Alright where to start, where to start.

I have finally as of 1/13/07 become sick of my patterns. For months I have been eating some form of fast food at least once a day. on saturday the 13th of jan. I woke up and I felt alright, at lunch i was driving to get lunch but my body couldent take another double cheesburger, it wouldent let me. For some reason I ordered a salad and since then I have been on my diet doing pretty good.

I currently weigh about 285 and hopefully thats the most i will ever weigh.

In my first week of dieting I have lifted twice and played tennis 3 nights, I just feel it. I have been doing well on eating until about last night. It was defiently the hardest of anynight. I felt like snacking and did sorta, just to kill the feeling. I had a couple pretzels, a couple triscets and then after playing tennis a small bowl of raisin bran. I am not going to dwell on last night just move forward.

I did start this journal to track my progress and to battle the urges, so when I get an urge to eat I am gonna try to come in here and write instead of snack. Wish me luck I am doing my first weigh in today since i started a week ago @ 285.

I'm glad you are here. I have trouble with fast food, too. I have teenaged kids that are wanting food "right now" and it is so easy while we are driving by to just get some & forget about getting a mess out at home to cook. No dishes, no pots or pans...
Evening & night times are difficult. I've tried beef jerky, since it has very little fat and I have to chew a lot to eat it. I'm not sure how many calories it has.
I'm totally impressed that you play tennis. That's great.

Thanks for the support guys, I weighed in before work and a week later I am 276 :) i weighed myself after work and I weighed 272, I know its all water weight but I am sticking to the heavier of the readings :). So all in all 10 quick lbs. off, more to go :)
 
2 week update.

Alright its been an alright week, I never strayed to bad from the diet. Had a couple snacking issues but at least I picked things like pretzels and that nature instead of ice cream and second meals.

Its been raining here latley so I havent been able to play tennis either which is gonna help me loose a lot of the weight.

My current weight is now 270, so far 15 lbs! Many more to come.

Now for the pics... This doesnt make me happy.

what's your meal plan look like that you're dropping weight so quickly -

what a nice motivator to have some small changes make such a huge difference - congrats on your success so far
 
thanks, I am really just cutting back on what I eat, making healthy choices. I have not been working out yet just cutting back. its a real testiment for eating healthy to lose close to 25 lbs and not work out by just eating better.

for instance today i had 2 eggs on a piece of toast with peanut butter on it with a bannana for breakfeast.

lunch i had a turkey sandwhich with pretzels and cottage cheese and orange and bannana.

dinner i had half a chicken without skin and a big salad.

thats it for the day. I would normally get wendys then wendys then a bowl of cereal and things of that nature.

Alright My first night back at the thick of things and I am craving something to eat in the worst way. I did my opening every cupboard routine and returned to my room without anything.

I think I am home free for the night but I almost gave in, if their was an oreo or a piece of pizza in the fridge it would have been over. Wish me luck :)

You don't suck at life!! I have been through that routine a jillion times. Stay strong and you'll get through it:)

Day 2 8-4-07

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I did go the night without eating anything which is a feat all in itself. This morning I had some toast with peanut butter, but what I am really worried about is lunch. I work at a shop with someone that cant be left alone so we usually have to order out. man oh man, maybe i will do subway and bring it in.

I will give you guys an update when I get back and am craving something else to eat :) have a great weekend.
 
boy oh boy...I didnt pick my screen name for no reason.
tomorrow is another day worked for scarlett o'hara... in real life today is what matters - what's in the past is in the past just keep going forward...
 
Seems cravings are perfectly natural part of eating in general. Just have to know when to kick them in the head! Just been out shopping for my lunch in Somerfield and saw some guy infront of me with pies in his basket. Man I would KILL for a pie right now but it aint happening!! No siree!

Looks like you're doing really well. Eating healthly in moderate proportion is the way to go!
