Well, here I am. I guess it's time to finally get in gear and start dropping some of this pesky weight I've been lugging around for the past few years. I tend to write novels when it comes to these things, so why don't I make a list to avoid boring you who have stumbled upon this thread :)

Gender: Female
Height: 5'2
Weight: 216.2 (as of this morning!)
Goal: 140

Why:
Mostly health, but I'd love to wear my gothy clothes again! They look better without the flub :p

Time Frame:
I would love to have the weight gone by the end of 2012, or beginning of 2013. My boyfriend and I want to go to Disney, and that's when the Beast's Castle will be up!!

Obstacles:
I'm a Chipotle addict. I also lack motivation. And it's hot outside! Ew!

Plan:
Adjust my eating habits, go for walks more often, then upgrade to jogs, and maybe running!

Previous Attempts:
I never took it too seriously, but sometimes I count calories with the LoseIt! iPhone app. I do record my weight there though. I've already lost 6 pounds since April... slowly... so slowly...

Cooking:
My style of cooking is getting the meal out of the freezer and preparing it. I guess I have to change that... don't I? It's just SO hard to want to cook after a long day at work!

Fast Food:
I go to Chipotle 2-3 times a week. I get double rice, double steak, extra sour cream, extra cheese, corn, and a little lettuce. I eat half when we order and then the other half for another meal.

Eating Habits:
I used to eat out of boredom. I've finally kicked that in the butt. I now try to only eat until I'm not hungry instead of until when I'm full, but it's hard! I love food! I also tend to watch TV while I eat, but I watch TV because I'm eating, I don't eat because I'm watching TV.

Breakfasts:
I rarely leave time for it, but I try to eat oatmeal if I can. Otherwise I have Special K Breakfast bars I nom on the way to work.

Exercise:
I walk a few times a week. I'm also a groomer, so I wrestle a few dogs here and there. I need to do some more...

Wow, remember how I said I'd make a list so you didn't have to read a lot and get bored? I guess I lied. Sorry about that.

So, effective IMMEDIATELY I am going to start dropping 80 pounds of pudge. Any feedback or encouragement is most welcome. That's my way of saying please help me stay on track. I'm going to update this every day, in a simple (much shorter, I hope!) format.

I will go for a walk tonight after work. I will walk for at least 20 minutes, no matter how hot it is or or how worn out I am. If I post tomorrow that I didn't, you all have permission to slap me with a fish.​

You can do it dear!
You can do it slowly, so your body can adjust to it. As for cooking, maybe you should try and plan meals. Prepare the ingredients, etc. You save at least some time and you just have to cook the meal when you come home!

Welcome Delvian! Your diary title made me feel like I was entering a video game dungeon. I'm a dork, don't mind me. I just came back to the diary about a week ago so I am starting back on my journey as well.
Anyways we are similar in our goals, weight, height. I don't like to feel hungry either.

If you're curious, this is what I have done this past week. .
Some of these things have zero cooking involved so its easy to grab and go. Plus I buy pre-portioned snacks so I don't have to worry about that either.

That is so awesome. As far as being a dork... My username is based on Farscape, my Avatar is Doctor Who, and I referenced Monty Python in fish slapping. Who's the dork now? :hat:

Ok, you win!!! lol I hope it works out for you. I'm thinking I might want to stick with it for a 2nd week, but not sure yet. I'm still planning out my meals. The chicken with spaghetti and tomato sauce was great, just add a ton of spices to the tomato sauce and it will rock your socks off.

So be sure to come back and let us know how you're doing.
 
Well, I did it :) Granted, it was 11PM when I started, but I went for a 23 minute walk with my boyfriend. Woo! Felt good, even though I'm a little out of breath.

Have you thought about cooking meals for leftovers? I live alone but tend to cook meals for 4-6 people, put them in a sealed container in my fridge and then eat them over the following days. It's not much more effort to cook for four as it is to cook for one.
 
Thanks for the encouragement everyone! And I loooove leftovers, but I never considered cooking enough to get leftovers on purpose! EXCITED! Did I mention I'm so glad I joined these forums? lol

I work from 12:30-9 again tonight. It's raining pretty nicely here. If the rain lets up enough that I'm not sopping wet when I step outside, I'll go for another 20 minute walk. If it IS still wet out there, I will play "Dance On Broadway" for PS3 (it's a Move game that really makes you work hard if you aren't used to dancing) until I'm ready to die.

Leftovers are a great time and money saver!

These forums can be quite the source of support we need to stay on track. Many people going down the same road.
 
I agree with amy, cooking extra to put in the freezer is a great time saver when your rushed and need something healthy with not much time to cook it .
 
I admit, I didn't do my exercise tonight as I had planned. Today was my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend and he took me out as a surprise after I got home from work. My little sister is having her graduation party tomorrow, and I need to be up early for it so I won't have time to fit it in before bed tonight. I'll play PSMove extra tomorrow to make up for it :) Those Gladiator Battles really give you a good workout! One guy ended up burning 300 calories in 20 minutes playing Gladiator. :D

Up early this morning, off to my little sister's graduation/confirmation party! I did go out to dinner with my boyfriend last night for our anniversary and made some crappy choices... Jack Daniels burger and an alcoholic milkshake. I had oatmeal for breakfast and a smart ones for lunch though, and that was all before the TGIFriday Dinner. I guess it could have been worse, but I'm sure I still shouldn't have gotten all the yummies I did.

Today I'll do my best to not eat a lot of crap at my sister's party. We'll see how that goes! I'll also play Gladiator on Sports Champions until I pass out.
 
Eh don't wory, occasionally you can have something with more calories, but make sure you keep the control :)

Your voice is :eek2: !!! Absolutely amazing! You should definitely work in the vocal industry, also for cartoons, etc. :D

Anyway I've heard of Kingdom Hearts, but I've never really played it. I'm more of a WoW type girl :)
Btw can I poke you for a request? I'd love to hear one from the Beauty and the beast ? Also I think the song from Dragon Age (when you open the launcher) would fit your voice nicely ()!

TGIF is definitely not the place to go on a diet. I love their Jack Daniels menu. I can't even think about it! But I bet it was delicious all the same.

How was the graduation! Congrats to your family. And PSMove is a great way to exercise! I've only done it once at best buy and if I had spare money to spend one I would get it right away. Well, maybe not. My Wii is collecting dust right now and I begged my husband for it a few years ago.

I play WoW tooooo!! My main was Serraphina on Burning Blade, who was a night elf. But now I'm Delvian on Argent Dawn, a troll moonkin. I actually met my boyfriend in wow LOL!

I LOVE dragon age! I'll definitely look into that song! As for beauty and the beast, I already have one.

I haven't gone to my sister's party yet, I'm actually about to head out now. Her 8th grade graduation is in a week or two, but her Confirmation was today, and they are doing a double party for it.
