The Diary Of Gus

The pun's probly been used before. My bad.

I just started my new routine today. I finished my first session about 30 mins ago. The difference between this routine and my last one is that a) I'm doing free weights as apposed to machines and b) It's an actual routine. I was thinking about what I want to do fitness wise...and have come up with a list of things to prioritize.

1. Six Pack
2. Biceps
3. Quads
4. Triceps
5. Running and fitness I guess...

I don't have a diet. I want a diet. I'm trying to put one together, but it is confusing me.

So. My 'first' workout. It went pretty well I think, now I feel a bit worn out. We (me and my dad) did this workout at home since we have some weights and bars at home. Tomorrow morning will be the first time that I will step into the free weights section and do it properly. Although it might look a bit stupid I'm taking a book to record what I do, and have the reference sheets about the exercises im doing.

Write down you routine man and id be happy to have a look at it, an others would as well.

Also, keeping a record it definately not stupid its good thinking

Yeah I know, it's definately the way to go, just that like no one else does it at my gym. Actually just reading around here made me realise how bad many people at my gym are doing.

Session One
Front Squat
Horitontal Push (Lie on bench with two dumbbells, hold them to the side then push up. I don't know the proper name for this one)
Unilateral Movement (Dumbbell curls)
Dumbbell bent over row
Tricep Dumbbell Extentions
Situps (with weight, I've also learned doing 250 situps does jack ****.
External Rotor on Knee

Session Two
Close Grip Bench Press
Chin Ups
Unilateral Movement (Dumbbell curls)
Dumbbell Shoulder Press
Dumbbell Bent Over Row
Situps
External Rotor on Knee

Session Three
Deadlift Variation
Horizontal Push (Same as Session One)
Unilateral Movement (Dumbbell Curls)
Dumbbell Bent Over Row
Bicep Curls
Situps
External Rotor on Knee

My diet is the problem. I don't think it's terribly bad, but I just don't think I'm getting anywhere with it.

Situps really are a crap abdominal exercise to do 3x per week. Try leg raises and general core exercises.

...and today was my first time on the free weights in the gym. My muscles have felt a little weak all day, I guess that's what happens when you start something new like this. Diet's all I need to worry about now.
