SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Hello Sweetpea,
ICongrats on seeing 160's wow amazing and I can't wait to lol.I invested in a BALL for the 1st time today,I keep hearing nothing but gr8 things you can do with them, mine came with this chart of different body parts it works and had a pic of the exersices you do,I liked it not sure if I did enough REPS but we;ll see in the morning,Keep up the gr8 work,Tammy

I use the same formula SweatPea for "bedbound" lifestyle you still have to multiply it by 1.2 so your number would be 1820. Does that sound better?
My BMR without the multiplier is 1432, now that is how much I usually eat a day, there is no way I can go any lower than that.
I would start from 1820 with reduction of 300 cals/day and see if it works.

PS: I am glad you liked the pancakes, those are my favorite!!

Hajni

Well that does sound better, but I'm not bed bound by any means. I'm pretty active. Might be some days slower than others, but mostly I'm up and around. ;)

But that sounds like a good number for me. Today was around 1700 though, cause I faltered and got a starbucks caffe mocha - w/o telling them no cream and skim milk. :banghead:

Hiya Tammy!

Just so you know, sparkpeople has some great exercise videos and one of them is with the ball. That should give you a really good place to start.

Today has definitely been a busy day. I won't be able to post to everyone like I normally do, only because I want to go read before I go to sleep.

Trying to get everything done like I was before when I was a sahm is pretty tough!
So, I have to balance my time a whole lot better.

Yesterday I did the Denise Austin core workout, and I didn't really like it that much. However, today, I could feel it in my abs. Then when I started to do my other video (the cardio intervals), I could feel the tops of my thighs. So at least I know I got a good workout yesterday. Not sure if I still like her ball workout though. There are other ones that I've done that were better - like one was a circuit video where you could use a ball, weights, etc. I'm going to have to look around to see if I still have it. I might have sold it though (because at one point I could've cared less about exercise.)

Today I got in the cardio interval video. I put my all in it. And I was pretty darn sweaty and red faced when I was done, so I know I did good!

I didn't fare to well on the food though. Most of it was ok, but not all.

B: Fiber one cereal w/ soy milk and banana
L: light vanilla yogurt w/ blueberries and a salad w/ cheese and dressing
S: pretzels (10)
D: Crustless baby bell spinach quiche (came up with the recipe myself - thank ya very much! course I did use another recipe as a guide, but I used baby portabella mushrooms and fresh spinach - mmmm!)
S: 30 cheese-its
Stupidity: Venti Starbucks Caffe Mocha!!!!

My goals for this week:
Exercise: Cardio interval video, treadmill, sculpting video, elliptical, ball video, cardio mix video.
Food: Keep within 1500 cals or less.
Water: 85 - 90 ounces

:driving:

ha-ha, I know you are not bed bound!!! I just gave you that number because that is the absolute minimum for your BMR!! I calculate with the same thing for my cals purpose so pretty much if I tend to eat the same amount of cals/day as the min BMR I still know there is some "cushion" in there for un-accounted calories that I burned like chasing my 2 year old around... LOL
1700 was still a negative cal. day so don't worry about it!!.
I never tried the fiber one cereals, I need to look into that. I eat Kashi high protein one, which is some crazy 13g protein/1 cup.
the spinach quiche does sound delicious!! I cook things like that all the time!!

Have a great day!!!

Thanks for stopping in Hajni! :waving:

I have to remember that the food could've been worse yesterday. I did an awesome workout too.

The thing about the Kashi cereals for me is that it's way too many cals. and the carb count is really high. I don't have to keep track of them for myself persay, but I do for dh since he is diabetic. I don't particularly like the taste of Kashi either.

I'm a cornflake kind of gal, so I do buy Total protein once in awhile and that has a good amount of protein in it - especially for cereal.

I like the fiber one w/ a little fruit and a little splenda. But don't let it sit for too long after you've poured the milk or it's instant mush! :ack2:

------

I haven't exercised as of yet today, but am going to go get on the tready. I just needed to sit down for a bit before I get up and running again.

My youngest ds cooked at school today so brought home this yummy stir fry. It had carrots, chinese cabbage, etc. plus noodles. I only had a little bit, but he told me the carb count for 1 cup, so I kind of figured up the calories from that (see we do keep up with it in this household because of dh.) But I didn't have 1 cup, just enough to see how good of a cook he is (with help.) But dang it, I need him to cook that with me. It was very good.

I'm so sore from yesterdays workout. I have pain in my ribcage, my abs, my thighs, my calves. I'm just hoping once I get downstairs I feel like the treadmill. Otherwise, I might just opt for the elliptical and do the treadmill another day.

