The big oak (Quercus) needs to drop some dead limbs!

I need a setup like that for my treadmill. Right now it sits facing a wall. A blank wall at that! Music helps, but it gets so boring. lol! Congrats on 325! You're doing great! :)

Mr. Vee- Maybe you could knock the paper boy off his bike and take it?...ha ha

Oak man- I would be so glad to .5 or .6 lb a day. Thats like 1750 deficit. I have done that in the past but doesnt seem to happen any more. I am hopeful that as my tolerance for exercise comes up (already happening after only a week) that I can burn more off.

1,750-2,100 by calculation

I'm eating 2,380 calories max and burning a little over 1,000 in daily exercise. My BMR is 2,486, so x 1.7 (Harris Benedict multiplier for "Very Active") is 4,226 which means -1,846 on a max calorie day or .53 pounds. Intermittent field work + an hour of biking a day is really helping. Yesterday I biked super hard and ate 1,976 calories.

I have a huge field project (wetland delineation 100'x 77 miles) coming up and that will boost my activity level. It remains to be seen if I can maintain the bike and calories with the increased workload, but I'm hopeful. I'm in the best shape I have been in for a long time and I look forward to a challenging field project to push myself.

TL/DR: I'm kicking >300 in the balls!

It's not tough. If you have a PC you can set up nearby, you can mount a monitor on the wall or the treadmill. Wireless mouse and keyboard where you can get to them and you are in business. Sooo much easier to make it an hour that way!

Back on track with a loss I see! Great job, Quercus. One of these days, the slimmer you and I will have to celebrate at that Tapas bar in Seattle... or a beef brisket place somewhere in Texas.

I thought of a better stencil. I'll post a pic when I do it.

I will leave the category of extreme obesity when I get out of the 320s. 319 is 39.9 for my height. Then I get to be regularly obese for a long while or maybe forever. 239 would barely fit me into the overweight category. I don't even know if that's a feasible weight for me. I'm more concerned with my belly measurement than the weight. It will be interesting to see what my BMI is when I get below 40" on the belly circumference.

Krebs cycle...ha...bad college memory

Congrats on on going from severly obese to merely obese! That where I stays!

Didnt know that there was any wetland left in Texas after the last few years.

You're killing it, Quercus!

7.4% vs. my 7.5%

You've caught me and I think you're about to blow past me. It doesn't mean I'm throwing in the towel just yet, though. :)

Thanks everyone!

It was a brutal day in the field today. I can barely walk, so no bike tonight. I pushed, pulled, and tried to dig out a four-door, 4 wheel drive truck with a rusty broken shovel head TWICE in addition to doing a survey of the the thickest thorniest shit that I've ever been in. I also forgot my machete, so I have an uncountable number of scratches and cuts on both of my legs. The thick work shirt and leather gloves saved my hands, arms , and torso.

The shittiest part is the pad had to be moved to the other side of the property so I get to do it again Friday. Kiss my ass Lousyana!

I also didn't drink enough water, had breakfast at 6:30 and "lunch" at 4:30. This may kill my weight loss streak as I'll have to eat and rehydrate late.

327.2 this morning. Holy friggin rebound! The lower number from yesterday is certainly closer to my "real" weight because I'm swollen and sore today. My wedding ring is super tight, both ankles and knees have some swelling and I hurt everywhere. I tried to pull a truck out strongman style with a tow strap wrapped around my chest I yanked and pulled for a long while. Enough to sweat through my tee shirt and heavy canvas button up shirt and soak my hair in 50 degree weather. I also dug in the mud with only a shovel head and pushed as we tried to get it out. We had another work truck come out and get us unstuck, but the mud had caked and dried in the tires and we got stuck again before we got back to the road.

I was asleep within a half hour of eating last night. It will drop quickly and tomorrow shouldn't be nearly as bad. At least I know where not to drive out there. It will add over two miles of muddy walking to our day, but that's the easiest option at this point.

Edit: I didn't think to mention that my allergies were killing me yesterday so my mouth and throat are swollen and sore and my sinuses hurt this morning. I'll stop whining now.

Thats just water...no way you gained real weight with all that activity. I bet you get a "real number is a day or 2" I used to weigh every day but went to once a week.

Yeah, agreed. When I have a day remotely like you described, it's almost a gain due to water retention because I didn't hydrate properly. It'll all come back off over the next couple of days.
