SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Thanx for dropping by. You seem to be on track- keep that mindset- especially this week! I hope things continue to go well with the job.

Sounds like life is changing a bit for you... new puppy, job offer... maybe this is just what you needed to get your body to snap to where you want it to be. Hope so. Good luck & you know where this place is when you want/need it. :)

Thanks! I didn't get a puppy though - dh said we should wait until spring since it will be an outdoor pup, and I'm not much of a winter person.

WOW lots of exciting happenings going on in your neck of the woods, you should be excited!! :hurray:

Congrats on the weight loss, and new job!! what a great week for you indeed!

I know several people who home school and they have some great kids. If your able to do that, then go for it, sometimes I believe public school anymore is so damn dangerous. My boys went to public school their whole lives, and well even though we lived in some great neighborhoods and some of the best schools in our district, they still had issues going on, you just never new what was going to happen or what was going to make a kid snap, YIKES!!

Well, enjoy your coming week, I hope it gets even better than this past week, can you imagine?? WOW, you go girl!!

Congrats!
Kim

Thanks Kim! I am proud of my kids and they are pretty good boys. I do have fears about school, but not so much the danger of the other students, but more so the ineptitude of the schools to reach out to each child and to be able to provide them with an individualized education. It's definitely not an easy job (I know), but with all the standardized tests and such it's hard for teachers to just teach - without worrying about test scores. :(

Anyway, the job is going good. I've got ds's app filled out for the school - he will probably be starting in Jan.

Ok so to update a little about me.

The job has been a great experience so far. The people are super nice and the class environment is awesome.

I on the other hand have not been feeling too well. Not sure what is going on, but at first I thought it was a "bug" I got from the kiddies. However, it's been very persistent and not giving me any breathing time. I started feeling yucky last Sat., but I put it off to eating popcorn and eating out that night. Then, Sunday, a little tummy trouble. Monday, I had a few extra bathroom breaks. Tues. was the worst day - up all night long with barely any sleep. I thought it was going to subside Wed. but nope, by the time I went to bed, again the tummy troubles began.

Yesterday I took it easy with the Thanksgiving meal. I ate a little of this and that and kept it to bland foods (potatoes, turkey, etc.) And I thought that was the end of it. Until about 2:30 am, then up and down until 5:00 am, and I just decided to get up and get the day started - I mean no use in lying in bed when I couldn't sleep.

After about 9 am, I felt much better. The day was going good. I even had my brother and SIL and her kids over for a dinner. I did eat more than I have this whole week - so I felt "stuffed" but I'm sure it wasn't too bad considering it wouldn't take much to "stuff" me at this point.

But then, just about 2 hrs ago - back to the potty breaks. Ugh! Dh wants me to go to the urgent care tomorrow, but I just really want to wait it out. Of course, Mon. is work, so that's not good to miss already either.

I figure it's one of two things - A) A new schedule due to working and maybe a little "stressing" out because I'm feeling overwhelmed with all of the new stuff to learn (however I did get a compliment the other day from one of the teachers - she said that it feels like I've been there since the beginning of school - so I don't think I'm doing too bad.)
B) The new meds. I've been on them for 2 weeks now. I don't see this specific problem as one of the side effects. But you never know.

I just want to be able to use the restroom like normal...ugh!

And yes, I did spare a lot of the details because it would've been TMI.

As far as exercise....hahahahaha! I was doing really well, I tried getting up early and just getting it over with. Of course with my schedule, I could only spare about 40 min. But then when the tummy problems started, I'm barely getting enough sleep, let alone trying to exercise.

HI SweatPea!!
I am glad the job is going well.
I am sorry you have the health problems. I agree with your DH though that you should have it checked out by a doctor especially since it has been a week and seems to be no progress.
I hope you are going to feel better very soon...
Oh, and don't worry about no exercising when I was sick that was the last thing on my mind... Just feel better.
A new job is always stressful.
Have a great weekend, and let us know how you are doing!!!
Hajni

Thanks Hajni, for checking in on me. I actually got to sleep the whole night last night!

