-- how much weight do you want to lose?
i do not know for sure when i'll be happy, but i'm trying to get down to 80kg, which would be a loss of 12kg.

-- what is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
i would really like to have the majority of the weight down by june 29th (my 18th birthday) but more-so for my "end of year" holiday with all my mates. So i have the dates of 29th of june and then to carry it on to november.

-- how do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
- cutting out certain food
- replacing a meal with a healthy supplement
- exersize 7 days a week

-- who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
my family and you guys. And just the motivation in that i'm growing up and i need to change my lifestyle.

-- how realistic is your goal?
i believe it is fairly realistic, i don't know if all weight can be down by my 18th, but by november i will have lost all of it i'm sure.

-- when will you start?
yesterday! I started then. Well today it is official. 17 january 2006.

food to cut out: (7 sins!)
- cheese
- pizza
- any form of chocolate
- white bread
- biscuits
- crisps
- fizzy drinks

rules
- no eating after 7pm
- i need to do both exersize routines
- do not eat any of the "7 sins"
- post in the diary as often as possible

exersize routine (not all done on one day probably) said:
---> situps (3 sets of 20 minimum)
---> weights (3 sets of 25 minimum)
---> tricep excersize (3 sets of 12 minimum)
---> pushups (3 sets of 10 minimum)
---> treadmill (20 minutes)
---> skipping (10 minutes)

Exersize: 20 mins on Treadmill, Situps, Tricep Exersizes, Skipping, Weights
7 Sins: Nothing on list eaten today!
Food Intake:
Breakfast: Nutritional Drink ("Shape")
Lunch: Fruit Salad (with small pieces of Chicken)
Supper: Calamari and Fruit
Other: Rusks (Bread Intake) and Chino Frappe (Very little Fat)

Today is the official start of my journey. I am pretty amazed at how well I ate today! I didn't take in any of the "7 Sins" and I managed a 40-minute workout! My muscles are sore and I'm cramping a bit but I am very motivated because I started so early! Things are looking up already. I go back to school tomorrow and I am going to try stay healthy while at school and throughout the day. I am done with eating for today and it is 18:34 --- I'm sure I'll last.

From tommorow I'm starting my official "Exersize Routine" Posted above, today was my last day of holiday so I wasn't waking up at 6!

I'd love to hear from you guys!
 
I noticed that you cut out all of your chocolates! That's very brave of you! I must say, though, that if you get a major craving for chocolate (and you will, if you're a girl), then it'd be okay for you to eat dark chocolate. It's good for your teeth and heart and it doesn't have the fat from milk like milk chocolate does.

It sounds like you're off to a fantastic start! I like what you call 'the seven sins,' that had me laughing. It looks like we both have similar goals this year, to loose weight before our 18th birthdays (you're about a week older than myself). I wish you the best of luck and weight loss!

good for you 18!! sounds like you are starting your new you with a bang and a great attitude!

just keep coming back and keep recording and those days will add up, the pounds lost will add up and you will be looking fantastic!

Hi Ready for 18 !!!

I saw you were wanting to give up cheese.

I have found a brand a brand of cheese called Laughing Cow in the cheese section of the grocery store. You may want to check it out. It is a round box filled with diff flavored cheese wedges (garlic & herb, Creamy french onion, creamy swiss, etc) and each wedge is 35cal... I grab a whole wheat bread roll (200 cal or less) and one of the wedges for breakfast.


Keep at that exercise routine and you will be lookin' fine in no time. Best of luck to you.
 
Thanks for the heads up on the cheese! If I really get desperate I will do so, for now I'm trying to cut it (aka. No Pizza, I L.O.V.E Pizza!)
 
hey, i'm similar age, 19 y/o, and hope we can all help each other! i feel u on the pizza front! living at uni, my flatmates often tempt me with takeaways.... problem is, before it was ok cos they were quite far away when i lived at home, and delivery took too long. but living in the city of york, there is dozens of them! there is a chip shop on the road back from uni, and now 2 seconds (and i mean, i could *actually* run there in under 15 seconds frm my front door....) so it takes them no time to deliver me a steaming hot margherita...damn them for building a new pizza place so close!!

heads up tho, we'll get there hey! i just wish i could apply the 'everything in moderation' rule when there's a huge pizza and garlic bread and chips from the takeaway sat in front of me...!:rolleyes:
 
Best of luck Lerato! Lets hang in there together! I think once I have lost the weight I will order a Pizza as a victory meal afterwards! But then I'll hit the gym a few hours later.

Day 2 - January 18th 2006

- 2 hour Tennis Practice!

7 Sins: Nothing on list eaten today!

Food Intake:
Breakfast: Nutritional Drink ("Shape") & 2 Rusks ("Bread" for the day)
Lunch: Fruit Salad (with small pieces of Chicken)
Supper: Chicken & Fruit
Other: Chino Frappe (Very little Fat), Grapes
And: Approx 2L of Water intake

Well today I stood up and I was aching all over! But as they say, "No gain without pain!" So I got up at 5:50 and get ready for my "Upper-Body" workout. I managed all of the proposed goals with regards to the workout.

Today was my first day back to school (my last year) and I managed to hold out! I ate only a couple of grapes at school and held out till my two hour tennis practice! Must say it was tough! But the practice was 2-hrs long and we did court sprints, so I worked out even harder.

When I got home I did my schoolwork and did my second exersize routine, which was a little shorter, as I had already done "2.5 hrs" throughout the day. I still managed 30 minutes but I could only manage running on the treadmill for 15 minutes. But it worked out well. I am still aching everywhere and I know through this that my training is working!

I am motivated by you guys to keep this up and I can feel that this is the one!

I just finished reading your posts, you are doing great!! I think it's wonderful that you're taking control of your life at such a young age, I've always had a weight issue I wish I knew then what I know now. Keep up the fantastic work!!

Day 3 - January 19th 2006

Exersize: (80 minutes)

Food Intake: (Small Portions)
Breakfast: Nutritional Drink ("Shape") & 2 Rusks
Lunch: Ham Sandwich (Wholewheat, No Butter, Plain)
Supper: Meat, Potato, Salad/Fruit
Other: Chino Frappe (Very little Fat), Grapes, Mango
And: Approx 2L of Water intake

Aching as usual today! I simply could not do my situps in the morning routine, so I did them in my afternoon session. I felt great after the session and even though I am really sore all over, I am happy with how well I am doing! Today was my 4th day of going to the gym! I'm going to keep this up!

Tomorrow I leave for a Camp (till Sunday) so I'll be back then to post, I plan on waking up at 5:30 tomorrow to do one full routine, so I only miss one day, where I will obviously still eat well, just probably wont be able to exersize (taking my running shoes just in case) I'll be back Sunday with an update and then on Monday it is my first Weigh-in! How exciting!
