The amazing shrinking woman (I hope!)

hey Tigs - your stories are hillarious!!! I can't believe your skirt fell off! Nice to be that skinny though - think how you would have felt 60lbs ago!!

You should take your husband out rock climbing - that might be a real motivator when he realises what he can't do anymore - I look at stuff at our local crag that I used to sprint up when I was at university and I want to be back to being able to do that again.

i know what you mean...
i have baci in the house (baci is "kisses" in italian and it s a famous italian chocoalte) - my friend brought it for me last week frm Rome....
i m craving...now that its open....i m so bad with discipline...when i have it lying around the house..

Your poor cows!

The cows around where I live are all happy. It's practically like springtime already, even up here in the mountains! (I mean, I guess they're happy. It's not like they smile, or anything....)

Best of luck getting your sweetie to exercise with you and get fit again. As you said, it really has to come from him....

No bake cookies.... YUM! I polished off way too many of those last time I made them... Ex wasn't a sweets guy, and unfortunately new man isn't a chocolate guy. Looks like I'm still on my own when I make those!

I got nervous when I read you were working out with a pulled muscle. Take care of yourself!!! Wish I could try and inspire you to be in the mood for your runs... I'm fighting myself. I have to have Lisa (chubbygirl) remind me I'm training to get my own butt in gear.

Hope you're not still snowed in!!

Hey Tig maybe you are just getting bored with your routine and you need to shake it up a bit? That happens to me all the time! Why don't you try running a mile and then getting off and doing part of the body weight exercises and then repeat that sequence a few times. Or have you ever tried workout dvd's? I'm doing the 30 day shred one and the time goes by so quickly. Just a thought.
That would be funny picturing your husband running in his jeans and cowboy boots!
Cookies are so hard to resist and once you have one it's so hard to stop. Something that sorta turned me off cookies was when I was counting WW points and I would be allowed 20 points in a day and I used the calculator to figure out how many points were in a Tim Horton's cookie (because I used to get at least one everytime I went through the drive through) and there were 5 points!! That was more points than my lunch somedays! Makes me think everytime I go for one and I will never eat another Tim's cookie again!

I still can't believe it fell off either! :blush5:

Hubby took me up rock climbing once, and I freaked. It wasn't even a hard climb where we needed all his fancy equipment. By the time he got me down my knees were shaking so hard, and when I got back down to level ground, I puked. At the top of a cliff is NOT the best place to discover you are deathly afraid of heights!

My hubby's climbing partner was my brother in law. But he and my sister got divorced about 9 years ago, and I think they both thought it would just be too awkward to continue spending time together. So hubby hasn't gone climbing since. None of his other friends have the interest, nor the physical ability to be his new climbing partner. So he just doesn't do it any more.

I would have a really hard time leaving it alone once it's open. I'd be constantly thinking about it until it was all gone. There have been times where I think just eat it all and get it over with! Then the temptation will be gone!

LOL - well, I don't know if our cows are actually happy or not. But we sure have a couple of darn cute calves! The neighbor's bull broke out of his fence ad got in with our cows at the WRONG time of year, so we had a couple of calves born late last fall instead of this spring when they are supposed to be born. They grew this extra thick, extra long fuzzy hair to cope with the cold weather that looks adorable. It looks like every day is a bad hair day for them. And they play together in the snow on nice sunny days, romping all over, bucking and acting crazy. I keep meaning to take some pictures of them before spring when they'll lose all that extra hair.

And we can't let those goodies go to waste, can we? At least I never could. Hubby would beg me to bake something, have one piece, then not want the rest. So I'd end up eating most of an entire batch of cookies, pan of caramel rolls, etc. No wonder I was obese!

As for the pulled muscle - I was doing pushups the other day for the bodyweight challenge and the kids were wrestling nearby. They bumped into me, which caused me to wrench something in my ab area. I couldn't finish the rest of the challenge that day because it hurt too much. And I didn't do too much yesterday because it was still pretty sore. Today is a rest day, and tomorrow is my easy running day, so I won't be doing the body weight challenge until Thursday again. Hopefully it's all better by then, but if not - I'm not going to push my luck.

Good luck keeping up with your runs too!

I try to avoid baking as much as possible which is a shame as I love to bake but like you I just can't resist. I tend to bake now when I know there will be a lot of people around and make sure that they all get eaten or taken away by the family. There is no way I could resist home baked goodies.

