tell your most painful moment in the gym

In Colorado I got heavy into lifting. Was doing more weight than normal one particular day and did 4 reps shooting for 5. I totally hit the wall half way up and couldn't for the life of me put the bar back in the pins. I tried and tried, I was wiggling my legs all around and making something close to animal noises. It was so early in the morning on a snowy day and hardly anyone was there. Eventually someone came into the room and said loudly "Holy SHI*" and ran to help me. lol. That was painfully embarassing.
My proudest moment is a tie between completing my first Senior National 10K open water swim and completing my first half marathon.

Ouch Sparrow! I'm sure that bruised your ego more than your body :( lol. Congrats on the half marathon though!

Hmmm...So i was coming back from a vacation one time, and i had just begun my real lifting session, good ol bench press time. There were 4-5 other guys in the rather small room with me, so it was obvious everyone could see everyone else. I put up a pretty decent weight and started her off....Cake. I was pumped. So i put more...

Now on a good day back then i could bench ~260 MAX; I had 215 on there. Got to 3 reps, wanted to get to 5 for some reason...Made it to 4. Then it just BROKE like a dam and i couldnt budge the thing more than an inch above my chest. Tried getting angry, embarassed, no dice...

No one came to help heh. So i rolled the thing down my body somehow and placed it on top of my thighs. Brilliant Tenken, that one hurt. Of course i couldnt get UP from that position...Eventually i managed to lean it halfway against the seat, sliding around and slammed my ass against the wall, got it down...then tediously took off the weights, all the while pretending to have hurt my shoulder. 5 minutes later, once it was all put away, i got my stuff, and ran my embarrassed behind home. I made sure not to come to the gym at that hour since then heheh ^^

That one was TOUGH to live down :D

Worst moment in the gym - I was by myself one morning opening up, we have an upstairs and downstairs area I just switched the treadmills and thought I would slide down the rail. Anyway my pants got caught somehow and I fell about 8 feet onto concrete floor in between the calf and leg press, lucky no one was around but damn I had a sore shoulder.

Best Moment in the gym - When the hottest chick at my gym asked me out! unfortunately I was just moving away.... in fact that was probably worse than me falling!

My high school has a workout/conditioning program in the summer, mainly football players and wrestlers take it. Sophomore year during "SuperGroup" as it's called (I don't play football or go to SuperGroup anymore), I was squatting with some friends. I'm a speed guy, played free safety, not a strong guy.

Anyway I'm squatting with friends and not doing the most weight in the room, to put it kindly, and some douchebag (pardon my language) D-lineman scoffs and acts really manly and sweet. He goes to do deadlifts, puts too much weight on, and pulls a muscle in his back.

So then I scoffed and acted really manly and sweet.

Probably the worst moment for me: There was a cute senior in the room doing that machine where you lie on your stomach and bring the weight up with your knees. It was a beautiful sight, until she saw in the giant mirror on the wall that I was checking her out. Pretty awkward moment for me.
