The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

Those pictures are amazing and that story is awesome! Your hair is gorgeous, too. You totally are an inspiration, specifically to those of us who were trying to focus on exercise and claimed to have no time or energy. You did it with way more on your plate than many of us and look at how great the result was!

Well done Tiggy. I still can't believe the transformation!

I think you should be the cover girl/spokesperson for Weight Loss Forum!

Wonderful!

Thanks Laura! It's so nice of you to say so. I don't know where this iron willpower is coming from because that's really not the typical me. I keep waiting for the switch to shut off and I go back to my lazy old self again. I keep hoping if I just grit my teeth and JUST DO IT it will become normal habit for me - the eating the exercising, etc. Sounds good in theory right? Cross my figers that it actually works that way!

Hey FLUMES!!!! So you are SUCH a sweetie for saying that! Made my day all over again! I'm so glad you decided to stop by. It's good to hear from you again.

Hope you're feeling better bud. I think of you often because you were one of the first here on the forum to make me feel welcome. Take care and hope to see you stopping in again more often!

Omg, woman! That story was adorable!!! It just goes to show how Amazing you are!! I am so happy for your success and determination!! :D!

You are definitely an inspiration! And you are definitely almost high school weight but better! Definitely more muscle definition and that's better! As far as your husband, what a great gift to hear it from other men as well!

What does he tell you now that he sees you all transformed? I mean, I know that he sees you all the time, but it's moments like those that make a person really re evaluate the progress that you made. Does he congratulate you or tell you how great it made him feel? :) Again, Greattttt work, lady!! :D!

Hi Tigpuppy,

I enjoyed reading your progress. I think slow but sure will win the race and I agree artificial sweeteners are horrid (both in taste and for the health)

I found eating as many raw foods as possible and cutting down on refined sugar and grains really got things going for me. Seems to be helping my boyfriend too. We have a morning smoothie, with sea veggies (kelp, wakame, arame), berries, a few nuts, and other fresh veggies and some super foods like chia seeds, and wild microedible algae. It really helps balance the thyroid, fill up the tummy for ages and kick in some good energy. Just a suggestion instead of cereal and milk.

Here are some ideas for healthy skin I use and also read again recently.

Rub olive oil, coconut oil and shea butter on your skin during a bath.

Nuts (in moderation)

The benefits of nuts -- especially almonds -- have to do with antioxidant activity. Vitamin E fights skin-aging free radicals, and also helps your skin hold in moisture.

Red and Green Vegetables

Orange-red vegetables are full of beta-carotene. Your body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which prevents cell damage and premature aging. Spinach and other green, leafy foods provide lots of vitamin A, too.

Citrus Fruits

Vitamin C aids in your body's production of collagen, which is the protein that forms the basic structure of your skin. Collagen breakdown can leave your skin saggy, and vitamin C will help tighten it back up.

Most of all, I want to congratulate you on sharing your inspiration and wish you luck!

Thanks Alta! My husband is a man of few words, but I know he's proud of how I look now. He may not actually say much to me, but I hear from people all the time how he brags about me and how much weight I've lost and how far I run each week. You get a few drinks into the man and he starts spouting mushy words of love, sometimes to the point of being embarrassing. LOL! And every time he walks past me his actions speak louder than words. He can't pass by without stopping to hug me, running his hands over my now firm butt, and up across my abs that are finally taking shape. He does this funny little growl thing in his throat and I know without a doubt that he completely approves of what he sees 100% and it always leaves me smiling!

Amazing pictures!!!! You are gorgeous, lovely hair too.

You look so good! Its hard to imagine what I'll look like when I get down to my ideal weight... if I can look a hair as good as you I'll be content! :) Well done! I'm glad you posted.

I'm vegging on the couch tonight and completely enjoying my rest day. Although, since it was a rest day I probably shouldn't have combined that with a splurge day as well! LOL! Oopsies!

