Taking Some Initiative.

Background:
So basically, I've been overweight as long as I remember. I mean, waaay back when I was little. A picture of the first year I played baseball, at age four, has a hanging gut on it if it says anything. I don't blame my mom for it anything like that, but I've always been this overweight kid my entire life. Got made fun of it, never really been in a relationship until recently, and I really feel like it's held me back from achieving certain goals in my life and I worry about future health issues.

So, here I am in college, my last year. I'll graduate this upcoming December 2011, hopefully haha. I have maxed out at 325 lbs at some point while I've been here. I hit 320 last summer and am down to almost 300, I have hit it I'm just not consistently there or below.

----

Motivation and inspiration isn't hard to find, but I do have instances where I eat randomly when I am bored, which is a terrible excuse.

I'll be doing some random updates with how much exercise I've done, some eating habits, progresses made, and even some music choices cause that's been a big part of my life as well. I'm coming at you at about 303 lbs right now, January 2nd of 2011. I hope to go down about 10 lbs a month, which is a tall order, but I feel that I have the motivation and determination to pull it off.

Any tips, help, motivation, jokes, or anything is definitely appreciated. :) Thanks for taking time out of your life to read and catch up on my journey to a better me.

You need to work out your BMR, best thing I ever did :) If you google it and enter your details, it will tell you how many calories your body naturally burns. So for instances my body burns 2300 calories then if you consume 500 less calories you will lose weight i know you can do too much excercise and eat too little you body can go in to deprivation mode and not lose so it a good idea to check out :) and well done on taking the step :)

I have a BMR of 2719.06.

Thanks for the info, I totally forgot about that, lol. I'm "kind of" counting calories as in I'm trying to stay around 1500, give or take. I'm definitely not trying to break 2000 though a day, but it happens once in a while. Thanks again. :)

Welcome to the forum. Hope you find a lot of support and help here, and knowledge about weight loss too. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be amazed what can happen in a month or two or three.

Kudos on hitting the eliptical like that.
I always feel like someone should throw a parade for me any day that I manage to do even 2 days in a row on that beast.

Jealous over here.

Best of luck!

After two days off, I got another workout tonight and it felt great. I'm also incorporating more protein into my diet to outweigh fats and carbs, not combined but you get it.
