Sweating?

I'm not sure if this is in the right section....but here goes.
Is there a cheap way to help me to not sweat so much? I mean, it's really embarrassing because sometimes when I just sit there at school, I start to sweat under my arms and also especially in P.E. But sometimes, my face also starts to have sweat and makes my hair all gross and stuff.

you could use anti perspirants but in my experience they serve no real purpose and do no real good!

there are many home remedies to reduce sweating but im not sure whether they do work.

Sweat is a natural thing and isnt so much to be embarassed about
I understand how it feels to be in your position since i had the same problem. i use to feel so self concious. Now i've learned to let go off and just accept it :)

If it is really bothersome you can get botox in your armpits to stop the sweating. This is what they do in hollywood and there is no harm to the body as there are millions of little sweat glands. You can also do it to the soles of your feet if you sweat too much down there too.

There are a couple of things you can use that are true anti-persperants. Deoderants just cover up smell - a real anti-persperant causes you to not sweat as much:

- An unfragranced aluminium salt preparation suitable for hyperhidrosis
- Talcum powder and corn starch powder are suitable for mild hyperhidrosis. Apply between the toes, under the breasts and other skin folds.

i thought talcum powder could block the pores of the skin which is not good for the skin

@physiquedoctor
botox while effective can be a really expensive(jmo)
and then it is just a temperory thing

That's the what anti-persperants do, unfortunately. Sweating is a healthy response of your body's - to reduce sweating is to inhibit a healthy response - so it's a mixed bag either way.

I had same problem, after a while i got pretty annoyed and went to doctor, told him I had excessive underarm sweating. He gave me this thing you put on at night and wash off in morning.

I stopped sweating after first day. Feels so good

i went to the docs 2 days ago with the same problem.

he basically said that a lot of excercise, especially late at night, can cause excessive sweating throughout the rest of the day even at rest.

he told me to try "Oda Ban" (thats not a misspelling) and this is an aluminium compound that you use nightly for a week and then once or twice a week from then on.

I cant tell you if it works however as i over applied the first application (even though id read the instructions) and now have very red, very sore armpits.

Use sparingly folks.

don't worry!

Hi,

I think no need for you to worry since sweating is essential to your health. It get rid of wastes from your body, regulates the critical temperature of the body at 37 degrees C (98.6 degrees F), and helps keep your skin clean and pliant.

As long as it's not smelly, don't worry too much! ;)

cheers,
nina

But it looks really gross when my face is all red and my hair is all sweaty!

Just wear anti persperant. Thats what worked for me. Unless you already do? Are you overweight? I cant tell not working in pounds :p. Overweight people have more of a problem acheiving homeostasis. To achieve this energy exchange has to occur and we all know a result of energy exchange some energy is lost as heat resulting in sweating. When you hit your goal weight the problem might just go away!

Good luck though and dont get to hung up on it. Everyone has things they dont like about themselves. I have a big nose! Anyone know of a spray of powder or something that will reduce my nose lol