I'm still on the wait-n-see approach...I know it's not always a good thing, but that's just how I am... hoping it will clear up all on it's own.

Hey girlie~
So sorry to hear that you are/were sick. What with all the holiday rush I haven't had a chance to call you. I agree that if it keeps up you need to see someone about it. Back in the day I had a similar problem and it was due to some bad bacteria in the intestional track. As long as I didn't eat I didn't feed it. When I ate was when the problems started. So if it keeps up then definately get checked out!
Glad the job is going well.
I'll see ya tomorrow!
Mwah!

Time to get back on track!

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a month since I actually posted here!

Well the job is going fabulous, I just love how everything "clicks" with this way of learning. Today in fact the lady who hired me said we need to get together to start thinking about training (which is paid.)

Also, my youngest son is going to be starting there in Jan. The upper elementary is set-up differently than the age level I'm at (primary which is 3-6 yr olds.) The classroom set-up is more like a home school environment and so that will work well for him (since he's only been in the public school for the last year and a half.)

I've been too busy for exercise - ok so that is a major excuse!!!

At first I was going to exercise in the morning, and that worked for like a week. Until I decided my extra 30 min. of sleep was more important to me (especially now since it is so dark and cold.)

Then, I was exercising in the evenings - and try to get it done before I even make dinner. However, some days it just doesn't get done (like today when I baked a double batch of Snickerdoodles after dinner - not for me of course, all for gifts!)

I did order two new workout videos by Shape. They have really kicked my booty... In fact I used them for two days in a row, then had to take a break. My calves actually hurt so bad after the 2nd workout that I could barely walk w/o feeling it - and the only other time I'd ever come close to that was when I did some deadlifts with too heavy of a weight set. Of course I felt that in my hamstrings not my calves. I don't think my calves had ever been that sore.

And after that, I got sick - so my exercise has been sparingly.

On a good note, my weight has stabilized - and my dr. said that in the past month I have lost 6 pounds according to her scale. All I can say is I must've been way up there when I weighed in last month - or I had a lot of extra clothes on. I know I've been up and down, but not 6 lbs.

This week I've exercised all but today (of course it's only Wed.!) LOL But I got on the elliptical because of the cold I've had and just not feeling up to a butt kicking from a video.

Anyway, just wanted to check in...and let you all know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth just yet!

Ciao!

Glad to see your back!!!!
So you gonna be around a bit more often? Or still just every few weeks?
I am glad that the meds are working out for you and that you lost 6#'s even if you think it might be wrong it still had to feel good to hear it!
So glad that you are really enjoying your job! And I really think that C-man will love being over there too.
I gotta go pick up the kiddos so will give you a call later!
Catch ya later!!!!

So these new workout vids are very tough. I don't know if it's because I really haven't been giving my workouts my all, or if they just really kick booty!

One of the vids has 3 workouts: cardio, sculpting, then a mix
the other one has 2: Cardio and a sculpting mixture.

Yesterday I did the first vid mentioned - was bouncing all over the place. It incorporates a lot of ups and downs, like you would be if you were working out with "hills". Then today I did the sculpting vid...whew! That was pretty awesome. I can feel it already, and know I will feel it tomorrow.

These new meds make me feel full and if I drink all my water, I will hardly eat anything...I guess that's how it makes you lose weight! However, I haven't been drinking all of my water. So, I guess I need to do that so that I can give myself a better chance.

I'm planning on doing all the workouts every 5 days with one day break in between. I just need to make sure to get in my workouts in the evenings when I don't get them done in the mornings.

Ds just asked me to make him some popcorn and since we are out of the microwave kind, guess I got to go do it manually! :D

Ok so the vid plan isn't going to work.

I've done the first 3 workouts (Mon.-Wed.) and I'm sore all over. I think I will do 2 or 3 days of vids, then go and workout on the treadmill or elliptical for a break. Otherwise I will not be wanting to do the vids at all.

Eating is going well except for the snickerdoodles I had last night - ds needed some for a cookie walk for his band concert tonight.