One of our biggest customers called last week and said they wanted to bring in muffins as a thank you for all the great work my project team has done over the last few months. They asked if they brought them, would I eat one? Or would I prefer they bring me some fruit? I was touched that they even thought to ask me, but I said knowing that they were coming I would budget my calories accordingly and have one. So I figured I just wouldn't eat breakfast today. I even put it on my calendar to remind me NOT to eat breakfast. But silly me I completely forgot anyway and had breakfast as usual because I was STARVED when I got up this morning. All I could think about was putting food into my belly! Then I got into work and saw the reminder pop up on my calendar about 5 minutes before they had these GIANT muffins delivered. I decided I would have one, but only after I knew exactly how many calories I was putting into my body. So I looked up the company's website and found the nutrition information for the double chocolate, chocolate chip muffin I picked. 600 CALORIES! Yikes!

But I completely enjoyed every single one of those 600 extra calories today!

I had planned to eat light the rest of the day, but then around lunchtime my day went to shit. I was supposed to meet someone at a local McDonalds to pick up a used laptop that I found advertised online for really cheap. The person would not give their name or phone number, and didn't want me to come to their residence to pick it up, and suggested meeting at McDonalds. I gave them my cell and work phone numbers and told them to call if anything changed. I gave them a description of what I look like and told them what I'd be wearing. I told them (all this was via e-mail) that I would leave work at 11:30 and would be there by 11:45 for sure. I am REALLY anal about being on time, so I made sure I was there by 11:40. There was only 2 people there, so I sat down right in front of the door and waited for someone to come in carrying a laptop.

I waited. And I waited. At 12:00 I called hubby at home to see if we had gotten any e-mails from this person. We had! At 11:35 they sent a message saying that they drive a red van and would see me in a little while. I scanned the parking lot for any red vans. None. My stomach was growling like crazy, so I ordered some chicken nuggets while I waited. I waited some more. Still didn't see any red vans. Finally after waiting for an hour and 40 minutes I was extremely PISSED OFF and left. The parking lot was nearly empty by then. When I got to work I sent a nasty e-mail saying I had waited for over an hour and a half inside the mcdonalds, then left. They responded back that they had waited out in the parking lot for an hour, then left. I thought WHAT THE HELL??? I never saw a red van enter or leave the parking lot at all. And who the hell sets up a meeting at a public place like that and doesn't bother coming inside?!?!??!?!??!??!? Whatever. I really wanted this laptop, especially since they were only asking $75 for it! So I e-mailed back asking if we could set up another meeting sometime? I told them that I had to work late to make up for being gone so long for lunch (normally I only take half an hour lunches) but could meet after that. I have yet to hear back from them.

HOW RUDE!

With the muffin for 2nd breakdfast and the nuggets for lunch (dunked in hot mustard sauce - YUM!) I was at my limit of calories for the day. But hadn't eaten very much that was healthy. So I figured the heck with it. I'll go over calories today, but the rest of the day will be all healthy calories like fruits and veggies.

But then I got into a bit of an argument with one of my best pals at work. He was whining yet again about being fat, about hating his job, about being in debt because he never puts his foot down to his wife's overspending, and about having no sex life to speak of except for watching porn while hiding from his wife in the basement and taking care of business himself - then putting up with his wife elbowing him in the ribs every Sunday morning in church because their pastor is a freak and has to bring up what an evil sin porn addiction is almost EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! I was just NOT in the mood to listen to his whining and stroke his ego to make him feel better. I told him if you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude and be happy with what blessings you have. If you can't do either of those, SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY because after hearing about it for almost 10 years now I am SICK OF IT!!!!

He didn't speak to me for the rest of the day. And the dude is the king poutiness. He acts all sullen, with arms crossed, and bottom lip sticking out while glaring at you. He acts worse than my kids when he's pouting! SHEESH! I mean is he 3 or 38? Some days I can't tell! I know I owe him an apology for being such a bitch to him, but I also know that it won't do any good to even try until he gets over his pout. I'll have some major sucking up to do tomorrow...

As you can imagine I was in a foul mood when I got home tonight. I walked in the door and hubby is yelling at the kids for getting water on my coffee table. We have a formal living room (no TV in it and it's supposed to be kept clean in case we get unexpected company) with victorian style furniture in it that is my pride and joy because hubby bought it for me one year as my birthday/anniversary/Christmas present. He was yelling and wiping it off, asking which of the kids had done it and was threatening to punish ALL of them if someone didn't fess up! When all of a sudden PLOP! A drop of water landed on his face. Here we discovered there is water dripping down the light fixture onto the table! We have no clue where it could be coming from. There is a HUGE walk in attic above that space and we can't find any moisture anywhere. It's completely baffling!

