Swimming

Ok i decided that i'm going to bulk until summer, and then i'm gonna try to tone my body. Will swimming be sufficient in toning? Like as long as i eat healthy and enough food, can i just swim all summer and maybe go to the gym once a week to get tone?
 
I personally love swimming as a way to tone, some people don't like it so much though. Eating a whole lot + swimming doesn't tend to work too well either (for an intense workout, which you should be doing if you're trying to lean out, you'll cramp up).
