I'm new to this weight-loss diary thing but, here goes. I joined weight-loss.fitness.com a couple of months ago. I wasn't as serious as I should have been. I think I weighed in at 297 lbs. Then came the holidays... I beefed up even further to an astounding 306.4 lbs. I'd like to say that I can't believe I got over 300 pounds but, I know what I was eating and how little I was moving. It was a huge wake-up call though. Since then, I've been eating a lot better. Lots of fruits and veggies and no soda or fast food. I've also been trying to be more active. I'm really excited about getting healthier. As of this morning, I weigh 295.6 lbs. If I count from when I joined I've lost about 1.5 pounds. If I count from a month ago, I've lost almost 11 pounds. Either way, I'm happy to be losing!
I've been trying to figure out how much weight I should lose. I'm thinking about another 115 pounds... That's a lot to take in. It would overwhelm me if I let it. I know I can do it though. For now, I'm going to shoot for 280 pounds by March 24th. That's only 15.6 lbs. and seems a lot more manageable.
Realistically, my family is not going to be very supportive so, I'm going to be looking toward some of my co-workers and the people on this site for support. My boyfriend says he wants to join me in my effort and is trying to start by giving up soda. He's roughly 400 lbs. and not particularly motivated to change that. I absolutely love him the way he is but, I'm worried about him. If he will just stick with giving up soda, I think he'll feel a lot better. We went bowling recently and he says he'd like to go again.
I slipped up a bit today and ate a few chips with lunch. Luckily I stopped at a few. Still, I wish I hadn't.
