Tamara's Weightloss Journey!

OMFG, I'm so pissed off about my day today!! I just want to scream. This day was HORRIBLE!!! My sodium is outrageous, UNACCEPTABLE!!!! My cholestrol? I think is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Don't get me started on my fat... and my calories are ridiculous. a repeat of today is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, um, ok... this is how my days should look, in order of importance...?

Lots of water.
Lots of protein.
Fruits and veggies.
Good amount of fiber.
As little fat as possible.
As little sodium as possible.

And btw Allyphoe, when it comes to sodium, I have no idea where it should or shouldn't be, so I decided to try to minimize it the best I can.

Oh, and Darwinfish, I'm STILL very uncomfortable accepting eating more than 2000 calories a day! I always FEEL like I've failed terribly whenever I eat over 2000 calories.

Holy hunnies! 7inches lost from your waist?! Thats amazing- I feel like I've been workin my ass off, and haven't lost an inch :(
Don't get discouraged lady- you've been doing fantastic, even with a bad day here and there. And if your on your period, that could have something to do with the bad day?? I'm about done with mine, but I tell ya what- I wanna eat any form of chocolate when its TOM!

That's a good plan. Eating those fruits and veg will take care of that fiber for you. You don't want to eat as little fat as possible, you just want to keep it under a certain level. Fat is good for you if you get it from the proper sources (fish, olive oil). It's a great way to bring your calories up without eating so much. It's a good idea to limit sodium as well, but please don't obsess over it. Like I said, just drink water. If you overdo the sodium drinking a lot of water will help prevent the retention.

That's a psychological thing that you need to overcome if you want to eat properly. Like I said, at your age, weight and height, 2000 is the absolute minimum you should be eating. That's just what your body would use if you laid in bed all day. Eating less than that is like putting 10L of fuel in your car to get you to work when it takes 12. You're not going to get there.

Food is not your enemy if you are eating healthy, nutritious food. 2000 calories at McDonald's should make you feel bad. 2000 calories from lean meats, fruits, veg and healthy fats will make your body elate! Good luck!

P.S. Hope you can avoid a repeat of whatever happened yesterday. You can do it, Tam.

Thanks Jess!!

So since I weigh in every Monday and Friday, it's Friday, and my period is NOT over!!! I weighed in at 285, but that's also after eating, and it was 287 mid-week, 283 on Monday, right before my period, I lost at least 2lbs, so I guess I'll have to wait until Monday for something accurate! Ugh!! :banghead:

Jess: Thanks! I got it on Amazon for under $200 (it's cheaper at Walmart online if you do ship to store, but I didn't want to wait and my Walmart didn't have it), free shipping, which was a iffy purchase, but it has a 300lb weight capacity, so, I figured, "hey, why not?"..it's a "Stamina"... I like it so far, except I over worked myself the first day using it and my calves still haven't recuperated. The muscle is really tense, and it won't untense...I don't know how to explain it other than that, it really really hurts to walk, and work last night was a killer! I'm going to attempt to do my cardio today anyway, but, they really hurt! LOL... I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes you just have to... ;)

Darwinfish: Thanks! :D It's good so far, hope you have a great weekend too!

Hi Tamara,

I read the first few pages of your diary... It is very interesting! Your meals sound delicious by the way! That's awesome you seemed to have figured out how to fit your favorite foods (Which I'm guessing cheese is one of them lol! it's mine, too) into your low calorie plan. Your weight loss is amazing so far! Keep up the good work!

Also... Your 'rewards' are a really good idea! It seems like you've got this figured all out!

Congrats!

Thank you so much!!! I figure why make myself suffer and go without all the foods I LOVE? Although I need to do some more limitations on SOME of the foods I LOVE! LOL... like pizza from my favorite pizza place... which I can only guesstimate calories for... :leaving:

Yesterday we had pizza for dinner because I was super accident prone at work last night, (ripped part of my nail almost all the way off, poured 180 degree water on myself, and hit my knee up against a bench when walking past it), and didn't feel like cooking.....so anyway...having pizza, and ice cream, AND SODA...that killed my fat and sodium..cholesterol and carbs are higher than I want them to be...fiber is too low... and my calories are still (barely) acceptable. This is a perfect example of a bad day, food wise, for me... never fear, tomorrow's over, and today is here!

Sorry about your bad day yesterday! I might have missed it in one of your earlier posts... But where do you work? I hope your finger is OK!

Yesterdays meal might not have been on track, but it seems like you did one heck of a workout! And you're right... As long as you pretend like your bad food day never happened, it never did! ;)

Can't wait to read more of your posts,

-N-

PS: Pizza is a major weakness of mine. And southern sweet tea!

I work at a resturant... and the workout was great, although I probably could have done more on the elliptical...
but really didn't want to over work myself.
