Hey there. So I'm just now turning 16, I'm 6 ft. 2 in. tall, and I weigh 170 lbs. I weight lift four times a week at school (Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri.). I know that doesn't sound like much, but I work extremely hard in class (we get around an hour), and when summer comes, I'll either continue to drive to school to weight lift or join a gym. I try to get a 3 or 4 mile run in each week, and I go to TKD Karate usually three times each week (Mon., Tues., Fri.). I figured I'd tell you a bit about my routine, so now here's my gal. I want to replace what fat I have with pure hardcore muscle. Plain and simple. I want to look extremely good, and be as healthy as I can be. So here's my questions. Please answer as much of them as you can, and I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
- What supplements do you recommend? As of right now, I'm taking Muscle Milk protein shakes (once per day), Glutamine powder (once per day), fish oil omega 3 capsules (2 per day), and Creatine powder (once per day). Is this okay, and will it help me?
- What are the best protein/meal replacement bars (please nothing that costs 30 bucks for 12 of them)?
- How many calories should I take in each day?
- Should I mix the protein shake with water or skim milk?
- When should I take the protein shake if I limit it to 2 scoops (1 serving) each day?
- When should I take the other supplements?
- What should I drink? I heard that Gatorade was bad for you, and I used to drink one a day at school. I don't drink softdrinks, for the record. I heard fruit juice was bad for you also, because of "high levels of sugar."
- How much cardio should I be adding to my weight training each week?
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
