SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Hi Angel and Brunettegoddess!

Angel, it was nice to get out, just a bummer we had to wait sooooo long to get a table.

Brunettegoddess - thanks about the dress. I work at a private school and for the most part there is no junk there. In fact they discourage kids bringing junk in their lunch boxes too - not even fruit roll-ups! Except if they are the "natural" ones. I've seen one little girl eat those and I think she's going to pull her teeth out one of these days!

Well yesterday my eating was a bit off - and my scale jumped back up - even though I forgot to post that I finally hit 165, I did update my ticker. But this morning it was back up. I knew it would be since the food choices had to catch up with me sooner or later.

I got home today made supper, sat down to watch some tv, and before I knew it I was out! I did wake up about 30 or 40 min. later, but then it was after 7 and I don't want to workout too much after 7 or I'd be up all night. I feel like I'm doing something wrong when I don't exercise.

But I have to stick with it, or my weight will never stay down! I want to get to goal by July. Hopefully that will work for me since my goal isn't even as small as I should be by the "standard" charts.

Hey there!
I passed out on the couch last night as well! LOL
Though I did make it to my PowerCore Class last night. That is too funny that they made you guys go thru seperate doors. Like it would really matter.
Hmmph.
Is there a reason you picked July for your goal?
Well I need to hop on over to the Self Website so will catch ya later.
Chow!

That's awesome that your school preaches healthy eating. Growing up school lunches were always really gross and usually veggies were the worst part... they weren't fresh and the lunch ladies couldn't cook! Although I do miss cupcake day:)

Hey there congrats on 165!! I love those one bars and I am hooked
on them for a snack or breakfast called fruit and grain bars
they have apple or strawberry and they are so good for like 120
or 14 cals.I hope you have a wonderful week Tammy

Chow!

I just calculated it as a 1-2lb loss per week from the time I started and July was the month that said I could make it to 145 (of course that could've changed by now.)

I know what you mean. My kids complain about public school food and how much "junk" they serve. The kids here don't get cupcake day though - maybe at the public school? I dunno.

When we had our valentine party - the kids were supposed to bring healthy snacks, well some did, but some didn't - they all collected their valentines, then put them away in their cubby for later. :) That was our Valentine "party".

This morning I got on the scale and was up 2 lbs! I think it's due to it being ttotm. Usually it doesn't effect me so much, but last month it did the same thing.

I did get on the elliptical tonight. Did a 40 min. workout, 3.29 miles, 405.1 cals, and 5300 strides. So I'm glad for that.

Also during the nap-room time, I kept doing pilate crunches - like lying almost all the way to the floor and bringing myself up with just my abs. I'm sure some of the kiddos were wondering what I was doing. :biggrinjester:

I just got off the phone with my mom. I haven't posted this here yet, but my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She had the tumor removed in Jan. and will be starting chemo tomorrow. I am a little sad because we don't have a very good relationship. I know she wants me to come for a visit - which I will. It's just that I wish I would've visited sooner and not just because she has cancer.

The good news is that it isn't malignant, they removed it all, she didn't have any in her lymph nodes. She is having chemo as a "preventive measure" - as per her dr.'s orders.

So if you are one to pray, I know she could use some prayers.

Some more good news is that she is talking to a minister and is going to be baptized. She said she was when she was younger, but now wants to have it done again. She has never been one to go to church, but says she has been going on and off now for awhile.

Well, I just got a phone call from our school and we have a 2 hr delay tomorrow morning!!! That means I get to sleep in! :hurray:

School was closed for me today!

I actually got the day off. I came out to make a phone call to see about a letter of reference (since we had a delay already, I had some extra time this morning) and when I checked online we were closed! We get the 1st call that tells us if we have a delay, then we are supposed to "stay tuned". Well my tv doesn't pic up the stations that broadcast the closings for my school, so I check online. Just hope the internet isn't "down".

Anyway, I decided to call Bell to see what she was doing and she had her kiddos home today too. Plus she said the roads were a little yucky (at least the side roads.) So while waiting for her to get done with her Y class, I decided to clean my bathroom - scrub the floor and tub. And I decided to do the kiddos bathroom. My teenager is supposed to be cleaning their bathroom twice a week (cause they are both boys. ;)) But, it's never "clean" like I like it. So I ended up scrubbing their bathroom as well. But my ds decided he just wanted to stay home and have macaroni and cheese. Which I thought sounded like a good idea (the staying home part that is) so that I could do some catch-up on cleaning.

I'm going to go get some other things done, but sat down for lunch and decided to come check out the internet to see if anything had transpired in the last 4 hrs. :biggrinjester:

My weigh-in this morning was only up 1.5 lbs. so I'm sure it's just pms. And it should be gone by the end of the week (plus I hope it takes some with it!)

I was thinking of doing my exercise this morning as well, but I decided against it (cramping this morning - and it should be gone by the evening or at least a little milder.)

I'm excited about the Amazing Race challenge (except for this boiled cabbage thing...ick!) It should keep me on track with my work weigh-ins too! That way I'll surely have an advantage.

Thanks Kim! Yeah my weight has always been a slow steady thing when it wants to "shed" itself.

Hey Angel, thanks!

You mean I don't have to work out for an hour a day until tomorrow?

I worked out for an hour yesterday. 40 min. on the elliptical and then the rest was pilates/yoga/push-ups/sit-ups, etc.

I was really pushing it!

I'm just not too thrilled about the cabbage, but I've found some recipes and I will be able to handle it. Of course my family might wonder why I've gone cabbage crazy all of the sudden.

Haha I think that's kind of funny b/c I took tonight off knowing that I'll have to spend lots of time starting tomorrow working out. Maybe if my weight gain is water weight it'll work out well too for the challenge as I'll drop a bunch of weight next week :).

What recipes have you found for the boiled cabbage? I have some leftover from some that my mom actually made me, but will need to cook something else up. Me in the kitchen is not always a good idea when it's something new :).

Do you mean 30 mins?

I'm going to boil the cabbage and use it in recipes I found that call for cabbage (and I got the idea because at allrecipes for an eggroll recipe the users suggested you boil the cabbage first.) Anyway my menu for tomorrow is: eggrolls made w/ soy wrappers and boiled cabbage, hot & sour cabbage soup, and a stir fry made w/ boiled cabbage. :) I probably won't get all my 5 cups in in that meal, but then I will try the baked potato w/ the cabbage too (as suggested on the amazing race thread.)

BTW, I did try the dance. I couldn't squat all the way to the floor like that kid did. Mine was more of a regular squat position. Do you think that would count?
I also watched other YouTube vids (to see professionals do it) and there is a whole Cossack dance which would be much more fun to try than just the jumping around thing. :D

yep silly me :D

good for you! i am still sticking to the dance. i can do it just really slow at the moment.

probably have to squat really low. not sure if speed matters though. i doubt it.
i might have to check you tube out soon ;)

I figured as much.

I was ok as far as speed, but couldn't squat any further down then about couch level with the knee kicks. If I didn't have to kick I could squat down much further.

Kudos to you for being able to do it even slowly!