Well off to tackle one of the machines in the basement.

Sounds like a great plan! Nothing worse than being stuck in a rut to make you want to give up.

Loving the new picture. How cute.... although I think I would have to have a talk with someone who gave me anything that was alive as a gift! Even if it was cute.

Hi Moon!

Well the "gift" is actually our hamster. My son put it in that bag, then he figured out how to climb out. So I snapped a few shots and that one was awesome.

I didn't get on the elliptical yesterday. Even later in the day I was sore.

But today I did get on the elliptical for 33 min. (5 min. cool down.)

Tomorrow, pulling out the 2nd video and going with the first workout on there. :D

So let's see...where did I leave off?

I've been off of work since Dec. 17th. Since the last post, I took the day off, then took another day off...then Christmas was here...and well heck it was vacation!

But, I did manage to workout Christmas day on the elliptical. Then, the next day as well.

The 27th I decided to get on the treadmill. My oldest son encouraged me to do 2 miles in less than 30 min. So that's what I did. He's currently getting in 1 mile in a little over 7 min. There's no way in heckola that I would be able to do that - I don't even think I could do that when I was his age. I hated to run. But he does and he says only the "fat" kids can't run a mile in 15 min. Of course I argued with him and said I was a fat old lady - so that's 2 strikes against me. ;~)

But I got in the 2 miles in 28 min. And then the next day my sides were sore, like I had done an ab workout.

Yesterday I did my vid. again the one with the "hills" and I'm totally sore today, but will go get on the elliptical cause later we are going to the movies. And I lubs popcorn. And I will eat it. :D

So off to exercise...

BBL!

Sounds like Mr. M is keeping you in-line!!!
Sure did miss ya this holiday, just wasn't the same. I'll have to tell ya all about it.
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your vacation.
And way to go on the exercising!
Catch ya later!

Nice work on the workout! 7 minute miles...no way I could do that at the moment. I'm with you in the slower pace. You know slow & steady wins this race. What matter most is that we stick to it!

Yeah I wish I could do a 7 min. mile. Maybe one of these days. I will stick with the 14 min. mile for now. :D

Yesterday we went to the movies. Saw I am Legend, it was a good movie, but not what I expected (I think I expect too much out of movies anymore!)

Dh ate most of the popcorn, I don't think I got even 1/4 of the tub and when I did get some it was all seeds...:puke:

I did get on the elliptical yesterday before we went (which almost made us late cause we were being lazy!)

We went out to eat at Cracker barrel afterwards. And, I ordered the chicken dumplings, which were luke warm cause we were waiting on dh's steak (so the waitress said.) Nobody liked their food except dh. I only ate about 1/2 (maybe) of what I was served which was plenty, I'm sure.

Yesterday's meals were like this:

Breakfast: yogurt, string cheese
Lunch: 3 slices of turkey
snack: popcorn at movie theater
Dinner: mashed potatoes, dumplings, green beans, and 1 biscuit. Like I said the taters and dumplings were ick - so I didn't eat as much as I normally would've.

My weight was up 2 lbs today. :( Dh says it's from the salt on the popcorn, which I guess could be the case, but I'm bummed.

I know the taters and dumplings didn't help either.

Well I didn't exercise this morning either. I was being super lazy...we went to bed late, got up late, and just didn't do anything. I was reading a book all day long, until I made lunch and then went and took my shower.

Today so far I've had:

Breakfast: 2 whole wheat pancakes w/ sf syrup, coffee w/ creamer
Lunch: ww spaghetti, turkey meatballs, and a little bit of sauce, 1 slice of low cal bread w/ a little "butter" on it and garlic salt, a small salad

I'm planning on making chicken and sweet potatoes tonight for supper and I'm done for the day.

Guess I'd better call Bell's hubby, cause I found my phone and saw that she left me a message to come over for tomorrow...

Happy New Year!

Don't fret over those couple of pounds.. sounds like it could just be the sodium making you retain water. Just keep on doing what you need to.
