I've been wanting to lose weight for quite some time. My goal is to get down to the weight I was in my first year of university. That is 40 pounds less than now.
I'm married, my husband is one of those eternally thin people. The ones that can eat anything and not gain a pound. I shouldn't say that, he has actually gained about 5 pounds since we've been married.
ANyway... I always get geared up to start losing weight, and lose motivation quite quickly (1 week). But this time I have motivation. My husband agreed that if I can lose 40 pounds, I can get the cat I've been asking to get for about 2 years.
YAY! Finally he agreed to a cat!
I promised I wouldn't bug him about getting a cat until i'm in the final stages. So that will be very exciting.
I also want to lose the weight for my health. I have a high risk of diabetes due to genetics, and being overweight makes me a prime candidate.
Tomorrow I plan to walk to and from work, and hopefull get some rowing done at home inthe evening (but I have a paper due on Tues, so I may not get the rowing in).
I'm hoping for some motivation from everyone here on the board during my journey as well!
Take care!
