonth and when i didn't i gave up but i had lost 10lbs which is quite a bit. oh well i've given up soo many times unbelievable.

Haven't joined the challenge yet.

i'll look for it now.

The incident of you giving up after losing 10 pounds in a month is just what I was worried about. It is so easy to give up.

If you limit your expectations - there is the bonus of a nice surprise if you surpass them.

Totally!! last night i thort as long as i've lost a pound and i wa well happy this morning!! hope i keep up that thinking and don't give up. we will see.

Jus give me a good wake up call if i decide to give up.

It will be wonderful if we are at or nearly at our goal weight's for our birthdays. I really want to get there - but we will have to stick at it or it wont happen.

true! slowly but surely it will happen.

Finished my 1000 word essay. just got the 1500 to do today.Can't wait!!!lol!I've been really good. usually while i'm studying i'll go through a hundred chocolate. today i went through a lot of fruit. woohoo. I know i should be eating something more substantial but i just had a lot to do and was too lazy to cook and eat.

DAY 8 - 6 dec 07

so far eaten:
3 brown toasts
2 apples
2 bananas
2 tangerines
2 brown breads with tomato soup.


Hopefully will have a good dinner.

no excerisetoday either. again been busy with this essay. Can't wait till the holidays, then i can excercise everyday. well i'm hoping to.

will update tonight while doing the essay. any distraction will do. hehe.

Fruit is certainly healthier than chocolate.

You really should try and eat something more substantial to give you energy and keep you healthy.

I know that I am going to sound like I am paid by Weetabix - but I find that 3 weetabix with sweetener and skimmed milk is so substantial and healthy, it is inexpensive and it only takes seconds to throw together. As you know it is quite light on the stomach too. I have that every day as I get in from my 6.3 mile first walk.

You should try something like that on days like today.

The Christmas holidays will be with you soon enough - then you will be able to kick-start your project with some serious exercise days if you want.

=) You gotta give your brain a lot of glucose! Avoid the fatty foods, even if they are more desirable when you're stress or hardly studying, they can't be used by the brain and if the liver runs out of glucose and the brain really needs to feed on keto bodies... well... they're toxic... Also, eat your fruit with a cookie or a toast, so it will form a kind of fiber net and you wont absorve so much sugar =)
 
DAY 8 update


THANX guys - i really apreciate the advice and keeps me motivated.

I'm half way throughthe essay and thought i'd update the diary and take a bit of a break. Got another couple of hours to go yet.

woah that's it. oh yeh had a piece of chocolate (40 cals) not bad


Haven't doen any excercise and the pedometer reading isn't even upto 3000 but i'm hoping to make up 4 it in the holidays. This year is really busy (final year wot can you do) but i'm going to get fit and healthy, pass my degree and get a job all at the same time...or so i'm hoping.

Eating healthily isnt really any harder than eating unhealthily a lot of the time.

OK - there are some absolutely delicious unhealthy things to eat - but the vast majority of the time we eat things because of habit - because they are there or because we are used to treating ourself with something at a set time or as a reward for something.

New habits can be learnt - and an unhealthy snack replaced by a much healthier one.

Ure right. Its jus pure laziness and ignorance in my case. I just forget what i can eat (healthy wise) and have a habit of jus going 4 the easy way out!!

i 've just been to uni 2 hand my essay in. FINALLY! nothing more to hand in until february. yay. Got loads of planning to do this weekend. teaching on monday hmm. shud b fun.

I us feel really tired after sleeping at 4 last night. i think i have to start sleeping well if i want to be healthier!

DAY 9 - 7 dec 07

excercise - went to town for ages but walked at a brisk pace whenever i could. i would say i got an hour of brisk walking done!


am gonna try and do some gym excercise. maybe half an hour later if i feel like it.

You dont need to be young to get excited over the little things. I watched mine turn to SENIOR just a few posts ago.

Fruit is often a sensible choice of what to eat.

Authorities say that we would all be a lot healthier if we ate 5 portions of fruit or veg a day.

This link shows what is classed as a portion.



It is also a very healthy thing to do to try and drink 2 litres of cold water a day. This is for all sorts of reasons. -eg.
- you can get constipated if you dont drink enough water - especially if you are having lots of fruit and veg.
- it helps your skin to shrink nicely as any fat disappears under it
- the water helps to fill you up so that you dont think that you are hungry
- it discourages the body from holding big stores of water in case there is a drought.

One of my other little nibble snacks when I fancy something to eat that is healthy, quick and sweet is I put a handful of honey shreddies onto a little plate. Then I nibble my way through those.

Walking is always excellent exercise. Wear your pedometer and you will see how far you have gone. I am up to 9.66 miles so far today (thank goodness it wasnt raining today).

I love fruit and have always had lots of fruit. I got into the habit of having at least 2 litres of water a few years back and now i jus natuaraly need that much so always have a minimum of 2l. i think thats y i don't mention it. mayb i shud keep a record of how much i drink and share it in the diary. i'll try to remember tomorrow. ;-)

had a little nap earlier so feel a bit better but been feeling really down with the world and people. hope i feel better tomorrow. i'm sure i will it's just because i'm really tired evrything is annoying me.

Day 10


THANX HUN - feel better today. hope you are aswell

I weighed myself this morning andi have lost 2 more lbs (YES YES). AND i'm in the 150s. doesn't feel that long to go now.I know its probly due to some water thing-probably the water thru the tears yesterday-lol.i don't care i've reached my december 27th goal. now its all about january the 31st. lets hope the lbs keep coming off.

I'm in double figure days aswell (woohoo) - quite a few milestones today!!!

DAY 10 - 8 dec 07

food:
2 brown toast
1 banana
1.5litre water

no excercise and i don't think i'll be doing any either. got a lot of work to get done before monday. I did clean the house for about 2 hours. that has to count for something!!

HI PEOPLE!!

so far so good. got a lot of work to do though! hav another late nyt ahead of me. and all day tomorrow. Can't wait till friday when i can hav a rest 4 weeeks of holidays. can't wait!!!

nut mix (half bowl)

no excercise-just been sitting infront of this computer.


Just can't wait till i have enough time to excercise everyday. come on holidays. hope i don't put any weight on until then.

It is excellent news about the weight loss. :hurray: It is so good. And all these milestones are really brilliant.:party:

I am really pleased that you drink lots of water. It is very good for you.

All you have to do is keep an eye on your food and start exercising as soon as you can. The work cleaning the house certainly does count for something. It all burns calories.

Hey Angel,

Are you logging your caloric intake every day? From what I've seen it seems awfully low, as does your protein intake.

Great job with your progress so far. Hope your essays go over well.
