TGD17's Battle Of The Bulge !

Ran the mile again today in under 10 minutes.

Besides my pancake & 2 eggs for breakfast, I had some slices of sharp cheddar cheese & an orange. Not sure what I am making for dinner *off to the kitchen*. EDIT: Ended up making whole grain pasta & shrimps :D After dinner I was still super hungry so I downed several glasses of water, also had 2 whiskey on the rocks.

Just woke up, before eating breakfast I decided to walk a mile. Did it at 3.8 pace on a "5" incline for 20 minutes, ended up walking a mile & 1/4 in that amount of time. Still planning on running my standard mile later at 6 pace & finishing it strong with 7 to get my time under 10 minutes :) Might have some oatmeal for breakfast. Oh by the way, 231 :D

Are you still losing weight with those pancakes? Are they normal, or whole grain or something. It actually sounds tasty, and I hate breakfast.

a few eggs and two medium size pancakes, with some blueberrys or even chocolate chips is a breakfast that you could have a few times a week and stay perfectly on pace...I came up with this, it is very healthy and very good, i was actually shocked but the taste.
Breakfast. 1/3rd avocado, 1/4 sweet onion, few ounces of carrots, one thin slice to deli turkey breast a little broccoli. Mix that together, then made southwest egg beaters and ate it like a omelet.

Hey Hey Dane, as you requested i'll keep an eye on your journal and follow your adventure. Seems like you've been doing good so far, The stuff I was going to critique on Kara brushed up on pretty much completely.

Ignore fatmans previous posts. quite uncalled for, You yourself haven't posted even when you go to sleep so what's the deal with trying to harass someone about when they wake up? I work nights, and my sleep schedule changes quite often. Sleep is good. I'd rather have the sleep my body needs than to wake up early and exhausted.

Great to see your Cardio is progressing. Please; Please make sure to not make my mistake. Add some form on strength training to supplement you on your journey, rather than when you get closer to the end.

Pushups are a great upper-body exercise, Be sure to do them nice and slow though, fast-jerky Pushups will get you nowhere. If you find the normal stanced Pushup to be hard, don't be afraid to go on your knee's and do the 'girl pushup' Until you build the strength to do them on your hands only.

You mentioned you have a bench and some weights for it, Well it may not be perfect, but you could also incorporate some bodyweight Squats into a routine and if those are too easy, do it while hanging onto a plate. You could even just hang onto a plate and do Curls for your Biceps, Overhead Presses for triceps / Shoulders etc etc. Just take some creativity. When money is available, a set of dumbells will go a loooooong way.

the only thing I would nag on is don't be afraid to eat some more meals, More Protein. At my grocery store I usually buy little Single pack Steaks, Beef on a Bun strips, Kabobs, etc. and just whip them up over the day and eat.

Even if it's a plain ol' white flour pancake. It's not gonna kill your weightloss unless your eating them daily, and in big portions (2,3 big ones etc) I eat something 'bad' pretty much daily and it's all good. Just need to keep yourself on-track on your exercises, and that you're not eating poorly all day.

As to calories / Protein in meats. A food scale costs 10$ at Wal-Mart and will fulfill all your needs. Although when it comes to Stir-Frys, Stews, or Soups, etc. Measuring content is hard. It comes down to your own rule of thumb. But Chicken breasts, Wings, Heck even French Fries a food scale can help ya out greatly. Throw it in; Weighs: 100g. French Fry package says 60g =120Cals, 3 Protein. Just do a bit of math and boom.

I'll be sure to frequent your thread~ Take Care

Indeed I am. I had leftover batter and I made myself one today for breakfast, and cooked up two eggs put syrup on top of it. Didn't eat until dinner because I knew what I was eating CARNIDAS ! Mexican steak, then I prepare it with onions, silantro etc. Wrap it up in a tortilla, put some guacamole on it, some Jalepenos... It was soooooo good - Probably my worst day calorie wise, but it was worth it, ended up dropping a pound :D 230, I am so ready to see 229 on that scale... Anyways, today I got my running shoes delivered by the UPS, so I hope to do two runs today. Just had a small bowl of oatmeal for breakfast :)

Many thanks for the stopping by & offering some tips Silvx :D I'll be sure to look for some high protein snacks next time I am at the market. I am looking for a set of dumb bells on craigs list as we speak ! Thanks again.

Just put the first mile on my new running shoes :D Drank water too close to when I ran and I cramped up but I fought through finished it in under 10 minutes !

