The Deadly Push at Salado

--20 min circuit--
E1)med inc db bench:85sX8X6
E2)hammer strength iso row:105+each sideX8X6 each side
E3)cable crunches:160X10X6
E4)cable pullthrough:160X10X6
E5)calf raise+isometric shrug hold:375X20X6

This circuit hurts.

That does look pretty sucktastic.

Yeah...I'm trying somethign similar to EDT training where you take a weight you can X amount of reps with and do about half the reps you'd normally do and do your movements in a circuit with as little rest as possible Soooo...I just decided to add extra movements and use no rest.

A bunch of throwing. The park we throw at doesn't have working lights at night. Soooo...we just worked on technique and didn't worry about measurements. Nothing more fun than not being able to see a hammer being released.

11/02/07

A)Push press:135X12, 185X8, 205X1, 240X2
B)deadlift:135X12, 205X8, 275X5, 325X1, 395X1
C)front squat:225X5, 275X5, 315X3, 365X2, 385X1+1 choke out
*I had the J hooks up a bit too high. As I was trying to get up on my toes to rack the bar, the bar was pressing harder and harder on my throat. The next thing I know I'm seeing stars and darkness and I'm clutching onto something as I'm wabbling.T The next thing I know as I start to come to is that I'm still standing but I've been surrounded by a bunch of guys waiting for me to fall and holding the bar. Apparently I had tipped the bar to one side and all the plates on one side had slid off. I'm guessing a couple of the trainers that were watching chatting near me saw me start to loose consciousness and ran over to grab the bar.

Soooo...I took a short break and started into my circuit

D1)med-high inc db bench:100sX8X3
D2)hammer strength iso row:125 a sideX10X3 each arm
D3)pullthroughs: 190X12X3

...I wasn't quite feeling 100% after being choked out so I stopped here and called it a day.

This time next week we'll be driving down to Texas for the Salado Highland Game.

AM-spent an hour revisiting grappling with a BJJ friend of mine.

PM-*Throwing*

We only pulled out the tape measure at the very end due to having a hunch that I hit a nice PR on the light hammer. We mainly worked on trying to tweak some last minute techniques to see if this worked or that worked better.

A)LWD:10 throws
B)HWD:5 throws-played with 3 throws after the 5 with the left hand for fun
C)Breamar:12 puts
D)H hammer:6 throws
E)L hammer:6 throws; hit 80' on the dot which is a new PR.

...I had training ADD tonight. Actually a lot of it was due to the unbelievable amount of people in the gym tonight taking up a lot of the equipment. All is well since it's 4 days 'till competition time. :)

2-a-days 96 hours away from Dday?

We normally throw on Tuesday, but the other two guys were uber busy tonight. I decided to just have a gym night since in reality there's not really anything I'm going to do to better my throws 4 days from the competition.

This'll be the last workout before Saturday rolls around.

...Okay, no competition as alluded to in other thread. Sucks.

Is it for sale?

Rent to own. It's really nice; however, I'm going to rent for another year or two and get my credit score up pretty high. When I buy, I want a couple acres of land. I'm tempted to have a house built on my grandfathers 5 acres and watch over him since he's pretty sick and refuses to take help from anyone due to being hard headed.

...I'm going to end this journal since Salado is no mas. I'll start an off-season journal.