Sounds like you have quite a bit of work with the ranch. Keep up with the runs - you know how great you feel after.

Love the story about the pantyhose.....can only imagine.

Oye has it been a long hectic week! I was oncall this week and got called almost every night, plus working my regular hours during the day. I was operating on less than 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night. I had so much overtime in for the week that I was off as of 9:00 am on Thursday, but left so much unfinished work hanging that I felt guilty - so I was working off the clock on a few things. I got my run in on Wednesday night, but by Thursday when I was supposed to do the bodyweight challenge and lift weights I had fallen asleep because I was just exhausted. Today I spent a lot of the day trying to catch up on sleep. I managed to get in a good run tonight (a little over 4 miles) and am feeling pretty good tonight. But eating has been crappy, so I doubt that it offset all the extra calories I've eaten the last few days.

Today was my oldest daughter's 10th birthday. I know she was pretty disappointed that we couldn't have a party for her. The roads have been horrible and the county hasn't plowed them - so no one could get thru unless they have a 4X4 vehicle to get out here. We'll see what the weather does and then maybe have a party for her next week. In the mean time we just had a family get together at home with hubby's parents (since they live right next to us). She was also happy to receive her gift from me. She has been bugging me for the last year to wear a bra, but she hasn't really needed one because she's not developing yet. She still doesn't need one, but I feel bad for her that she's one of the last 2 girls in her class that don't wear one yet. I started wearing one when I was 9 because my mother made me. I was sprouting these cursed things at a very early age. But I had a couple of friends that were flat as a board well into high school and remember how it was just as distressing for them to be flat as it was for me to be developing way before the other girls. Soooo... I gave her 3 little teeny tiny, itsy bitsy scraps of cloth as a birthday present today. They are rediculously tiny. I barely remember wearing anything that tiny. One was baby blue, one pink, and one black. She's on cloud 9 and feeling so grown up!

And I'm feeling old...

LOL I remember that feeling of being old when my daughter got her first bra. The first time I drove past my son hand in hand in the street with a girl I burst into tears!!! I hope you are feeling more rested now. Have a great weekend.

Eycky - I don't even want to think about the whole boyfriend issue when it comes to my girls. I don't think I'll ever be ready for that!

I wrestled with myself all afternoon about doing my work out. Today is full body weight training day, plus I was supposed to do the bodyweight challenge. Well, I managed the weight training, but bailed on the bodyweight challenge. I'm falling back into my old ways of just doing my runs and not doing the weight training. But I know I need to do both. When I just do my runs my weight loss seems to have stalled lately. But with adding in the weight training it's started moving again. Plus I love how firm my body has gotten. Some parts are rock hard even! But I just detest that part of my exercise program and I don't know why.

Maybe like Lisa mentioned I just need to change things up? Maybe I'm just bored with my current routine?

Something's gotta change though - or I'm not going to be able to keep up with this exercise program. I don't want to have to struggle and fight with myself every day to get my workout done. If that's the way it's going to be I'm bound to fail.

Man you're such a cool Mum Tigs... :Angel_anim:
My first bra was like this.
11/12 year old Jess arrives home from a sleepover at a school friend's place.
She enters her bedroom to find a brown paper bag on the end of the bed. Said bag contains a hideous beige, triangular training bra. Jess is not impressed and is thoroughly embarrassed. Not a word is ever spoken about said bra!

I swear I won't do that to my daughter!

ITA that you are one super-cool mom, Tigs!

And poor Jess- I can't imagine! Beige triangles in a paper bag? Bleh!
We're such a girlie household over here...my three daughters have been raised to know that gorgeous underwear is one of many reasons to love being female!

you really giving me ideas with th weight training ... i really should do it on swimming/cardio days.

i m also getting bored with my excercize routine - even though i added some variety with the fitness ball - but the gym session still bores me...
what i try do is to make me a bit motivated - is to update songs on my ipod - so i look fwd to listening my new songs while i work out.
Good music could make a real difference!!! :)

Hey Tigs, sorry I have been MIA. Taking some time off to enjoy myself. I see you missed a bodyweight routine session too. I think its good to take breaks and get really rested up, at least that's what I do! going to check out our bodyweight thread and see what I've missed.