So even though I'm about 500 calories over today already, I'm going to go drown my crankies in a glass of sangria and go to bed.

Tomorrow will be a better day....

That's so awesome Tigs, sounds like your hubby is a keeper for sure!
Love the pics too, I bet no-one would ever believes you were bigger...

That's so cool what your hubby's mate said - must have made you feel amazing!

I agree with Flumes too by the way!

Ok....some guy wants to sell you a laptop or 75 bucks and doesnt want to be seen in public??

HELLOOO?????

Don't ya think it sounds like was probably stolen?? Or at least very fishy...like does it even work?

My goodness honey.....sometimes the good lord sends us messages...but sometimes he should carry a bat! lol

Please...be careful Tiggs! Hate to see ya get rooked or sucked in to something worse.

Oh man! We must have been typing at the same time Tigs, I didn't see that post at all!

The laptop guy sounds like a right douche!

And the co-worker... far out I hate it when people just go on and on and on. It's so rude...

I hope you find out what on earth the water is from, have to say I'm glad it wasn't the kids though!

Hope tomorrow's a better day Tigs, enjoy the sangria. Have one for me!

What a crazy day!

ITA about that shady laptop. Just be really careful, okay?

I recently had a muffin day, as well! I want to Starbucks in Geneva with my oldest daughter and had the reduced fat blueberry muffin...which is 430 calories! It was a big deal for me, but I'd planned for it and really enjoyed it....

I hope the rest of this weeks goes better for you!!!!

Aww, Tig, what a crappy day! Besides the muffin, of course, which sounds amazing. The laptop guy sounded shady, maybe it was for the best that it didn't work out. But yeah, who sets up a meeting and doesn't go IN to the meeting place?? After you saying what you would be wearing, clearly he should have expected to be looking for YOU and not your car.

Hope the leak gets fixed soon, and that today is a better day all around!

Thanks everyone for your concern over the laptop deal. From the e-mails exchanged I have been assuming this person was a woman, but don't know for certain. And the person has been up front about why the laptop is so cheap - it has problems. The battery no longer takes a charge and the modem doesn't work. It comes with a power cord, so I can live with the battery not working. And I have a plug in wireless modem at home I can use if I need to connect to the internet. We intended this laptop to be used by hubby's shooting club and wanted just some crappy machine to take out to the range to enter shooter registrations on, and record match results, etc. Also, we have DVDs burned with pictures and movie clips of past shoots that we would like to have playing during the matches for people to watch and this laptop comes with a working DVD player in it. So it's perfect for us.

However, I don't know yet if this other person is still willing to sell it to me or not. I haven't heard a peep out of them since they said they waited an hour in the parking lot and left.

We'll see what comes of it I guess. If they change their mind about selling, I guess I'll keep looking. There were others advertised for $100 to $200. I just started with the cheapest! Gotta pinch them pennies you know! :sifone:

Stepped on the scale this morning because I wanted to torture myself over eating that yummy muffin yesterday. :sifone: But I was tickled to see 135.6! YAY! That's a new all time low for me (but only by .2 of a lb) because the lowest I got before the holidays was 135.8. I have one of those scales that you can program with your height, age, etc. and when you push the body fat button and step on it will give you your weight, then tell you your % of body fat and your hydration level. Well, when I did that this morning it said I had 16% body fat! I was going WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!? That can't be right! Turns out that the kids must have been messing with the settings and made me 2 inches taller, 7 years younger and a MAN! LOL! So I fixed the settings and put my own stats back in and it said I'm now at 25% body fat. That's a new all time low for me too! The lowest I have ever gotten it was 27% a couple of months ago.

There is a setting where you indicate if you are an athlete or not, but I always put no for that. Maybe I should try putting yes and see what numbers I get? Hmmmm....

So YAY!!! :hurray: Things are still moving in the right direction!