I have had a headache since about 12. I just hope I'm not coming down with what my oldest ds has. He's got a fever and chills/sweats. I told him to lysol the remote so the rest of us could use it! LOL

Today's food so far:

B: ww english muffin w/ smart balance and sf orange marmalade, coffee w/ creamer
L: turkey ham sandwich on ww bread w/ mayo and a slice of cheese, carrots and cherry tomatoes, and an apple.
D: 2/3 cup of ds's stir fry, banana
S: cheez-it crackers

Oops, almost forgot to toot my own horn. :driving: :D

I am down 1.5 lbs! So that's definitely motivation to get in the exercise tonight. Also, that was my first goal to get under 170. Now my next mini goal is to get to 165. Wish me luck!

Well I got on the elliptical tonight. I didn't want to chance the treadmill. However, I did an awesome workout.
I did the Interval training program for 45 min. (5 min. cool down.), 3.6 miles, burned 448.9 cals., and did 6534 strides.

I've been keeping post-it notes with this data on my desk so that I know what I can do and then try to either do that the next time or do better.

TTFN!

I'm exhausted and I haven't even exercised yet! :(

Ds is still sick. I'm hoping tomorrow morning he will be feeling better. But, I don't know he still has a slight temp.
He asked me to stay home from school. I was going to but then, I talked to dh and he didn't feel like there was much I could do for him since it's just a malaise kind of thing. Not super sick or anything and he's 15.

I didn't want to stay home for the fact that one of the little girl's parents was coming to our classroom to cook Thai food. They were making Pad Thai. It was very good. I've never had Thai food. They didn't spice it up because of the kids, but they said usually they make it spicier for adults. I thought it was just fine. They also had some ground chilis to put on it, so I did that and it was so delish.

I'm not sure what calorie totals would be. But I do know that I was starving when I got home at 4:30 pm. So, I had a protein bar.

I'm hoping I can at least estimate the calories. Because it could've been loaded with cals, but just not enough protein, therefore making me hungry.

Anyway, I had to turn around as soon as I got home to go coach BBall. And I just got in not too long ago because I chatted with my old boss that I used to work for when I taught at the church's preschool.

So today's meals went like this:

B: protein bar (cause running late trying to decide whether or not to stay home with ds.)
L: Pad Thai
D: protein bar
S: crackers

Oh boy! What a meal plan, eh?

Well I should go exercise. Of course now I'm having a super headache. Grrr!

You are doing such a SUPER GOOD JOB!!!
I am proud :hurray:and jealous  all at the same time that you are in the 160's 'cuz right now 165 is my goal.
I hope that you do not catch what Mr. M had/has. That would really be a bummer.
Well gotta go run and see if I can catch up on everyone else's diaries.
Chow!

Hi Bell,

Glad you had time to stop by here!

Well just got done with a 30 min. cardio/sculpt mix video. I was sweating bullets (not peas!) LOL

Anywho ... off to take my shower. :waving:

Congrats on the 160's!!!!!! All that exercise must be paying off.
Thai food is generally healthy until you start putting the high calorie/fat/sodium sauces on there.... ouch.

I had Chinese the other day but I asked the DIET menu and also they put the sauce on the side. So I only drizzled a couple of drops on it and it was loaded with great vegetables pretty much just steamed. Of course it is not like the "real" thing but it was pretty close.

I looked at my Kashi cereals and they are pretty high in calories except the Kashi GoLean (not the crunchy one). 1 c=140 cals, 13 gr protein and 10 gr fiber. It does not taste sweet and it is not my favorite as far as taste goes.. but eatable!!

Have a great day

Hey, great job with your progress so far! That is great! I was just watching a cooking show last night and she made Pad Thai, I thought it looked pretty good but I've never tried it. But I am not a big spicy person, but I suppose you could put anything you wanted to in it.

Great job with the exercise!

Hi Sweetiepea!!
Man you are doing incrediable! I am so very proud of you. :coolgleamA:
It's funny that you would mention you were sweating bullets last night because so was I at my PowerCore.
It's hard not to when I just come from the pool.
It's actually quite comical as I was drip, drip, dripping all over my yoga mat. And then when I had to go into Warrior 1 pose my foot slipped and I fell over.
Of course everyone laughed but so did I. That is one thing about losing all this weight. I am learning to laugh at myself more.
Keep up all the HARD WORK!!!!
You rock girl!!

I think that's the kashi I've eaten - tasted like cardboard. Blech!

As far as the thai they cooked, they didn't have any sauce as such that would add calories. It had a grilled flavor. She said that usually they would add more to it - sugar and such but didn't for the kids. So I think it was good. I think it could've used more chicken, but again, probably more for the kids.

I had more today, so I'm hoping it was all ok.

I was up a 1/2 of a pound from yesterday, but that could've been anything.

They didn't even add the spice to theirs. They just sprinkled it on later - to keep it good for the kiddos. :)

Last night I didn't exercise because I was feeling pretty tired. I thought it was due to getting up earlier than normal.

However today my chest is very congested. I had aches all day long! And was chilled half of the day when I should've been warm. And had a huge headache.

I came home got in my jammies and took some dayquil, the headache went away and the aches. But I'm starting to feel it again.

I'm so hoping I'm not catching ds's flu, because if I am, next year I am not getting the flu shot!
