The best at home exercises?

I live in the Bronx, but I work, don't have the time or money for the gym. So when I do work out, its at my apt.

I do alot of burpees(modified burpees), push ups, modified push ups (diamond, wide, etc), squats, other lower body exercises. I also have a pair of 20 lb dumbbells that I use to use.

My goal is lower my body fat. I'm 5"9 around 170. Everything is solid, especially my shoulders, but my core is it not at its best shape. My chest and core are soft, and I've been trying to change that recently. I'm not trying to get BIG, and I understand you need muscle to burn fat, but I'm trying to slim down my figure, I feel its too muscular.

I've change my diet also, no more soda, eating late, eating junk food, been looking to a more healthier variety of foods. I also gave up drinking and smoking pot, two bad habits that ruined my body.

I'm looking for any information for a good set of at home exercises. The number of sets/reps, or even a nice little interval program for a full body workout. I don't have any major equipment except a pair of 20 lb dumbbells.

Thanks for reading, peace.

Do some research on bodyweight exercises. There are a ton of bodyweight workouts that you could utilize. Have you ever heard of the Ruff Ryder Workouts in New York. Here's a link.....................

Well done on quitting drinking and pot. One the best exercises you'll ever discover!!

When I hadn't a penny to my name, and before I got weights i used use whatever was natural. Bags with rocks/sand, bedsider locker filled with books etc.
Okay, I didn't build muscle with these things, but they did at least keep me in some from of shape.
If you want to lower body fat, you gotta watch your diet and do cardio to brun off the excess fat.

I'll leave someone more advanced recommend any specific workout programme for you :)

read around the nutrition section of this forum.

i believe if you bought a chinup bar, that variations of verticle pulls could get you a fairly impressive physique.

for lower body, try some one legged squats(pistols). you do them with body weight and they are pretty hard but fun.
you can also do some bulgarian split squats with the dumbells.

you can do explosive pushups, pushups with each arm and your legs inclined on books or cinder blocks, 1 arm pushups(or attempts).

you can do renegade rows, dumbell rows, inverted rows(if you put a chinup bar closer to the ground)

you can do military presses with the dumbells.