For breakfast, I had oatmeal. Lunch was just apple & some slices of sharp cheddar cheese. Dinner was sloppy joes on a(1) sandwich thin, I also had 3 or 4 bites of carnidas, some salad & a Jalepeno. I had dessert for the first time in awhile, 10-15 chocolate covered almonds :) Hopefully that didn't nip me in the butt too bad I want to see 229 on the scale tomm morning baby !

Weird day. Felt under the weather, did not eat breakfast, had two tuna sandwichs at lunch on sandwich thins though. I snacked on more then a few pita chips(grr they are hard to put down - Note to self: AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS) before dinner. For dinner I had two slices of pork roast & a whole lot of salad with red wine vinegar as dressing. I did not run today until... I played hackeysack after dinner, then I decided, I am already sweaty - Why not? So I ran the mile after dinner, now I am feeling much better about my day. Tomorrow I hope to start my two mile per day regiment ! Wish me luck :)

Ate a big breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon & a biscuit with jam n a glass of milk. Didn't run today :( Wanted to start my two mile a day regiment but i was gone looking at cars all day. For dinner I had a super burrito with pastor(spicy pork) - I sliced it up and ate it throughout the night. I was hanging out with a(the) girl at a party and we went to sleep at 10:30, I was woke up at 3:00am and we had had a few(...) shots with lime juice as a chaser ----- No Calories ! -----. When I got back to my house early in the morning, I weighed myself to see what kind of issues eating just a super burrito, big breakfast & some booze would do to my weight... Amazingly I dropped 3 lbs, 227.5 in the morning :D

Well did you get some exercise between 10:30pm and 3am???? Plus, i have boozed hard and ate shitty and dropped, it has to due with dehydration, i bet you will come up the next day, but hopfully not

I did. But you were right about being dehydrated, now I am sitting at 229 again - After my first workout of the day. Missed yesterday being sick laying around. I ran the mile in under 10, then did a lap of 3.7mph at a 6 incline, then ran another lap at 6mph. Did this all before eating & I am going to wait an hour before I do eat.

Ended up eating two BL(Bacon & Lettuce - No tomato :( ) Sandwich's for lunch, didn't eat breakfast. Had a orange as a snack then ran a mile in under 10 mins, did a lap on the 6 incline 3.7 speed, sprinted a lap after that ended up 20 minutes for this workout. First day of two full miles ++ !! Not sure what I am going to make for dinner, but I am going to make some brown rice for sure. Also played about 2 hours of extreme hacky sack througout the day. Feeling really good about bouncing back after two rough days - at least calorie/workout wise.

Edit: Ended up making Chicken Enchilada Casserole, Brown Rice & salad with red wine vinegar & olive oil. For dessert I had a single sandwich thin(whole grain) with some peanut butter & 3/4 of a banana sliced onto it !

well done keeping on track after a bit of a blip. your running looks like it's improving :)

Hope you're not slipping away from us and getting into the Christmas food. :p

Can't wait to read the mile under 9 minutes. :)

This is what I had for breakfast

Today I eat a really nice meal for breakfast:

  • Wheated Corn Pops
  • Milk
  • A slice of whole wheat bread
  • Pure Orange Juice

I believe breakfast is one of the most important meals that you should absolutely make sure to eat. My breakfast was pretty balanced today and I must say I really did enjoy it.

Okay, recap... My buddys came up on sunday night, I ran sunday morning. I also had a lot of beer & nachos(home made - still not good for me) with the fixings, had a hot dog sandwich for lunch too :p Next day, since friends were on break & were staying another day I made sticky buns the night before. Only exercise I got that day was throwin' round the pig skin outside for an hour or two. Ladies came over & we drank some beer, jager bombs. I could not stay away from the pubmix hahaha. Played hacky sack today for about 3 hours and I am about to go run a mile, anything under 10 mins is acceptable. Felt really guilty but... I had a great time & I am getting back on the right track, still 229! Thank god for being 18 :|

Today, ate peanut butter sandwich, on a sandwich thin for breakfast with milk. Two orange chicken wings I baked with Panda Express Orange sauce for friends originally - now leftovers. Fresh crab for dinner from Costco ! Didn't eat that much, about half a crab-ish. Ran about an hour after dinner under 10min mile, then two laps of incline 6 speed 3.7/speed 7 incline 1 = 20 minute session
